  1. These are the listed amenities in the reservation: Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower
  2. I had previously booked on Priceline the Sheraton City Center for the night before. It said I could extend my stay for the same price ($80). When I tried to, it wouldn't allow me. So, i went to HOTWIRE for my next day's reservation (i wasn't 100% sure i'd need to stay the full weekend). $87 for a 4-star seemed like the best option, so I will be moving to the Hilton. Amenities listed were Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access
  3. I used your links for both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE over the past few days to keep searching for a Baltimore city hotel. This seems to be a busy weekend with not many options. I tried several rebids and multiple areas and finally came up with this one. I was willing to be in any of the 3 Inner Harbor areas. I had bid up to $85 for a 4-star, then lowered it to $76 for the 3.5 star I believe. Won it at $80. Total is $100 with tax, and there's the option to extend my stay at the same price. This hotel is advertised for $239 for that night, so I'm happy. Thank you betterbidding!
  4. After using the PRICELINE link from this board for several days to try and find a 4* in the Convention Center area for these dates to no avail (rebid in multiples of $2 or so from $55-$75 using the re-bid zones and waiting a day) I expanded my search. Today I tried a 4* Convention Center for $75, rejected. Added White House area, lowered to $60, rejected. I then went through a few more bids between $60 and $70, (I'm so sorry I don't remember exactly what I did--I've gone through so many incarnations of this over the past several days-- but I added in Dupont Circle area, then lowered the star rating to 3.5*, then added in a rebid zone and I ended up with the 3.5 star Hotel Madera in the White House Downtown zone. My total with taxes for the two nights is $167.94. I wanted to spend under $90/night total, since I knew I could find a hotel for Friday night for around that price (work is paying for Thurs night, but I didn't want to switch hotels after a day). When going to the Hotel Madera site, the "best available" rate total for these two nights is $364.11.
  5. For this trip, I ended up finding a relatively cheap guesthouse in Rehoboth that was recommended to me--their prices were cheaper than the posted rates for the 1* star motels miles from the beach.
  6. Since I had been told that there were certain areas of New Haven I definitely did not want to be in, I ended up booking the Premiere Inn & Suites from their own website and not using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.
  7. Hi all, thanks to the other postings I've seen on this site, I had a successful bid in Ithaca, NY. I'll be staying there for two nights this Labor Day weekend, and many hotels are already full, but I know the area very well and would be happy just about anywhere. I had done a few unsuccessful bids for 3*, 2.5* and 2* hotels in both zones, in the $60 range, just to see (I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what I tried). Yesterday I tried $82 for a 3* in the Cornell area (I assumed this was the Holiday Inn) and was unsuccessful. Today I tried again at $90 and it worked. The total for two nights with taxes & fees is $213.60. On the Holiday Inn website, it is listed as $175/night. Now, just in case, I had a reservation at the EconoLodge near the airport, and with my AAA discount, that would have been $225. Hooray for Priceline!!
  8. Hi, has anyone ever booked a Rehoboth Beach DE hotel through Priceline? I see 1 and 2-star hotels as an option. I'm assuming they're things like the Econolodge & Rodeway Inn. Hotels of this caliber look to be $190-$210 a night and I'm wondering how much to bit for a prime weekend. Thanks!
  9. Sorry I didn't give enough info, I should know better! I'll be staying Sunday March 16. I've chosen the New Haven-West Haven area. The 3* for $89 amenities are: Suite Smoke free Complimentary breakfast Pool Business Center Laundry High Speed Internet Kitchenette The 2* for $58 has: Airport shuttle Complimentary breakfast Fitness center Pool Restaurant Business center Laundry High speed internet. Based on what I've read, it sounds like that is the econolodge conference center?
  10. I need a hotel in New Haven on a Sunday evening in March. I have to be near the train station, but am not familiar with the city at all. When I do a search for New Haven on Hotwire, I get 4 areas. When I select New Haven-West Haven only, 2 hotels come up--a 3-star suite hotel and a 2-star that has an airport shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, etc. for $58. Any idea what this hotel is and the ease of getting there from the Metro-North Station? Thanks so much!
  11. Tried for a 4* in Princeton - Monmouth Junction for $65, REJECTED Tried 3* at $50 same area, REJECTED Added rebid zone Cookstown - Wrightstown, kept 3*, bid $60 ACCEPTED I know this hotel well; it has a great restaurant inside and a comedy club.
  12. Ok I'll try to remember my entire bidding history: I tried for a resort in Scottsdale at $45 Rejected Added PHX airport as a rebid (no resorts there) tried $50 Rejected Tried 4 star as well, same 2 areas, $52 Rejected Added 3 star, bid $50, ACCEPTED at Hilton Phoenix Airport FYI on hilton.com, a room was listed at $229/night. However there is a big renovation going on there so the pool is not open. They let me use pool at the next-door Sleep Inn. I asked for a 'quiet' room and they gave me a first floor directly adjacent to the jackhammering by the pool. Luckily they stopped before 5PM and there wasn't a problem at night. Room was big, complimentary airport shuttle was helpful.
  13. Just wanted to thank you all for a great service. I found out on your hotel list that this 3 star property with Pool, Fitness, Restaurant and LAundry was the Radisson. I live in the area and am having work done on my apt and am being put up for a max of $100/night. Expedia showed nothing for this price, luckily I saw a $64 option on Hotwire. The Radisson is a good location so I booked it. Radisson's own site is listing this room for $118/night. I just wanted to let you know there are a bunch of other hotels popping up in the Princeton area for similar dates, including another 3* with different amenities (Tennis Nearby, Business Center, Pool, Fitness, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet) and I'm not sure which this is. It only shows up when I do a search for 1 night, 4/13, and it's a higher price. Your hotel list only listed one 3* and one 2.5*. Since the one I booked had the same amenities as the one on your list, I was 99% sure it would be the Radisson. In case anyone's interested, the Olde City Grille, the restaurant in the Radisson, is available on Restaurant.com for discounted gift certificates.
  14. Well, the cheaper the better...but I'm willing to go higher. Right now I have a room at the Comfort Inn booked for $89 just in case, but I would like something a little nicer if I can get it. FYI I also tried 3star & boutique for $65 and that was rejected as well.
  15. I'm trying for a San Juan hotel mid-week (just one Weds night, 3/1). Since so many people got the Caribe Hilton for $65 (and some were on weekends) I figured I'd try that as well. However, it was rejected. Any suggestions for me? Thanks for a such a great resource!
