There's a 2 1/2* in Chelsea/MSG that doesn't fit any of the identified hotels. It shows non-smoking, comp. breakfast, fitness, business, and internet. Any ideas? Travel dates are 9/19-9/21.

Grand Pacific Palisades, which was not listed on HOTWIRE, suddenly came out with a $79 special, including breakfast, so we ended up staying there. Thanks for your help on this.

A 4* in Carlsbad is coming in at $99. The amenities are: Resort Fitness Pool Resturant Business center Internet Golf nearby Tennis nearby This is ALMOST one of two identified hotels: La Costa should list a spa, and Sheraton should not list internet. Any thoughts about which one this is?

It came up with all five amenities today, and it was the Sheraton Manhatten. The rest of the NY hotels came up the same as yesterday, so that one was apparently the same hotel, with one less amenity showing! Thanks for your help!

Amenities are Smoke-free, Ftness, Restaurant, and Hi-speed internet. My guess would be one of the Sherations, but the amenities listed don't exactly match either of them. I booked at the same rate last month and got the Sheraton NY, but at that point the amenities matched the listing.

I could never get the hotel to come up for under $202 after I posted my original question, so I didn't book it. But thanks for your help!

I'm coming up with a 4* in downtown/harbor island for $179 that shows non-smoking rooms, business center, wireless internet, restaurant, and workout center. The closest I can find in the hotel list is the Westin Horton Plaza, which lists all except the non-smoking rooms. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip. I've never paid attntion to The Pod because, with the shared bathroom option, I pictured a semi-converted rooming house.

I'd like to stay under $175. I generally agree with you about 2.5 star hotels in NY, but there's a LaQuinta and a Super 8 across the street from each other on W. 32nd Street, and they're both clean and decent. Both would rate a 2.5. So I was hoping....

Neither of these two hotels appear on your list, and both have been showing up consistantly on Hotwire for the past few weeks. 2.5 star in Central Park has complimentary breakfast, Fitness, and Business Center, and 2.5 star in Midtown South shows Boutique, Restaurant, and Laundry.
