1. I was looking for a 5* in Paris for this trip and tried a few days ago but couldn't get anything for $215 and wasn't willing to go higher. Came back today and saw a 5* in this area for $149 on Priceline Express. My first bid of $135 was accepted. The same hotel on Marriott's website is close to $500/night for those nights. :D I used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to start. Room Cost $135.00 /per room night Rooms 1 Nights 2 Taxes and Fees $39.74 Total Charges $309.74
2. Very pleased with this win. Brand new hotel in the Morgans Group. I was trying for a 5* a couple of days ago and went up to $215 in this and other areas of the city with no luck. Came back today and saw a 5* in The City on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $194. My bid for $185 was accepted. The price on Expe.dia for a standard room with taxes and fees is $1078 for the same nights - saving almost $400. I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link to start. Room Cost $185.00 /per room night Rooms 1 Nights 3 Taxes and Fees $125.10 Total Charges $680.10
3. Started bidding at $65. Rejected but offered an immediate rebid opportunity at $85. I turned that down and added a free rebid zone at $70. Accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.10 Total Charges*: $87.10 I used the PRICELINE link on this site to start.
4. Well, I was torn about whether to stay at the airport for one night or go straight to the city. So I started bidding for a 4 star at $85 in the city, gradually adding all downtown zones until I got as high as $110 with no result, and gave up. Then decided airport would be fine. My first bid of $85 was accepted. I have that pang of regret we all feel when our first bid is accepted, but I doubt I could have gotten it much lower. This will be fine. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $85.00 Subtotal: $85.00 Taxes & Fees: $21.08 Total Charges*: $106.08 I used this site's PRICELINE link to start.
5. Started bidding at $45 and increased in $5 increments using free rebids.
6. Amenities: Resort Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Based on the information on this site, I knew I was likely getting the FireSky. The system worked yet again! Used the HOTWIRE links on this page to start.
7. Started at $120 and increased in $5 increments adding various rebid zones. The "real" zones that I included in my bid were MTE, MTW and CPS. Fully expected Grand Hyatt, which I have won before a couple of times using this strategy, and seems to be the most commonly won hotel in MTE. Surprised (and pleased) with the W - should be a nice change of pace. Used the link on this site to start. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $175.00 Subtotal: $350.00 Taxes & Fees: $77.46 Total Charges*: $427.46
8. Looking for a resort in North Phoenix or Scottsdale First bid of $80 for North Phoenix alone was rejected. Added Scottsdale and increased bid to $85. Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $85.00 Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & Fees: $30.68 Total Charges*: $200.68 Price on Expedia is $147. Also saw it (I'm pretty sure) on Hotwire for $118.
9. Amenities: Resort Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program HotelHotel rate per night:$89.00 Nights:5 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$445.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$60.50 Total price:$505.50 I am really pleased with this. I usually use Priceline as I find better bargains there, but I get nervous using Priceline in Scottsdale because there are a couple of relatively mediocre resorts that often pop up. Hotwire offers a bit more control over the hotel choice, as I was pretty certain this would turn out to be the Westin Kierland. This is a great bargain at $89, especially over a holiday weekend! Used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link to start.
10. I was looking for two rooms in a 4* in Buckhead or Perimeter for under $60/night. Willing to pay a bit more for Buckhead than Perimeter. We did this trip last year, almost exactly the same dates and snagged the Westin Perimter for $35/night, which was one of my favorite PRICELINE wins ever. Tried Buckhead first starting at $50/night and increased using free rebid zones to $59, no luck. Then tried Perimeter at $35, $39 and $42. $42 was the winner at the Crowne Plaza. Haven't stayed there before but it should be fine, and the advantage over Buckhead is we don't have to pay $20 for self-parking at the Grand Hyatt. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Subtotal: $252.00 Taxes & Fees: $46.02 Total Charges*: $298.02 Used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com.
11. Started bidding at $45 and used multiple re-bids (lots of KC zones without a 3.5*). $60 was rejected, $61 accepted. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $61.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 4 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $488.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $101.08 (USD) Total Room Cost: $589.08 (USD) Perfectly happy with this, even though the Sheraton gets mixed reviews online. How bad can it be for $61? Note that this hotel has been upgraded to a 3.5*, shows as a 3* on your pinned list of Missouri hotel (no problem there - I know things change all the time). Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to start.
12. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $35.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $210.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $40.18 (USD) Total Room Cost: $250.18 (USD) First bid attempt. Previously tried bidding up to $72 for a 4* in Buckhead but decided this would be a better deal. Can't beat $35 for a Westin! I find myself thinking I should have started lower, but really, how much lower than $35?
13. Started bidding at $70, which I knew was a long shot, but Phoenix allows for so many free rebids that I figured I could afford to start low. Increased in $5 increments, looking for a resort or 4* property in Scottsdale or Phoenix North Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $110.00 Subtotal: $770.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $115.18 Total Charges*: $885.18 AAA rate on Hilton website is $220.15, so I am pleased with this win. Not the best location for me, but once I started bidding North Phoenix I knew it was one of the likely outcomes. I have stayed at the other Pointe Hilton (Squaw Peak) before and it is a good place to stay with kids. Used Savings Barn link to start!
14. Nice win, given the craziness of Super Bowl weekend. Orange Tree is a decent property in a good location. Obviously, $300 is insane, but it sure beats staying in Tucson!
15. I was looking for the Peabody. Bid $69 on 4*, rejected. Added MCO Airport and increased bid to $75, rejected. Added Sandy Hill Corporate Park, accepted at $85. :) Used Savings Barn link.
16. I have stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal in the past. It is a beautiful old hotel in a perfect location. It also has some smaller rooms in a newer addition that, while fine (and you still get to enjoy all the amenities of the hotel) are not quite 4* material. My guess is that this is a 3.5* because they are putting Hotwire customers in those rooms first - also there is no pool at the hotel. I'll be interested to hear the reports when posters who got the Ritz return from their trips. Bottom line is that this is still one of the nicest hotels in Montreal so if you appreciate nice old hotels and don't mind getting stuck in one of the smaller rooms, this could be a major-league bargain.
17. This is my first time using Priceline (usually a Hotwire user) and I'm really pleased. I wanted the Squaw Peak - we've stayed there before and been very happy. It was $149/night on Hotwire for these dates. Using the techniques I learned from this site, I first tried a bid of $85 in Phoenix North and was rejected. Added Scottsdale and went up to $88 and was rejected. Added Downtown Phoenix and went up to $90 and bid was accepted. AAA rate from the hotel directly is $179. Not bad!
