  1. I am sorry, but you are wrong. It IS a hidden fee. This is a fact that is not debateable. Stating that properties "can" charge extra, but not listing which ones do or don't defeats the whole purpose of 'bidding" or "naming your price". Any information regarding resort fees and the like, incurred at a few specific properties are HIDDEN or not disclosed, which obviously makes bidding decisions and comparisons impossible. The bidders, in effect have no idea if they will be paying the specific amount they bid or not. I called priceline to complain about the Bello Vina resort in Napa. I bid $89. The bid was accepted, but I know from prior experience that this place charges a mandatory "resort fee" of $15. per night - over and above whatever rate was agreed upon with Priceline or Hotwire. Effectively changing my bid price of $89. to $106. This is wrong. Priceline told me any property has the right to charge up to $40. extra per night . Say Whaaa? Priceline should NOT acceot this practice from any of their participating hotels or resorts. Again, why bid if you really don't know for sure what you're going to pay???
  2. Just got cinfirmed for Napa, Ca. (Specifically Napa - NOT Santa Rosa, Sonoma, or any other close town). for $99 for a 4 star, Jan 6 thru 8 2009. It was confirmed at Vino Bello Resort which is a new time share condo place. Not thrilled, expected a 4 star place to have a restaurant this place does not. Don't want to drink & drive (This is WINE country!!).....
  3. The Date of my stay (for Santa Rosa/Rohnert Park/Petaluma) is 12/17/05 and as I mentioned, the 3 & 1/2 Star for $85. came up as the Double Tree in Rohnert Park. The amenities were/are Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, & Business Center. FYI Since I rec'd my confirmation, I've done a little checking...and though I've stayed at the exact place several times when it was a Red Lion...since it became a Double Tree it has undergone some very nice upgrading...Most other listings still call it 4 star...and I stumbled upon a website called Dining Out which is selling $50 credits to the upscale onsite Restaurant & Wine Bar called Bacchus for $25. So I purchased this online...which, if you were going to dine out at a nice place anyway, saves another $25!!!....and it's right on the property for convenience and reason for an after dinner drink...or two.....
  4. I just booked a 3.5 star Hotel labeled Santa Rosa/Rohnert Park/Petaluma. I stay in the Santa Rosa area often, and was hoping for something like the Vineyard Creek Inn or Hilton which is in Santa Rosa.....What I got this time for $85. was the Double Tree in Rohnert Park...I have stayed there many times over the years...(It started out as a Red Lion)...and is a nice enough place....But it is in Rohnert Park not S.R., and my wife & I like the restuarant scene in S.R. much better...and I hate to drive back to Rohnert Park after two Martinis and 1/2 a bottle of some delicious Sonoma County red Zin....even though it really isn't not that far....
