  1. It must have sold out -- was there when i posted. Can you tell me which hotel that is in case it pops back up? thanks.
  2. Need help identifying the following hotel in West Hollywood via Hotwire. Best match is your description of Petit Ermitage, but that hotel shows ZERO availability from their web site 4-star Hotel in Sunset Blvd - West Hollywood area Sun, Dec 31 - Mon, Jan 01 Rate: $280 per night Amenities Boutique hotelBusiness centerChildren's activitiesInternet accessPet friendlyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Smoke-free roomsSpa services
  3. OK, not the best win ever, but decent. I had bid up to 160 something yesterday without success. First bid today was 122, then added free rebid zone and bid $132 and got it. Cheapest rate on their web site is 218 and lowest express deal on PL is 212. Hope this helps somebody!
  4. I went ahead and bid on PRICELINE for it rather than the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. I assume it is the same hotel, but i guess its not 100% certain. Its the Sentinal, a Provenance Hotel and we got it for $71/night. They have us down in a King room right now. They said its $40 extra/night for 2 beds, so since this was more than half the room fee, I just had them note we want 2 beds and hopefully they can accomodate us when we get there. If anyone has any strategy recommendations for finagling a 2 bed room, let me know. Thanks.
  5. We ended up staying elsewhere and didn't pull the trigger on this -- sorry we can't help ID this one.
  6. Hi there, In priceline I'm seeing a hotel in Portland - downtown for $81 a night from 6/30 - 7/2. Amenities: - pets Allowed - Business Center - Fitness Center Any idea which hotel this is? Thanks!
  7. Sorry about that. Our stay was Wednesday, 3/6/13. I do not remember the amenities as I was mainly going for price and location -- we just needed a place to sleep for the night nearest the cottonwood canyons ski areas. Thanks!
  8. Hey there, avid BB user and now that Priceline has combined so many zones in the Palm Springs area, I'm now trying to use Hotwire to get a good room. We are looking to stay just one night tomorrow, 5/10-511 in palm springs, Ideally Indian wells area depending on the hotel available. Currently this one is showing (yes, used the BB HOTWIRE link) for $132 a night, but I am not sure which property it is. We really don't want the miramonte and I fear thats what it is Resort Pet friendly Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower >>> Any idea which one this is?? There is also one for $103 in Rancho Mirage - Palm Desert with these amenities: Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking >>> Any help with this one?? Thanks all!
  9. Hey there, Was targeting the above area for a single night stay during a ski trip. Did the bidding thing for a 3* in that area up to $58 using 2 free rebid zones with no success. I took a risk on their instant deal for a 2* at $36 as I was sick of bidding. Got this hotel: Extended StayAmerica Union Park Not bad, should work for a no frills overnight stay. What was booked was a single queen bed, paying $10 upgrade for 2 beds. used the BB PRICELINE link.
  10. A couple years ago I got the hyatt grand champions, which couldn't be better for the tourney, but last year got westin mission hills which is far away and not very nice. I think it was for $75 but i probably got hit with a resort fee. You should be able to find something at that price range with your area flexibility.

  12. I had already bid up to $97 using the free re-bid zones prior to my original posting. We ended up cancelling the stay since we were unable to get a win. We live an hour away, so we just drove home late. Thanks!
  13. Maximum bid 90 zone: hollywood. I always use your PRICELINE links, even when i don't ask for help. :)
  14. Well, its today and we dont want to spend more than $100 all in if possible. Are day of bids usually better or worse for price? Thanks
  15. We did not use PRICELINE -- we booked a great ocean view place directly with an owner that was recommended by our next door neighbors.
  16. We just booked directly with red rock on this trip as PRICELINE's data wasn't reliable. thanks!
  17. Used free 4* rebid zones of culver, inglewood, lawndale and usc with no success. Tuesday is not a holiday and its expected to rain, so I thought we would get an easy win. Any advice? I'd gladly add west hollywood/beverly hills as we'd really prefer to stay in weho, but it includes century city and it seems people have been mostly winning hotels there. We don't want to stay in century city. any advice is appreciated. I used the bb link to PRICELINE as always!
  18. OK, so we changed our dates and are just going to stay Friday night due tot he difficulty in getting rooms.... Got the Paradise Point Resort And Spa for $101. Initial bid was 91 for sand diego coastal 4*, Priceline asked us to move it to 119 to get the room, we declined and kept bidding up with all the free rebid zones until it finally popped at 101. 100 was probably the minimum they would take. Their lowest rate on their web site for the same night is $395. We used the betterbidding.com PRICELINE link of course. :) Seems like Saturday night is near impossible, but if you want to stay on Friday night this is what you can get in this zone. I hope its not terrrible!
  19. Yes, I am trying to book those days too and having no luck. There is a large girls youth basketball tournament happening and someone mentioned an LGBT conference. I am bidding almost to 200 looking at 4* and above in 3 zones (plus all the rebids) and having no luck. Lets stay in touch and if anyone has success, let us know ofr know if you found some halfway decent lodging elsewhere.
  20. Hi there, We frequently use Priceline and this forum for securing hotel rooms and it works great! However, we are planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas and when I look at priceline, there are 3 territories in cabo and they all have the same level of properties. Therefore, I do not see any free re-bid zones. Any recommended strategies? I think we want to stay in the corridor area. Also, if anyone has a recommended hotel, I am all ears. Its my wif and I plus 2 tween/teen daughters. We want somewhere where we can use the beach, not too trashy/party-ish but able to go into town without a long car or taxi ride. thanks!!
  21. Hi there, Are there any other resorts currently active in Vegas/Summerlin > Resorts other than Red Rock? We have some family staying at Red Rock on the weekend of 8/26 and would like to priceline a room and meet them if possible. I see several fairly recent wins for Red Rock under resort/summerlin, but the hotel list shows jw marriott as well. The last win i see for the JW is something like 07. Still active or is RedRock a safe bet to win? We'd hate to get the JW by accident. Does the board moderator or anyone else have any knowledge on this? Thanks. The bidding seems prime for this as there are something like 14 other zones that do not have a "resort" listed.
  22. Rani, we bid on PRICELINE to go out to la quinta all the time. For a long while hyatt grand champions was the hotel we were getting and it is our preferred hotel, but it appears they are not putting rooms on PL anymore. Right now it seems la quinta is the one that is active and its only a 5 minute drive away. you cannot go wrong either way. my advice is to make your best cancellable normal reservation somewhere now and then watch this forum to see what people are winning as it gets closer to your dates. unfortunately there is no way to know exactly what you get before bidding.
  23. Congrats - that's a huge upgrade! The standard rooms are pretty crappy and the Spa villas are very nice. I paid about $300 a night for one of those once on my wife's birthday. We have not been going out to La Quinta since Hyatt Grand Champions seems to not be doing Priceline anymore. I would go out in a heartbeat if I thought we could get the spa villa for the PL price. Any tips on the approach there, desk agents, etc.? Thanks.
  24. Just reporting a win to help others. We started our bid using the Betterbidding PRICELINE link as always. We have stayed at Hyatt Grand Champions many times through PL/BB now and it is a great priceline hotel. Highly recommended! The lobby was previously under construction, but it is finished now and its really nice with outdoor seating around firepits, etc. - very modern in style. They have a kids pool area with a small water slide and a very nice, separate adults area for the parents to sneak away to. Separate enough to be quiet, but close enough that you or the kids can check in periodically. Soul recharging. We stayed here during the BNP Paribas open and were given a Casita at no extra charge due to being polite when some rude customers stepped in front of us (nice touch by the desk agent). Usually we get a "mountain view" room in the main building that does not face the pool. It sounds less desirable, but we find that its quieter since its not on the pool side and if you request a room higher up, you have a fantastic view of the Santa Rosa mountains in the morning and at dusk -- really really nice. Anyway, as for the bid we bid as follows: Yesterday - $58, 61, 63 -- did not get it, but were offered to increase our bid to $78 and bid again. From experience I knew that meant we would get it for less if we retried. Today we bid $65 using another account and got it on the first try. With all taxes plus the mandatory $23 daily resort fee, that brings the total in right around $400 for 4 nights. See you in the desert....
