  1. Coincidentally, we're looking for the exact same thing on the same dates. It seems the Intercontinental can be had on Price.line for about $100 / night. Please post what you finally locate and I'll do the same.
  2. Ideally, somewhere in the central area and a 4 star. Currently hotels in the area are in the US $ 160 range. I see the NH Anglo American is at about that rate but cant locate any recent info or advice on what that hotel might ultimately be won for. It seems Florence isn't very active with Priceline. Thanks in advance for your help.
  3. I have the Sheraton as a point paid backup but was looking for any help / advice for a central hotel October 23 for 5 nights 2 people. The most likely winner might be the NH Anglo American that has a paid room rate of $171 at that time of year. All help appreciated.
  4. Worst PL win ever ! Unbearable filth, wear and age. Blood on blanket, mold in shower, unsavory characters in lobby, late and I mean LATE courtesy car to the airport in the AM, unhooked smoke detector in room, unspecified and unidentified proteins on the wall.... YUCH. Old, worn and not worthy of the money. AVOID at all cost. I saw the largest human being I've ever seen hanging around in our hallway. I'm 6'4" and I felt unsafe.
  5. Started 3.5 stars @ 75. added zone 2 Corona, rejected @ 75 & 80 and acceted at $85. A whole lot better than $300 ++ in Manhattan. Graduation week & we have a 6AM flight out.
  6. I've stayed there before. As I usually do, I hold the room using points then try PRICELINE. The Cash & 1600 point rate was $30 + tax ( $38.72 ). I bid $44 and with tax its $58 and change.
  7. Just back. As a garden variety Starwood member they upgraded me to an executive (refurbished) room for free on the 6th floor so it may pay to join in advance.. Small room, very functional but two people cant pack their bags at once. free computer use down the hall w/ printer & ice machine. Subway (porte Maillot) station & RER to the left out the front door. AF bus from CDG ( #2) literally stops right across the street. Great supermarket on -1 in the mall across the street. A nice walk to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel tower area. Quite nice actually BUT intrnet and movies are 42e a day. A room service hamburger was 28e. Breathtakingly expensive stuff. Pay careful attention if you go into the Jazz club. They bring more than you ordered feigning language problems and read your bill carefully at check out as the credit card charge IS NOT the final amount in the bill. Needless to say it is in the hotels favor. But I found that to be a fact of daily life there are a tourist. Great hotel ! Hope this helps.
  8. Just a heads up - I always get a written confirmation directly from the hotel regardless of where / how I made the reservation. Once, on a res. made through the Starwood web site, I get into the Sheraton Hong Kong late one night with my written confirmation from Starwood. Hotel has no record of me and is "very nearly sold out". They gave me a nice room after a lot of talking and eventually refunded the entire cost of one night. But the lesson was learned so after winning this hotel for next week at the same rate I have emailed them 3 times to get a written confirmation without any luck.
  9. See 5/10 - 5/13 Le Meridien Etoile $120 win made through your PRICELINE link. Airport last night on Hyatt points..
  10. Bid $115 and was rejected for 4 nights. Went to $120 for 3 nights and won ! Odd part is that I was holdng this using 36,000 SPG points for the same period !
  11. $120 is the max. I have SPG points I can use at Le Meridien for 3nights and do a priceline stay at the airport the last night as we have an early flight. I'm going to give it one last try then go that route.
  12. Yes, I'll take any 3 or 4 star hotel in either EIffel, St. Germain, Champs Eleysee or La Defense. But it seems they are nearly full. I plan on using your PRICELINE link and starting at $100.
  13. New to posting here but have used PL over the years. I've seen the Mercure near the Eiffel tower for $135 and the Marriot Rive Gauche for $100 same time frame. Given that we're a week away from arrival can the group help with a strategy to get the Rive Gauche as a first choice ? I have award nights at the Le Meridien and airport Hyatt and an IBIS room near Sacr
  14. Booked this hotel for a one night stay. A Saturday nght. The room was absolutely great. The rest was really really bad. 50 minutes from calling at the baggage claim for the hotel car to get to the front desk. Two rooms and three sets of keys later I finally got in. That took 45 minutes.. I was on the 15th floor and apparently the pool is above 15. The floor was full of " people " hauling suitcases of beer up there all night long. Awful crowd and service great room. Wouldnt ever go back.
  15. Bid $ 60 and got Hyatt Greenwich ( $75 all in. ) + $ 10 parking.
  16. I had seen a post for $138 for last November. This is really a very good location at a great price.
  17. :) Gotta love it. going for $230 on line @ 14 day advance. Intercontinental !
