We got totally ripped off on this. We had a confirmation from HOTWIRE naming The Four Seasons Biltmore as our hotel.. We arrive and the Biltmore has no record of any reservation. They say they don't contract with HOTWIRE. They don't, of course, Tourco is the third party. The Biltmore will not honor the Hotwire confirmation. We spent three hours there trying to sort it out. Biltmore said it would only provide a room if we started all over and pay $495 a night. By the end of three hours, our option was the Biltmore at $495 or the Canary Hotel. The Canary is nice but is not on the level of the Biltmore. Further, the price on Expedia for the Canary is $295. It is an urban boutique hotel and the ocean is a mile away, at least. Of those who stayed over the weekend, only the newlyweds, us, were nowhere near the water. We are furious at both Hotwire and the Biltmore. Hotwire should have pulled out its corporate credit card and made it immediately right. But it did not. We paid more for less and got completely bamboozled. How do we go about getting our money back?
