  3. This bid was for a friend going on a business trip. He didn't want to go through rebidding techniques, etc. since he never used priceline before and was pretty skeptical. He actually told me to put in $170 and I thought that was ridiculous. So negtioated with my friend to put in a bid for $130. Got accepted. 6. I believe it's in addition to my stay for 9/3-9/5, depending on my friend... I'll post bidding histories for it a little later, but I have not been successful up to $120 for MTW/MTE/CPS.
  7. Bidding History 1. 4* MTW - $95 (counteroffer= +$22) 2. 4* MTW + UES - $98 (counteroffer= +$22) 3. 4* MTW +UWS - $100 (counteroffer= +$22) 4. 4* MTW + UES + UWS- $105 Accepted
  8. Thanks for such a quick reply! I have used savings-barn the last time too! So, let me get this correct. The entire list would be 1. A 2. A+C 3. A+D 4. A+C+D 5. B 6. B+A 7. B+C 8. B+C+D 9. A+B+C+D And every time I can just go back to the homepage and start a new bid?
  9. Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to maxmize my free rebids (link). Let's say I want to stay in MTW or MTE, 4*. So, how should my bidding strategy work? A. MTW, 4* B. MTE, 4* C. UES, free rebid D. UWS, free rebid 1. A 2. A+B 3. A+C 4. A+D 5. A+B+C 6. A+B+D 7. A+C+D 8. A+B+C+D Is this list correct? The thing I'm most unsure of when is I should 'rebid' or start a totally new bid. Do I only rebid at (2) and (8)? Do I start totally new bids for the others?
  10. Forgot to post that this indeed turned out to be the Rickey's Hyatt Hotel. However, after staying there, it should be called a motel...
  11. Hi, I'm checking Hotwire for those dates, and I see a 3* for $55. It has a restaurant, pool, and fitness center. Is this the Rickey's, Hyatt? Thanks for quick replies as I need to book something now!
  12. Hi, today I bid $130 for the Wyndham - for 3/19-3/22 and 3 rooms. I first did $125, and it wasn't accepted.
  13. Got 3 rooms for $113 plus taxes each room. 4* Caribe Hilton Customer Favorite Amenities: Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Tennis, Spa
  14. Hi, I'd like report my biddings: First, we bid $125 for resort-level and got rejected. Received a $22 counter-offer and decided not to take. Then we rebid $130 and got the Wyndham! So here are the results: 3/19-3/22 Wyndham Condado: $130 3/22-3/26 Caribe Hilton: $113 Here is a link to the HOTWIRE DETAILS. We are very pleased with results! Plus we used the savingsbarn.com link. Thanks a lot for your help!
  15. Just a few quick questions, we're going to book on hotwire for the hilton on 3/22-3/26. Can we have 4 people per room? Can we call the hotel immediately and ask for two beds per room? Also, are there extra taxes that will be charged upon arrival?
  16. Oh sorry, let me clarify. I am willing to bid for the Wyndham Condado for the 3 nights. I was just wondering that, since Hotwire wouldn't let us book 3 rooms for the Condado, what are the chances that priceline will have 3 rooms available for us? And what should our bidding strategy be? Thanks for the advice.
  17. I was checking hotwire, and if we book 1 room, then it seems to be the Condado. But if we book 3 rooms, it seems to be the Wyndham Old San Juan Hotel and Casino at a higher price. Are Hotwire's inventories the same or linked with Priceline's? We'd like to get a resort and 3 rooms is a definite must since we are a group. What bidding price should we start at (we have different cards to do multiple bids)?
  18. Yes, we are going for resort level. Do you think we could get a win with a lower bid? Is it possible that inventories haven't been sent to priceline yet? However, it could be risky we don't get anything soon. Also, do you think if we win at $130, it'll be the Wyndam? I've heard a lot of bad things about that place, i.e. 22% tax upon arrival even though people paid taxes with priceline. I've never used Hotwire, so is it possible that the $132/nite be the Hilton, Marriot, or InterContinnental?
  19. Hi, I'm trying to bid for a resort-level hotel specifically in the San Juan area. We are trying to book the week with 3 rooms. Our last bid was $120, and priceline came with the option to raise it $22 to $142. We haven't taken it yet because we're hoping to get the bid for a max of $130. What do you suggest?
