  1. Logging back in I can see listed accessible parking, in-room accessibility, and roll-in shower that were not mentioned earlier, although those are not evident at the time of booking. If you were to try and book this deal right now (which you can still do) the only things you see BEFORE you book are what amenities are listed in my original post.
  2. I am thrilled beyond the moon to get this property- the #1 hotel in Vancouver according to Trip Advisor, and with taxes and fees comes to $209/night versus $370 if I booked it through the hotel (both prices USD). I am saving over $800, and would not have stayed here otherwise! Amenities listed: Business Center Internet Access Pool(s) Fitness Center Pet friendly Spa Services Accessible for visually impaired/hearing impaired/accessible path of travel.
  3. Bid at $190 and was rejected.... Price is $210 with tax comes to $260. I've stayed at this hotel before and really liked it and so I was attempting to get this hotel. While it may not be the biggest Manhattan bargain on Priceline, I'm familiar with this hotel and it works for my family and it is much better than the $449 rate if I booked it directly through the hotel!!!
  4. This was a very unusual bidding experience for me. I wanted to stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort- it is a great facility and we have stayed there using Priceline twice before. It is the only 4 star property in the area, so once you are in the know of how to work the system, you are basically bidding on just this property (and it's a great facility!). So I started bidding at $85 and increased by $5. It has recently gone for $104 a night, but at $110 I was still rejected. However, a Priceline Express deal was available which I could tell was the property, for $116 a night. With the 5% discount from a promo code, it was within nickels of the bidding price that was just rejected!?!? I booked the Priceline Express deal. When I booked the deal, at the top of the confirmation page, it said "Congratulations... This reservation has been provided by our partner Tourico Holidays, Inc." I have no idea what Tourico Holidays has to do with anything, and I wonder if that has any reason for the discrepancy between getting an offer by bidding or Priceline Express. Im a little curious, but in the end I have the property I want at the price I want so I'm happy :O)
  5. Thrilled to get this property as it is connected to the airport terminal and I have a 5:50 am departure (yikes!). Rate if I booked directly from the hotel was $199. I'm doing the cabbage patch dance!
  6. Thanks to a recent posting by another user, I saw this was the cheapest this property has gone for and so started at this bid. I'm thrilled that we got this hotel, and also that we got it as far in advance as we did. We've stayed here before via Priceline and love it- it's a beautiful property and a great deal. Also, as the only current 4* in the zone, you are basically bidding on just this hotel!
  7. Booked this car. Happy with the result, but it is very pricey this time of year in Florida (the same car in early December was $11 instead of $27!). With the taxes and fees, it came to approximately $230. Booking directly through Avis.com would cost a whopping $530, and even on Hotwire the price was $340.
  8. Started at $9 and worked up incrementally. Total comes to $78.99 for four days. Pleased with result.
  9. Happy with results. Started at $11 and worked up from there. Total comes to $60.53.
  10. Last minute hotel reservation.... I started the bidding at $60, and it counter offered at $77, so there were many 4 star rebid zones that I was able to incrementally increase the bid. With the taxes, it comes to $82. Pretty good considering direct booking through the hotel website was $139 plus taxes. *******Please note: the Omni hotel was demoted from 4 star to 3 star in the past, and it is now back to 4 star. Please update the Priceline hotel list to reflect this change. Thanks!
  11. Very excited about this win- probably the lowest I've ever paid for a rental car, let alone full size. Of course, $11/day doesnt include all the taxes and fees, which actually doubles the price total to $143. Interesting to note that although Hotwire had a full size for the same dates for a higher daily rate, their taxes and fees must be lower, because it was only $1 more in total.
  12. Very happy with the result- this is one of the hotels that I was hoping to get, and a big savings compared to the $429 direct booking price or $360 cheapest Internet deal I found. Slightly frustrated that the one weekend I have commitments to be in NYC seems to be the most expensive weekend to stay in a hotel in Manhattan, but C'est la Vie! I was trying for Midtown East or ESB (didn't want the Sheraton so avoided MTW) and did $10 increments from 120 up. I apologize for forgetting to use the better bidding portal window and will remember to do so next time!
  13. I don't use the links all the time because often I have "bonus cash".
  14. Does anyone have any idea what event(s) are going on 10/20-10/21? I am having a difficult time getting a 4* in Manhattan at $200 despite much lower bids being accepted every week except this one. Anyone with any insight, your thoughts would be appreciated! (Should I avoid NYC that weekend?)
  15. With taxes and fees, the total is $484, but there is a $20 resort fee per day, which makes the total $564. While this is by far not the biggest steal I've gotten on PRICELINE, even pre-purchasing paid in advance through the hotel website the total is $689, so that's a nice savings, plus I was able to use a $30 PRICELINE rewards coupon to reduce my fees to $105 a day. This is a great hotel to bid on if you are looking for somewhere in the SW Florida area because it is currently the ONLY known resort in the Bonita Springs subzone and there are many many resort-free rebid zone classes so for many weeks I was hunting down this hotel specifically.
  16. Unfortunately, I have since learned at this hotel that even though with a regularly booked reservation that you can leave your car in the parking lot while you are away, they are not honoring that with Priceline reservations, so the hotel reservation has become effectively worthless to me. Keep that in mind if you are trying to do the same thing.
  17. Did not accept bids at $40, $46. With taxes and fees come to approx $66. Checking the hotel website directly rate is $119 plus tax for same evening. Very happy with hotel and results.
  18. Thrilled to have gotten a minivan at Ft. Lauderdale for $27/day. Daily charges add up to $216, taxes and fees add an additional $105.28, for a total of $321.28. The lowest retail rate I could find was $407, and Hotwire was $368.
  19. Aaron, Even if you look at the biggest traffic periods, it is highly unusual for Hotwire to be the same or cheaper option than Priceline. In addition, if you check the archives, even at "premium times" such as summer holiday weekends in previous years, Christmas, etc etc, people are not paying $115 dollars a night. It just doesn't add up for me, and I don't buy that it is just a "busy period"- especially when the Hotwire rates are not especially high this weekend. I will keep trying at a low rate, hoping that closer to the dates maybe something will be available, or else I will have to go Hotwire (for the first time- yikes!). Thanks for the comments, though!
  20. Looking to get a 4* hotel in Downtown Toronto South (preferred) or North for 5/26/11-5/30/11. I was very encouraged by the previous winning bids in Toronto both recently and at the same time I'm interested in the year before, and by the number of rebids you could do to really maximize your opportunities for bidding in Toronto. Unfortunately, rebidding even up to $110 has gotten me nothing! I don't know if I've ever seen a bid higher than $110 in the archives for Toronto. I'm really surprised. I checked the Tourism Bureau Calendar of Events, the convention calendars for the area, even the local university graduation schedules and I can't find a reason why locally the rooms should be more expensive than usual. It is a holiday weekend in the US (not in Canada) but the previous Memorial Day weekend, bids were accepted much lower. If anyone has any suggestions, or knows why this is such a hot weekend, Id love to hear it. I think that I will have to wait to try again closer to the dates.... or <sigh> settle for using Hotwire <gasp>!
  21. Aaron, This property is still not on an updated list of Priceline New Jersey hotels. Could we please add it to the list? Thanks!
  22. Aaron and Manda, Just wanted to add that you are not crazy- I have been having a very hard time getting a hotel in Toronto for May 26- May 30. Toronto is so easy to re-bid and I would like a 4* hotel in Toronto Downtown South. I have bid from $55 up to $95 using $1 increments from $71 up and have not gotten a hotel, which I am really surprised as the board is filled with reports from other travelers easily getting bids accepted in the $70-$90 range (even when you look back at entries from May of last year). So I have no choice at this point but to try again in the future- perhaps it is just too early for hotels to commit to what rates they want.
  23. Forgot to include the dates: 1/20/11- 1/21/11. Great price on a room that would have cost $119! Unfortunately, could not find any previous bid records for Downtown Trenton, so I didn't have a starting point except for comparing to suburban Trenton hotels. So I started at $45 as a guess and it worked! Don't know how much cheaper I could have gone, but guess not too much.
