This was a very unusual bidding experience for me. I wanted to stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort- it is a great facility and we have stayed there using Priceline twice before. It is the only 4 star property in the area, so once you are in the know of how to work the system, you are basically bidding on just this property (and it's a great facility!). So I started bidding at $85 and increased by $5. It has recently gone for $104 a night, but at $110 I was still rejected. However, a Priceline Express deal was available which I could tell was the property, for $116 a night. With the 5% discount from a promo code, it was within nickels of the bidding price that was just rejected!?!? I booked the Priceline Express deal. When I booked the deal, at the top of the confirmation page, it said "Congratulations... This reservation has been provided by our partner Tourico Holidays, Inc." I have no idea what Tourico Holidays has to do with anything, and I wonder if that has any reason for the discrepancy between getting an offer by bidding or Priceline Express. Im a little curious, but in the end I have the property I want at the price I want so I'm happy :O)
