Yes having researched a little more about the city, I am looking to use public transport (not renting a car until the last day in LA and therefore Long Beach is not the best place to stay if I want to do the main tourist attractions (no Disneyland). So looks like Downtown and Hollywood areas are the best, and are also on the HOHO bus routes? thanks
