  1. Help Requested for Philadelphia Convention Center 3/31 - 4/3 I’m having a frustrating time getting a hotel in the Philadelphia Convention Center zone. I noticed that someone else (a few posts below this) got a 3-1/2 star hotel in that zone a couple of days after my desired dates for $67. I started at $67 for 3-1/2 star. Added re-bid zones (Cherry Hill, City Line, Gloucester, Museum, Trevose) incrementally going up to $89—but was still rejected. I did the same with 3 star. No luck. Tried again the following day with the same results. Noticed a 2-star hotel for $88 at Hotwire. I’m guessing that’s the Travelodge. The zone and low price are more important to me than a fancy hotel. So … I tried 2-star on Priceline for $75. Rejected. Added the free re-bid Museum zone for $82. No luck. I’m getting close to giving up and booking the 2-star on Hotwire. Any suggestions?
  2. Thanks. I got the Kauai Beach Resort that I wanted through your HOTWIRE link: 6/6/12 (1 night) Lihue/Kapa'a 4 star -- $118 (total $142 w/taxes & fees)
  3. It does not show the car company, although, as stated above, it shows alternate companies at higher rates. The $92.36 rate is for an economy car -- and I just noticed that it shows p/u at the airport -- even though I request a city p/u/ -- and an airport drop off. Unless I know I'm getting a 30th Street Station p/u I'd have to bite the bullet and take a train to p/u at the airport -- because some of the city locations are very far away from 30th Street -- and could be a nightmare to get to. Thanks for your help.
  4. I'm want the Kauai Beach Resort -- and NOT the Marriott. Can you ID the Lihue/Kapaa resort with these amenities? Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center, Guest Score 7/10 or Higher Thanks!
  5. Thanks for your help. It's grey -- and does not show the car company. However, it gives me options of other named car companies and shows the p/u addresses -- none of which are 30th Street Station. The other companies listed are: Hertz, Budget, & Avis.
  6. Hi-- I'm trying to reserve a rental car for p/u in Philadelphia @ Amtrak 30th Street Station (3/31; 2 PM) -- returning to PHL (4/3; 1:30PM). I used your link to search HOTWIRE. I see a rate of $92.36 (which is $15 higher than picking up and returning to the airport). What I'm trying to figure out is where the "city location" would be. It would be great if I could know it were 30th Street Station -- or walking distance. I know Alamo has a location at 30th Street Station -- but it would cost $172 to book it through their website. Before doing that, I'd book p/u and return to PHL from Hotwire for $77 -- and take a train to the airport. Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. I know NYC well, and I really prefer those zones. Thanks to a post on this forum I was able to get the 4 star Flatotel (135 W. 52nd Street -- a perfect location for me) as a "mystery" hotel at Travelocity. $137/night -- includes breakfast. That's better than I expected to do :D . Thanks for your help.
  8. Hi -- I'm trying to ID the following Philadelphia hotels. In Convention Center/Mid Center City your hotel list doesn't show anything below 3 stars. Priceline offers hotels at 1, 2, and 2-1/2 stars. In Rittenhouse Square your hotel list doesn't show anything below 3-1/2 stars. Priceline offers hotels at 2, 2-1/2, and 3 stars. In Penn's Landing your list doesn't show anything below 3 stars -- Priceline offers hotels at 1, 2, and 2-1/2 stars. Any idea what these hotels might be? That would help me decide whether I should try and get them -- if the price is right--or if I should stick to 3 stars and above. Thanks!
  9. Thanks so much for posting. I just booked it -- and indeed it was the Flatotel for $137/nt. I didn't know that Travelocity had "mystery" hotels!
  10. Hi-- My goal is a good deal in Times Square or Midtown West. For a 3-1/2 or 4 star I'd go as high as $150. But if I could get a 3 star for $130 or $135 that would be fine, too. I'd also be happy with the Wellington or Holiday Inn in CPS -- but I know these can't be guaranteed. Here's what I tried (using your PRICELINE link): 4 star $140 for TS $142 for TS, MTW $143 (added Coney Island for free re-bid) 3-1/2 star $130 TS, MTW $136 (added Coney Island for free re-bid) 3 star $130 for TS, MTS (added CPS) 2-1/2 star (Hoping for Wellington) $123 TS, MTS, CPS Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Don't know if this is appropriate to post on this website. If not, I apologize, and assume you'll remove it. But I had no luck with my parameters at Priceline. Booked the 3* mystery hotel at another site and am very pleased to have gotten the Ameritania (230 W. 54th) for $158 oer night. Thanks for your help.
  12. Sorry. I'd forgotten about this website until someone reminded. Hadn't used it since I signed up, and had to get a new password to start this thread. I'm now on board. Of course I'll share future wins. FYI, still no response from the other site re: how they define zones. But if I can't get anything under $175 tonight, I'll probably book it.
  13. I was turned down at $175 for 3* in TS and MTW. Turned down at $185 for these same zones for 3.5 and 4*. Just found a "mystery hotel" -- 3* "Times Square/Midtown -- $158 at bookit.com. There's another 3* mystery at $178. But I can't find a definition of their zones. I've sent an email and will wait before booking. I've never had to spend this much before at Priceline for a 3 or 3-1/2 star in these zones.
  14. I prefer TS and MTW for proximity to shows and the TIX Booth, but will consider the other zones in a few more days if I can
  15. My companion has had no luck bidding up to $170 for 4*, 3-1/2*, and 3* hotels in TS or MTW. So it's my turn! I looked at the calendar of wins and it seems others are getting better rates in these zones, but of course, the dates aren't the same. I'd be thrilled to get something under $170. I noticed that some of the good rates were booked only a few days in advance. My trip is 2-1/2 weeks away. I wonder if I need to wait. Am I correct that for 3-1/2 and 4 stars, the following would be free re-bid zones? UES Queensborough Bridge Long Island City Coney Island and that Brooklyn would be a free re-bid zone for 4*? I'm ready to try -- and will use your PRICELINE link. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
