  1. Was able to get the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa for December 5 to 8, 2015 for $105 per night. My initial bid of $100 was rejected, but countered by Priceline with $150. I declined, added a free re-bid zone, and submitted for $105. Bid was accepted. I'm pretty happy with the win. Even with the resort fee of $30/day, this is a great deal (going for $199/night on all the travel sites). Offer price: $105.00/night Adjusted room price (bid) with Hotel Fee Credit: $103.26/night Hotel fee: $94.23 Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 3 nights Room subtotal: $315.00 Taxes & fees: $60.93 Hotel fee credit: - $5.23 Total charged today: $370.70 Hotel fee: $94.23 Total cost: $464.93 Savings: You saved 48%*
  2. I started my bidding at 3.5* for the Auburn Hills-Pontiac area at $45 per night. The initial offer was rejected, but was offered a free re-bid for $7 more per night. I re-bidded at $52 and the offer was accepted. Good deal considering the rate on Hotels.com for my nights was almost $100 per night.
  3. I was trying different December dates on Hotwire and came across an ABSOLUTELY CRAZY deal. A 3* in MTE for $59 a night! That's unheard of!
  4. Bid $50 for a 3.5* in Buffalo (Amherst), offer was rejected. Counter offer of $64. Added re-bid zone (East Niagara Falls), increased bid to $56. Offer rejected. Added re-bid zone (Niagara Falls), increased bid to $57. Offer accepted. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $57.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $114.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $24.36 (USD) Total Room Cost: $138.36 (USD)
  5. My date of stay is August 16, 2009 - one night. Yeah I realize a 2.5 TA rating is bad, but I'm curious as to which hotel this is. Thanks!
  6. Hotwire is showing a 2.5* hotel in Monterey with the following amenities: Complimentary breakfast, pool, business center, laundry, and high speed internet. Anyone have any idea what it is? It doesn't match with anything on the hotel list, and I can't seem to match it up with anything on TripAdvisor (it says it's rated 2.5 stars with 20+ reviews, last review in April). Any help would be appreciated!
  7. Started bidding at $70 in the SOMA-Moscone Center area - rejected Added Union Square East, increased bid to $72 - rejected Added Union Square West-Nob Hill, increased bid to $74 - rejected Added Fisherman's Wharf, increased bid to $76 - rejected Added Embarcadero, increased to $78 - rejected Added Civic Center, increased to $79 - accepted That last bid was a last ditch effort for the night. So glad it got accepted! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $79.00 Subtotal: $316.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $58.70 Total Charges*: $374.70 I used the forum's PRICELINE link. This board is the best!
  8. Started bidding at $85 for 4-star in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood area - rejected. Added Santa Monica-Marina Del Rey and upped my bid to $90 - rejected. Down-graded to 3.5-star and bid $88 - accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $88.00 Subtotal: $352.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $60.69 Total Charges*: $412.69 I used the PRICELINE link on this forum for my bidding. Thanks to the board! I'm pretty happy about the win! (Except the expensive valet parking).
  9. Started bidding at $48, and increased bids in various $2-$3 increments. I didn't want to go higher than $65, so this was a last ditch bid for the night. And what do you know, it gets accepted by Le Royal Meridien King Edward. I used the PRICELINE quick search link provided at the top right. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$65.00 Subtotal: US$65.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$16.33 Total Charges: US$81.33
  10. Started bidding at $50 for 4* in Downtown Toronto only. Immediately received a counter offer to raise my bid by $14. I rejected the offer and went up in varying $1 and $2 increments with the many free re-bid zones. Eventually got accepted at $59 by the Marriott Bloor Yorkville. Cheapest rate on the hotel website for this date is $199. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$59.00 Subtotal: US$59.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$15.45 Total Charges: US$74.45
  11. Just to update about my search for a 4* hotel, I was able to win the Intercontinental Barclay for $143/night! In case anyone was wondering, I won my bid about 2 weeks ago when others were winning the Barclay for the same nights. I used the strategy listed above and I used this site's PRICELINE links. Thanks a lot!
  12. Thanks for the tip on the Desmond Tutu Center. I'll have to think about it because, as you mentioned, it's a little out of the way. I was hoping to stay in a more central location. Would my chances be much better if I went up to say $175? What bidding strategy would I use then? Thanks!
  13. I'm looking for a 4* hotel in MTE, MTW, TS, ESB or CPS for Aug 10 to Aug 13. Looking to spend $150 to $160 per night - is this reasonable for this time of year? I've been trying the following bidding strategy the past couple of days from a different thread, but to no avail: Any help would be much appreciated! :)
  14. Hey guys, thanks for help! I just got the Courtyard Lyndhurst 2.5* for 5/13 to 5/18 for $81 per night. Your Offer Price: $81.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 5 Subtotal: $405.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $74.76 Total Charges*: $479.76 Bidding went as follows: 2-star, Jersey City - $83 (REJECTED) 2-star, Meadowlands - $81 (ACCEPTED) - upgraded to 2.5*
  15. Thanks for the help! Quick question though - if I do have a car and stay in the Meadowlands-Rutherford area, what are my transportation options to Manhattan?
  16. Hi, I need bidding assistance for a 2.5* or 3* hotel in Secaucus-North Bergen or Jersey City, 5/13 to 5/18. My budget is around $85 per night, which probably makes the 3* a bit unrealistic, but what I really want is a 2.5* in Secaucus (i.e. Courtyard, Amerisuites, etc). I know it will be tough to get 5 straight nights, but any help would be much appreciated! I have considered splitting, but wanted some advice before I give that a try.
