  1. I began with your PRICELINE link. Bid 65 - rejected Added rebid zone and bid 70 - rejected Added rebid zone and bid 75 - rejected Added rebid zone and bid 78 - rejected Added rebid zone and bid 80 - ACCEPTED Website rate for these dates is $130/night. I won this hotel the last time I visited Vancouver and was very pleased with the hotel. One great advantage is that it is just one block away from the Burrard rail station (which is great since there is lots of rain in Vancouver this time of the year!).
  2. I began with your PRICELINE link. I started bidding at $40. After I used rebid zones, my last bid available bid, at $50, was ACCEPTED. I recently won this same hotel for the same price for a later trip.
  3. Thanks for your suggestions. I always use your links. If I decide to pursue this weekend, I will post accordingly.
  4. I am looking at the weekend of Feb. 6-11. There are two Express deals in the El Corridor zone. Could you please help me identify them. 4 star - $88 Pool Pets Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center 4 1/2 star - $178 Pool Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center Thanks for your help.
  5. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. I bid up to $50 for a 3.5 star hotel without success. I then lowered my star rating to 3 and began bidding at $35. My last free rebid, of $50, was ACCEPTED. The hotel's website rate for this date is $104. Thanks again for the great service this board provides.
  6. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. My first bid of $40 was rejected. My second bid of $45 was ACCEPTED. The hotel's website rate for this day is $123. I have won this hotel before and have been very pleased with the facilities.
  7. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. For the past few days I had bid up to $68 for both 3.5 star and 3 star hotels without success. Today I again started at $60 and bid in increments until my bid of $70 was ACCEPTED. The hotel's website rate for this day is $183, so I am very pleased.
  8. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. I started at $80 for a 4-star hotel, and my bid was rejected. I raised my bid to $85; my bid was rejected but I was told that if I raised my bid to $104 my bid would be accepted. I declined. I then raised my bid to $90, and it was ACCEPTED. The hotel's website rate for this day is $173.
  9. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. For several days (including today) I had bid up to $70 for a 4-star without success. I then lowered my star rating to 3.5 and began at $45. Using rebid zones, I bid up to $66, which was ACCEPTED. The website rate for this hotel on this date is $128.
  10. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. For several weeks I had been bidding for a 4 star in the Penns Landing area; I had bid up to $95 with no success. I recently added the Rittenhouse Square area as another possible area in which to stay. Over the past couple of days I had bid up to $100 for a 4 star and $90 for a 3 star. Based on other wins, I knew these did not a high probability of winning. Today I bid up to $100 for 4 star and was rejected. I then started bidding on 3 stars. My bid of $100 was accepted, and I was upgraded to the 3.5 star Sonesta. The website rate for my dates is $199/night, so I am pretty pleased. I have never been to Philly and was really hoping to stay in the Penns Landing area. However, a couple of people had told me that Rittenhouse was a good alternative, so I am not too disappointed.
  11. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. I saw that someone had gotten the Hyatt for $110 for Aug. 23 a couple of months ago, and starting in May I bid up to $100 (trying to get an even better deal) but with no success. About a month ago, I started bidding up to $125, with no success. About ten days ago, I bid up to $125 for a 4 star and $120 for a 3 star, still without success. Yesterday, I bid up to $135 for a 4 star and $125 for a 3 star, still without success. I was offered the opportunity to increase my bid to $169, but I declined. However, that did give me an idea of what it would take to win. Today, my bid of $150 was accepted. The hotel website has a rate of $240. I was spoiled by my winning bid of $90/night for a 4 star hotel (Westin Bayshore) in November of last year. Obviously, the difference between late summer and early winter makes a huge difference! (The Westin's rate for my stay this time is over $300.) Although this trip is costing more than I had anticipated, I am looking forward to seeing some sunshine on this trip. It rained every day on my trip last year. Thanks again for the service this board provides.
  12. Started with your PRICELINE.com link. Started at $40 and bid in increments until my bid of $47 was accepted. For the past week, I had bid up to $49 with no success. The website rate for this day is $109, so I am quite pleased.
  13. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. I started at $45 and bid in increments until my bid of $60 was accepted. Hotel website rate is $79/night. This is not a spectacular win, but I still saved money.
  14. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. I started bidding at $40. Using rebid zones and increasing my bid by $5 each time, I was able to get my $55 bid ACCEPTED by the Courtyard Marriott. Website rate for this date is $89.
  15. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. Started bidding at $55 - Rejected Added rebid zone and bid $60 - Rejected Added rebid zone and bid $65 - ACCEPTED The website rate for these days is $189/night.
  16. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. Over the past week I had been bidding for a 3-star hotel in this area. My bids up to $50 had been rejected. Tonight, my first bid of $45 was ACCEPTED. The hotel's website rate for this night is $123.
  17. For what it is worth, I have this suggestion if you get a counter offer. Do not accept it; instead increase your bid to a price between your current bid and the counter offer. For example, if you bid $50 and got a counter offer of $58, make your next bid $54. When I have been given a counter offer, I have always had a lower counter bid accepted. (It may take two re-bids, but it has always worked.)
  18. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. I started at $45 and using rebid zones got up to $70, which was ACCEPTED. This was going to be my final bid of the day, since I was at the top of my price range. I might have gotten a lower price if I had waited longer, but I am pleased with this price.
  19. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. Using rebid zones, I bid up to $55 for 3 star hotel in this zone without success. I then lowered my star rating and bid $40. My bid was rejected, but I was given the opportunity to rebid immediately if I increased my bid to $48; I declined. I then added the only rebid zone, increased my bid to $44, and was ACCEPTED.
  20. I started with your PRICELINE.com link. I have been planning a weekend trip to San Francisco for over a month and was bidding for a hotel in the Union Square - East zone for the last two weekends in April; I had bid up to $140 unsuccessfully, starting with 4 star and then lowering my star rating to 3.5. No bid was accepted. I looked at the hotel website prices and saw that the rates were very high for these weekends (with the highest price being April 19-22). I then started bidding for the weekend of May 3-6. Again, my bids up to $140 for 4 and 3.5 star hotels were rejected. On March 10, I started bidding on Union Square - West in addition to Union Square - East, when I saw that someone had gotten the Hilton for $109 during this period. I bid up to $120 and was rejected. On March 11, I did the same thing, with the same results. Naturally, I was disappointed since I had seen another person win with a $109 bid. On March 12, I bid $105 and was rejected; I then raised my bid to $110 and was ACCEPTED. I don't know why my earlier, higher bids were rejected, but I was pleased with this result. The website rate for these days is $143 (non-refundable). I did notice that someone else has gotten this property for $109 during this period, after I won but before I posted.
  21. I began with your PRICELINE.com link. For the past couple of weeks I bid up to $55 for a 3 star and 2.5 star hotel in this area. My bid was rejected each time. I did the same thing today with the same results. I then lowered my star rating to 2 and bid $50, and my bid was ACCEPTED. I may have been able to get a lower rate, but there are no rebid zones for 2 star hotels. The website rate for this night is $107, so I am pleased with the result, even though the Tripadvisor reviews are not kind to this hotel. This is the Travelodge Inn and Suites on McCoy Road.
  22. I began with your PRICELINE link. Over the past several days I had bid up to $115 for 4-star and 3.5-stars in the Austin Downtown zone without success. I did the same today and was rejected. I then lowered my star rating to 3 and bid $90. I was rejected. I increased my bid to $95 and was accepted. I admit that I am somewhat disappointed since the website rate for this hotel for this date is only about $10 more (after fees); plus I was hoping to be closer to actual downtown Austin.
