Montreal 4* property at $119 downtown area with only two ammenities: Restaurant and Pool . Didn't see it in the list. 95% recommended in HOTWIRE reviews Can you help determine which hotel this is? THX! :)

Tried yesterday and couldn't win up to $65 - tried again today adding free rebid Medford zone and won at $60. Offer to extend stay at same rate. Back to the Hyatt Regency Cambridge for me - I believe it is $89 on Hotwire at the moment (the 65% recommended rate gives it away I think) - so for the price I am happy. The good thing about this hotel is that you can park for free overnight on Vassar Street by the MIT police station. I did use the PRICELINE link . Did not win at $55, or $60 for Point Claire region nor Dorval Airport region. Closed the browser and rebid at $65 just for Pointe Claire and got the Holiday Inn. I did use the PRICELINE link. Thanks again.

Just to follow-up - everything worked out very well. I received a non-smoking room. The hotel is quite nice - across the street from the beach and easy to get to from the airport. Customer service was very good. There is plenty of easy to find free street parking nearby. Certainly worth the price I paid. It doesn't really deserve the low rating it has on Tripadvisor.

FYI : As usual after I get a room from Priceline or Hotwire, I called the hotel directly to request a non-smoking room. For the first time ever , the response was 'Since you used a third party booking site, I am unable to fulfill your request for a non-smoking room at this time. Your room is only assigned when you arrive.' Not impressed at all by that Crowne Plaza.. ("policy" or not)

Blast! I got caught in the Redondo Beach / Manhattan Beach trap... I wanted the Residence Inn or any of the other 3* choices (even the 2.5* choices I hear are nice)... I bid $43 for a 3 star and got upgraded to the 3.5* Crowne Plaza. I don't think you can win the 3*s for less than $43 - oh well. I noticed that Hotwire offers a 2.5* in Lawndale and 'We are still gathering reviews for this property. ' perhaps it is new? Just a heads-up to those using Lawndale as a 2.5* re-bid zone, make sure you verify it hasn't been added to PRICELINE each time to avoid a nasty surprise.

I guess this is the key point to remember: "The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a PRICELINE page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. " I can see after following this that Lawndale will only allow up to 2*

Then how can people use it as a rebid zone if nobody knows what is available there? "I will lower the * rating to 3.5* - 2 rebid zones. what would be a sensible starting price? does this look ok? bid $70 - add rebid zone 1 (culver city) bid $75 - add rebid zone 2 (lawndale) bid $80."

Been trying for a while to get this - regular rates are high for this one way rental. $19 to 23 for economy to mid-size kept failing over past couple of weeks ... decided to bump to $25 today and was accepted. Even the lowest published price seems low compared to some quotes I saw in the $500-600 range. Total Charges: $234.39 Lowest Published Price: $398.53 Total Savings:* $164.14 (You saved 41%) I forgot to use the PRICELINE Link - my apologies!!!

Thanks for adding that Colfax. I am also looking for a 3* in this area (2/21 - 23) and haven't had luck at $50 a couple of times on PRICELINE now. Good to know that I might have better luck as the dates approach.

Cambridge was the 'best deal' zone at 3.5star. Started at $55 - declined but they offered me the chance to resubmit for $15 extra. I added a zone and re-bid at $58 and was accepted. I used the PRICELINE Link BUT! Just found out self parking is <gulp> $35 a night! Any suggestions on how to save on parking here? Any ideas with this 2.5-star hotel in Mission Valley - Hotel Circle location in San Diego priced at $43 from Feb 18-25th? It has 3 ammenities listed: Pool , Complimentary Bfast, and Fitness The locations on the pinned list all seem to have more ammenities. Thanks very much for any help!

The info from Priceline is confusing: Doubletree Guest Suites Boston Cambridge 400 Soldiers Field Road Boston, Massachusetts 02134 617-783-0090 Then on Google Maps, it defines it as: 400 Soldiers Field Rd, Allston, MA 02134 I had both Cambridge and the 2 or 3 Downtown Boston choices selected, so I am not sure which zone Priceline fits this place in. Just goes to show what a bizarre location this hotel was built at!

I have stayed here before and it is a nice place - save for it being in the middle of nowhere! (Hard to get to via transit.) First bid of $65 was accepted for this 3* after I couldn't get any 4* hotels for $81. (used the betterbidding PRICELINE link) Thanks to all posters!

Got same deal as Nickmedic ( Booyah Nick!) - 3* Delta Montreal $50 a night. (additional nights at same price were offered) 4/18 - 4/20 Montreal Salsa Convention Weekend! Best price on Delta website for this period is $128 per night.
