  1. That's correct. Your card is charged the full amount of the reservation at the time of booking, but the entire amount is fully refundable up until the time stated on the site (typically 72 hours). I've never had an issue with EasyClickTravel, even when I had to cancel a reservation recently. Calling to cancel took about 45 seconds, with no questions, and the full amount was refunded to my card within a couple of days. Unlike just about every other site where you don't book with the hotel directly, there is no cancellation fee.
  2. Yeah, I had read that thread, but having seen the prices for Aladdin for those nights as opposed to Paris' (particularly for my dates, where Aladdin is $399 every night), I was a little skeptical that it'd be Aladdin. I still am, though I know the point of HOTWIRE is to get a lower rate than you would otherwise. Having seen that Paris' amenities were now being reported to be the same as Aladdin's, I figured Paris might be more likely. Looking at vacation packages for my dates, Aladdin was $1008 for two people. Flights are $456 for two people. That's a difference of $552, which is close to what five nights at this 4* property cost. So I'm back at square one. I realize the package prices don't necessarily have much to do with the individual component prices, but I'm shocked at how low the rate is for the Aladdin package. Almost everywhere else, Aladdin is $2000+ for those five nights. Considering that I could get the hotel and airfare for two for half of that, that's a pretty incredible deal. Therefore I'd now be more inclined to believe this could be Aladdin. So yeah, I'm back at square one. I would say Aladdin's a pretty good bet, but I still think Paris is too. So if you're willing to stay at either of those, this might be a good way to get a great rate. I'd love to be able to book this for my trip, but our plans are ever-changing (more and more people keep getting added to our trip), so I'm not sure it'd be wise. Let us know how things turn out though. :)
  3. I'm not sure if you've decided what to do yet, but I just wanted to throw my two cents in. My best guess is that this hotel is Paris, not Aladdin. I've been searching dates close to yours (March 7 through March 12), and came across the $99/night rate on Hotwire last night. It had never shown up before (the 4* North Strip I was shown before was probably Treasure Island since it was a 'customer favorite'), so I was quite shocked to see that rate, especially since TI had been about $260 a night and the 4* South Strip (likely Luxor for my dates) was fluctuating between $200 and $230 a night. Looking at the pricing information Hotwire displays, it shows a 64% savings for my dates ($99 a night as opposed to the 'retail' rate of $276.20). Paris' site displays an average of $272 a night, close to $276.20. Aladdin, meanwhile, is an average of $399 a night. Looking at your dates, Hotwire indicates a savings of 51%, with $203.33 listed as the going rate. Paris' site displays an average nightly rate of $202.33 for your dates, very close to $203.33. Aladdin's average rate for those nights is $259. Doing a little more digging, Expedia (Hotwire's partner) offers Paris for exact matches of $276.20 a night for my dates and $203.33 for yours. So if I had to guess, Paris would be my bet. Therefore I think that if you're wanting to stay in Paris and willing to spend $99 a night plus tax to do it, you should book this. But only if your dates are firm, and if you're willing to take a slight risk in assuming that it is indeed Paris. And yes, there is the possibility that you might find a better rate between now and March. For instance, with my plane tickets, after searching everywhere for a couple of weeks I finally found an itinerary I liked at a price I liked, so I booked our tickets. The very next day, they went down $10 each. I've since quit looking at airfare, and had to simply remind myself that I made the decision to buy them at a certain price and I can't do anything about it now, so there's no use in torturing myself. If you just keep your reservation at the Bellagio, sure, you should keep looking for rates to see if you find one you like better. With the Hotwire reservation, you can't do that. If you like the rate, book it, look around for 24 hours to see if you can find a better rate (you likely won't), and then just sit back and be happy that the hotel portion of your trip is taken care of.
  4. I encountered what I believe to be the same 5* hotel discussed here in a recent Hotwire search. I'm planning on going to Vegas with some friends in early March for the NASCAR race. Considering that the race will be in town, I'm not counting on hotel availability -- or prices -- to get much better for that weekend, so I figured I'd at least do a little searching now. During my searches, I found the Wynn for an average of $479 a night for the time we'd be staying (3/7/07-3/12/07). I also found the Bellagio for an average of around $285 a night. I finally got to the Hotwire part of my search, and found a 5* hotel in the North Strip zone for $459 a night. Checking the list on here, I assumed it would be the Venetian or Bellagio. Considering the Venetian's not been available anywhere I looked, and that the hotel on Hotwire wasn't listed as a Customer Favorite, I assumed it wasn't the Venetian. However, the rate seemed way too high for the Bellagio -- a difference of $174 per night. The amenities listed were Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, and Spa Services. Lo and behold, those were the same amenities listed for the Bellagio in the Hotwire Hotel List thread here. I started getting a little excited, considering the price difference. With Double the Difference, $174 a night for five nights becomes $1740. That seemed a little too good to be true. I clicked on the link for the hotel to see what Hotwire's listed retail price was, and it was $479, the same price as the Wynn. I did a split search, and sure enough the listed retail price matched the Wynn's for both searches. So it looks like the Wynn is indeed on Hotwire, listed as a 5* in the North Strip with Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Golf, Tennis, and Spa as its amenities. I'm glad I found this thread rather than assuming it was the Bellagio and going for the Double the Difference. I'd love to stay there, but I would've hated to spend 2,600 non-refundable dollars on it.
