  1. I bid this for my son, who is visiting Penn State Medical Center. I assumed I would get Comfort Inn, which is on the priceline list of hotels, but Best Western came up. Mixed reviews, but it's just for one night and my son is not as picky as I am about hotels. This is a NEW HOTEL to add to the Hershey, PA list. Regards, Donna
  2. I could not seem to win any bid in USE (up to $110.00); USW(to 110.00) Embarcadero (to 115.00); I realized by doing my homework that Wednesday, the 10th, is the day that those area hotels are filled to capacity. (what's going on)? I'm very pleased with my win of this hotel; have never stayed there, but have geard really good reviews! Regards, Donna
  3. Go this hotel for my son, who is in NYC on business and really enjoys the Chelsea area. First bid 4* ESB up to $120.00 with no luck; then 3.5 ESB; again, no luck; then 3 * Chelsea up to $95.00; added 2.5 * and Bid $105.00. Pleased with this hotel due to it's location and free amenities (breakfast, high speed internet). Regards, Donna
  4. Started bidding at $70.00, used free rebids up to $90.00 before getting this hotel. I needed to be near Moscone Convention Center on these days, which is why I only bid in SOMA area. Many other people need hotels near convention center at this time, which is probably why I ended up spending more than I wanted. Does anyone have any experience at this hotel....parking, best rooms, etc. I have not stayed at the Palace before this. Regards, Donna
  5. I first bid $70.00 and was offered to pay $22.00 more to get my hotel, which I declined. Instead, I used a free rebid and raised my price to $75.00. Bingo! I like the Hyatt Regency and its location. Regards, Donna
  6. Tried Soma up to $90.00-no luck; USE to $85.00-no luck; finally USW began at $65.00; one free rebid to $70.00, for the Parc 55 which, after doing my homework, I assumed I was going to get. Sorry guys, but I still believe, after all my bids, wins and losses, that it is a possibility you can bid higher for a better hotel. :) I obviously had no need of a "better" hotel when bidding $65.00 in USW. Regards, Donna
  7. Began bidding with $60.00; was asked to raise my bid by $17.00 to get my hotel; instead, I added a free rebid and bid $65.00, which was accepted for the Hilton. Seems like a pretty good deal. Regards, Donna
  8. First bid "won" this hotel. BTW, the Omni must now be either a 3* or was taken off the list of priceline hotels, as the highest rated hotel now is a 3* Regards, Donna
  9. Empire State Building area was my first choice. I began bidding at $95.00; added free rebids in increments of $5.00 until finally got my hotel at $130.00. This is the hotel that I wanted, but I think I bid a little high for NYC. Probably could have won a 4*hotel in MTE for less $$$$. Guess I was determined to try for this hotel, which Trip Advisor ranks 11th in New York City!! Regards, Donna
  10. First bid was $70.00; was asked to raise my price by $22.00 to get my hotel; instead used a free rebid and raised it to $75.00; voila...Hotel Palomar
  11. My son needed hotel for one night in this area. My first bid of $40.00 was accepted for this Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center Northshore. BTW, the hotel list shows it as a 2.5*. It is now a 3.5*, probably because of the recent renovations. Once again, thanks for your help Regards, Donna
  12. To clarify, North Platte is in Nebraska. Bid $50.00, was asked to raise by $14.00. Since there are no free rebids for this area, I did as I was asked. The hotel was for my son, who is driving route 80 to Chicago...no time to wait 24 hours :) regards, Donna
  13. This is the hotel I was hoping to get, but hope alone does not do it....a little homework and a little help from my friends at Better Bidding. First bid of $85.00 was refused, added a free rebid, took it to $92.00. I always use the link from this website to go to PRICELINE. Thanks, Donna
  14. Began bidding at $75.00,added free rebids up to $105.00, for this hotel. Given the retail prices of hotels for these dates, I expected maybe $90.00 max, but it's okay, nice hotel, nice location Regards, Donna
  15. Amenities = Suite, Restaurant, Fitness, Complimentary Breakfast, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Center, Laundry. Needed one more night in NYC. Tried to extend Affinia Shelburne, to no avail. Saw this on Hotwire and knew it was the Embassy suites. This is one of the better Embassy suites we've been in (Portland, Oregon being my favorite.) Regards, Donna
  16. I have always wondered whether there is a certain day of the week when revenue managers load into the system, or change their pricing to the system; or do they just any old time they want, reload or load? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Regards, Donna
  17. I bid MTE 4* all the way to $165.00. Started a new bid for ESB 3.5* $120.00. Got the Shelburne. Good Reviews Regards, Donna
  18. Amenities = Fitness Center, restaurant, Business Center, High-speed internet. My 25 Year old son will be staying at this hotel while on a business trip (along with fun) for our company. It has what he needs: high-speed internet, nearby subway. Regards, Donna
  19. Thanks for the info Aaron. I will try priceline tomorrow; if not successful, will try Hotwire for a 3* in the various areas. Regards, Donna
  20. I bid 4* Philadelphia Downtown up to $106.00 using free rebids; ran out of free rebids. Bid 3* downtown; first bid of $60.00 got the Courtyard. Looks like a great hotel. Regards, Donna
  21. The dates of stay are Nov. 17-22nd-five nights. The amenities of this hotel are complimentary breakfast and business. I hope it's the Hampton Inn, but do think that's improbable due to the retail price of this hotel; also the icons do not match exactly with the icons on the Hotwire list. Please help. Donna
  22. This hotel is listed in your hotel lists as a 3.5*. Has it changed ratings recently? Thanks, Donna
  23. Started bidding at $75.00; free rebids at $5.00 increase each time; finally succeeeded at $90.00 for this first class hotel Regards, Donna
  24. I began bidding at $50.00 4* downtown; I was asked to add $14.00 to get my hotel; instead I added a free rebid and bid $55.00 to get this hotel. I believethis is a new hotel to list on priceline list. It is on hotwire hotel list. The Adolphus is a very historic hotel; I'm very pleased. Regards, Donna
