We decided to add a night to this reservation in light of the promise by email to "Add Nights for the Same Rate" but when I attempted this it stated that the best rate would be $67 rather than $55. In light of the great rate we got on the first night we opted to accept this. I have never done this before. I'm now curious if this promise of the same rate ever actually works. Anyone have experience with this?

We got here around 4:30 in the afternoon and they have complimentary wine and beer, as well as appetizers in the restaurant right off of the lobby. It was ok, not grand, but for the price we paid, I felt the hotel and amenities was more than sufficient. We also got to explore downtown a bit after checking in. My first bid was at $52 and I was expecting something else, since I had booked this hotel last November under 2.5 star and got it then for $47. My plan was to bid again at $47 at the 2.5 star level if the 3 star failed, but I got it immediately, and was surprised to see that Priceline had upgraded the hotel from 2.5 to 3. Checked in and was only there thirty minutes when a fire was found in the spa on the second floor. We were on the sixth floor. I had to get my Dad of 87 dressed and down seven flights of stairs .. First floor was locked so went out the back basement!
What an experience! Two hours outside in the brutal cold. What fun!
First bid was rejected at $45 with an immediate offer to raise the bid to $57 and try again. Rather than do this I added 3 star to the 3.5 star already bid, and set the price to $50 and got it.
The rooms going direct to their site are $156 per room with taxes. This is quite obviously an excellent win and hopefully it will also be an excellent stay. This hotel is rated #1 on TripAdvisor!
