  1. Seems like this doesn't match the amenities from a recent purchase of the same hotel (see this Richmond Hotwire hotel thread). But the only amenities listed for me were Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, and High-Speed Internet Access. 6624 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA, 23230
  2. I just jumped on this offer too. Same hotel, but for 5/6-5/9, $85 a night. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me!
  3. Used HOTWIRE link. Was pretty sure it was the Baymont and it was. Location seemed decent enough for what I needed, and the price was sure right! 5485 N Port Washington Rd, Glendale, WI, 53217 Hotel rate per night:$33.00 Nights:2 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$66.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$15.72 Total price:$81.72 Hotwire.com 2-star hotel in Glendale This hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby
  4. This is a match for the Holiday Inn Downtown at 506 West Harrison Street. I just booked a Hotwire Hotel matching those amenities.
  5. 3-star hotel in West Loop - Medical District - UIC This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Chicago-Downtown, IL 506 West Harrison Street, Chicago, IL, 60607 Apparently this zone isn't recommended for tourists (presumably for convenience reasons?), but I rolled the dice anyway and it seems like I got fairly lucky, since the Holiday Inn seems to be a decent location, right by the Blue Line.
  6. The Westin Los Angeles Airport 5400 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, 90045 (310) 216-5858 Amenities Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access (used HOTWIRE link to purchase)
  7. Yeah, that does look most likely. I think I saw that right away when I started looking, but thought it was out of the Hotwire downtown zone for some reason. Now that I look again, it looks like it's in the zone. Not sure if 2 double beds would fit 4 adults very well though... thanks!
  8. I searched the hotel list as well as this forum, and didn't find a 3* hotel matching these amenities in the "Downtown Columbus - Arena District" zone: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access It's coming up for $63 a night when I search 6/25 - 6/28 on HOTWIRE. Traveler rating (Tripadvisor) 3.0 out of 5 Based on 20+ customer reviews (Last reviewed April 2009) The only hotel I found matching all of that is the Hyatt Regency (350 North High Street), but when I search on hyatt.com it says that hotel is sold out. The next closest seems to be the "Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Downtown" but as far as I can tell that doesn't accommodate 4 people per room, which is what I put in my Hotwire search. This also seems like a possibility: Doubletree Guest Suites (50 S. Front Street) None of these has an airport shuttle though, as far as I can tell. Any ideas?? Thanks!
  9. Booked using HOTWIRE link: Amenities Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  10. Yeah...and I felt WAY underdressed when I checked in! :) Room didn't even have an HDTV though. Some five stars! Location was decent, once you havigated all the one ways.
  11. I just booked a 5* in downtown Houston, it may or may not be the same one from this thread, but mine was the Four Seasons. Mine had the restaurant icon though. Four Seasons Hotwire
  12. Used HOTWIRE link to purchase: Four Seasons Houston (1300 Lamar St) 5-star hotel in Downtown Houston This hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access
  13. Does anyone know what might be listed for a 3* in Houston-Channelview for $69 a night from 4/30-5/4? Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities I don't see a reference to the Channelview zone anywhere? Is this a new zone or did it used to be called something else? Or has HOTWIRE just never had much in that zone? Thanks!! Also, is this a decent zone to stay or is downtown better? There's a 4* downtown for $82 a night for the same date range. I'm flying in and out of IAH, will be out in the Pasadena/Deer Creek area for a fair amount of the weekend.
  14. Just booked this using HOTWIRE link. $37 per night + $10.69 tax/fees = total out of pocket $84.69 This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access
  15. I'm seeing a 4* Dallas (Airport DFW North - Grapevine) for $59 and am trying to pin down which hotel is it. Amenities listed are shuttle, pool, business, hi-speed, fitness, restaurant, laundry + customer favorite. On the hotel list that looks most like the Westin (although some of those amenities are now crossed off?) but it doesn't list either of them as a customer favorite. Does anyone know if the Westin is a Hotwire customer favorite?? Thanks!
  16. This Hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Laundry Facilities <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Kitchenette Accommodations include a stovetop or microwave oven, a sink and a mini-refrigerator. Not the best deal I guess but this trip is getting close and I wanted to get my hotel squared away. And free breakfast, wi-fi, and kitchenette will save money anyway. Now I guess we can solve the mystery from this thread: Hotwire Seattle I did use the HOTWIRE link to start the purchase. Thanks!
  17. I'm having the same issue 8/3-8/6, though I've only gone up to about $90 so far. Maybe just a busy time and high occupancy overall?
  18. I'm still looking for a good bargain on Hotwire or Priceline. I booked the one-bedroom at the Pod Hotel as a backup, so I'm only looking for stuff under about $130, which looks like it's possible but fairly rare in the Midtown zones.
  19. Looks like this may be a new addition to your list. I probably shouldn't have bid quite so high, but I'd bid for the past week up to $69, decided to go up to $75 and was accepted! If you need more info on the hotel, let me know. Tremont Plaza Hotel Check-In Date: Wednesday, June 27, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thursday, June 28, 2007 Inner Harbor Area - Downtown 222 St. Paul Place Baltimore, Maryland 21202 410-727-2222 Your Offer Price: $75.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $75.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.39 Total Charges*: $92.39
  20. OK that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info. Is there a star level I can safely stay at in Jersey City? Or would I have to try to ID the specific hotel to find out what location it is? Are there any kind of magic numbers that I should jump on if I see them for these dates? Like a 3* Midtown under $160 or something like that. I'm not even sure what's realistic at this point - I've seen some pretty low Midtown rates on here, but I'm sure that's the exception. Thanks.
  21. I think I probably can afford more, but I'm trying to be as thrifty as possible, so I was hoping to start low and maybe creep higher later if I have to. I don't need any kind of luxury, but I really don't want to get stuck in a dump either. Does that mean I should only go for 2.5* (or 3*) and up, or what kinds of hotels do I get for 2* in the Midtown zones? I was looking at booking the Pod Hotel as a cancellable backup, they have a single available for $149 for 4 nights and $129 for 1 night. I know it's a shared bath and I'm OK with that - I've been in Europe a few times. :) The bottom line is I can probably easily afford up to $150 or $160 a night, but I don't know if I could justify spending that when I could spend half that to stay in Jersey City or LGA, etc. If I'm anywhere near a bus or subway stop, it won't really cost anything to get into the city since I'll probably buy the 7-day Metrocard for $24. Is the biggest risk not getting near one of these stops? That would be a problem. Thanks again - I've been reading around here and there's a lot of good information!
  22. This is my first time to New York, and I'm pretty overwhelmed trying to find the best option for me without paying too much. I want to try to keep it under $100 a night if possible, but don't really want to stay in Newark, where most of the cheap Hotwire results seem to be. I think I'd prefer to stay right in Manhattan (MTS, MTC, or MTE) if I could, so I don't have to waste a lot of my time getting into the city, but the best I can find for those zones is around $200. Today I saw a 3* come up in LGA-Flushing for $99 a night. Here's the information I hope you need to identify it: LaGuardia Airport LGA - Flushing Area: Budget-friendly option in northwest Queens, close to sports venues Hotel Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access $99 per room per night; Retail: $179.00; You save: $80.00 Total price for your trip Best Value! Rooms:1 Nights:5 Rate per night::$99.00 Subtotal:$495.00 Taxes And Fees:$93.41 Total:$588.41 I know this would definitely be a good deal for a 3* in the Midtown zones, but I'm not sure what I should expect in the LGA zone. I am flying into LGA and am going to a Mets game, so it would be convenient for those, but I'm also doing plenty of other things all around the city (tourist stuff) so I want to make sure I can easily get anywhere in town for not too much money. I'd appreciate any advice in general, and what you think about this deal. I'm willing to try Priceline, but I'm nervous about getting stuck in a crappy hotel. Thanks!!
