Hi : I had a similar experience as this winning priceline bid for the Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma.
Ist bid : 3* Napa- Sonoma (Napa) - 7/31 and 8/1 (Thurs. and Fri.) - $140.
Turned down. Was offered to lock in at $220. I refused.
Re-bid : Added Napa-Sonoma (Sonoma) - * level for Sonoma automatically raised to : 3 to 4* - Raised my bid to $150.
Bid accepted.
Napa and Sonoma are both great for a getaway, so I did not mind which one I would get. I was delighted to get this hotel at that price.
The night before our arrival, I called and asked if the room was preassigned. I was told it was not and I requested a king room, if possible. When we checked in, we found out we had been upgraded to a cottage room! Those usually start at $350.
Cheers!
Not all passes are valid by themselves on all SF MUNI rides...
There is a monthly pass, a weekly pass and a weekly passport... plus tokens...

You could even take the occasional cab and spend less than you would for parking in SF.
My friend may or may not want to chance it, but I will give her the information and let you know the result if she decides to go for it.
