My winning bid was $73. I started bidding at $65 for the 3.5*. I worked my way up by adding zones(not containing a 3.5 star). I lost at $71, then went to $73. I used the Priceline link.

Feb 25 - Mar 2 I bid just 1 week before the rental. Priceline bidding was about $100 less than Hertz directly with a discount.

I bid $24 for an economy car at LAX and got it on the first try. The rental is with Hertz. I had meant to bid on a mid-size. Priceline automatically offered a mid-size upgrade for an additional $4 per day. I used the PRICELINE link from here.

From the board, I saw that the going rate for a 4 start hotel in the Palm Springs area is about $60 a night. I bid $65 and got it on my very first try. Weeknights go for a lot less in Palm Springs. I hear this hotel adds on $10 for self parking and about $25 per day in resort fees, remember that before you bid in this resort area, that way you don't get surprised. Of course, I used the PRICELINE link before bidding.
