  1. A while back PL stopped displaying when you have been upgraded to a higher category room. This really screwed up lists of possible hotels in areas... Well, good news is PL started displaying this information again! And it's even "retroactive"... Look at some of your older reservations and you will see that this information is there now.
  2. One word... SWEET! Have no idea why this hotel is rated 3***... Should be 4****. Beautiful building, nice location right across the street from the bay, with walking/jogging paths all along the bay. Gorgeous atrium! There's a free shuttle from the airport that leaves every 10 to 15 minutes. Took about 15 minutes to get to the hotel, with a stop at the Marriott. No mention of Priceline at check-in. (VERY important to me...). Just a "Your room has already been paid for, all we need is a credit card for incidentals". I was given a choice of one king bed, or two twins. Smoking or non-smoking. Ended up in a high-floor inside-room facing the beautiful courtyard. The room is big and comfortable. Bed is just like how i like it... Firm! Bathroom clean, and all in working order. There is a "balcony" overlooking the atrium. With the door open you feel kind of like you're outside. No troubling noice, although there was plenty of people in the restaurants and bars downstairs. Pool area is alright. Nothing to write home about. Descent fitness facility with plenty of cardio equipment and free weights. The town of Burlingame is within walking distance... at least for me. Took me about 10-15 minutes to get there. A few restaurants, ice cream parlors, a health food store, beauty salons, a deli, dry cleaning and your basic services. Oh... and a SUBWAY! (A big + for me...) Oh, and here comes the best part... FREE WIRELESS INTERNET! All in all - enjoyed my stay. Would DEFINITELY come back again... Hope you enjoy it as well. Here's the hotel's website: http://sanfranciscoairport.hyatt.com/prope...rty/index.jhtml
  3. Hi Kristi... There are a couple of La Quinta Inns in the Fort Lauderdale area. I guess you are talking about the one on Cypress Creek Rd. This one is a good 15 minute drive to the beach, depending on traffic. Location is not the best - mix of business and "trash-town" but with plenty of fast food and such around. Not a neighborhood for walking around at night, but also not one where you have to worry about your car getting broken into. (I think I just took home to "Most Vague" prize!!!) How much do they want for it? And when are you travelling? Will you have a car? You may be able to find something a little better for the same money if you are willing to drive another 10 minutes... something in plantation or weston, or even the airport area. DeltaPurser
  4. Alright, I know it's a little late to post this one, but for what it's worth, here it is... First bid: San Francisco Airport Zone $33 - accepted - The Hyatt Regency SFO Rate on Hyatt.com - $149 per night. I'm in my room right now... beautiful room with a "balcony" overlooking the atrium. Gorgeous! (I like that word, btw...) Going down to the pool now, but will write a review later... Yours Truly, DeltaPurser
  5. i actually got the room i had booked... the better one. even though i doubt there are any bad rooms in this place... gorgeous!!!!!
  6. You want to look for the intersection of A1A and Las Olas Blvd. That's where it starts, and then it goes up the beach for a few blocks... Beach Place is an outdoor mall with places like Hooters, Cafe Iguana, Sloppy Joe's, etc. Check out www.sunny.org for some tips, maps and stuff... it's the official page of the convention & visitors burear. even has a live webcam of the beach that i like to look at sometimes when i'm stuck in some god-forsaken cold town... be good!
  7. I don't know the exact dates any more, but I had a "situation" involving Starwood (Sheraton, Westin, W, etc.) that took some work... I needed a room at the Westin Bellevue in Dresden, Germany a few months ago. I had shopped around and found a rate of 130 Euros on Expedia. The lowest rate on Westin.com was about 139. Not a big difference... But, me being the smart one, I booked the rate on Westin.com and immediately filed a claim against their Best Rate Guarantee... (They will get you the lower rate, AND refund you 10% of the lower rate). Well, I too was fed the "the room you booked on westin.com is not exactly the same as the one on Expedia"-line. They were right... And they admitted that the Expedia room was actually BETTER than the one I had gotten directly thru westin. To make a long story short, I didn't take no for an answer... Wrote back. Received another refusal. Wrote again. Another refusal. Wrote again (this time with some threats... Like I'm ever going to' hurt someone!), and this time it worked... Got the lower rate and the $13. Moral of the story is... Keep at it!
  8. I guess the only question I can help with is #1... First off... you've got two Sheratons on the beach in FLL... The Yankee Clipper is south of Las Olas Blvd, and the Yankee Trader is north of Las Olas. And then there is, of course, the Holiday Inn, which is a little bit futher up the beach from the Yankee Trader... If by "the nightlife" you mean the bars and clubs on A1A (the strip along the beach), then you will be happy with either hotel... They are both about a 20 minute walk away. If, on the other hand you are talking about the restaurants and shops on Las Olas Blvd, then neither of the hotels are within walking distance. To get there you'd have to take a cab. (Maybe 10 minute ride, if even that...) I have staid at both the Holiday Inn and the Yankee Trader, and I would say they are both about the same... 3* hotels. To be honest, the Sheraton Yankee Trader is a little bit run down, but then again the Holiday Inn is no resort either. For my money, I'd save the extra $30 and spend it on dinner... or drinks. If, on the other hand, you have access to the Sheraton Yankee Trader... You"ll save about 10 minutes of walking to get to the "beach action". If the other two hotels are 3*, then I'd give this one 3.75*. A little nicer, but probably a bit pricier as well... As far as checkin-in and -out of a hotel so save a few bucks... Not worth the hassle. Figure in having to take a cab, packing and unpacking, arriving too early for check-in... I wouldn't do it. But that's just an old bag talking... Either way - have a great time and enjoy the beautiful beaches!!! DeltaPurser

  10. 1 night... Started bidding at $35 and worked my way up using free re-bids. Accepted at $40 - Hilton Airport. Lowest rate at Hilton.com was $179.
  11. Thanks! I'm looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship...
  12. First bid for $55 was counteroffered - add $12. Instead I added the west zone and bid $61 which was accepted...
  13. Hi WillTravel... Just had a couple of questions for you regarding your Berlin bid... For what dates was this? (You mentioned it's a few months out...) and am understanding it correct when you say your bid (for exactly the same dates) a few days earlier, although higher ($66) was rejected with a counteroffer? I have stayed there a few times and they will treat you very well. Great hotel! Breakfast is expensive though... 23 EUR. per person!!!
