  1. Went in today and tried the $130 bid with priceline but was turned down and would be accepted if I raised the bid 22.00. Didn't think fast enough, [although that is really more than I wanted to pay] and so I tried for a 4* at $100. They then wanted $22.00 more for that one. I'm discouraged. Have to wait 3 more days to try again. :)
  2. I have been rejected at $100. so will wait the required time and try again. If I can't get a 5* does anyone have any idea what the 4* hotels are?
  3. After reading all of the other posts about Sydney, I don't think we are going to do much better that the $134 that the others are talking about. It seems that the 4* is about the same price. So what is the stratagy for 5*?
  4. That's a tough question. Would like a 5* hotel. There probably is a stratagy for doing both. Is $134 the total amount that will have to be paid, or do they add on tax to that? Would like to hear your stratagy in any event.
  5. Our dates for Sydney are Jan.4th thru the 7th. Since we will be there for 4 nites I would like to find something around $100. How do you find out what hotels Price Line uses?
  6. Will be in Sydney in Jan. 2006 for 4 nites. Wondered if anyone has had success bidding on priceline for hotels here. Have used hot Wire but not priceline. The hotels on Expedia all sound very expensive. Since we are staying for 4 nites would like to find something a little reasonable.
  7. We are going to be in Sydney Jan. 4 to 8th, 2006. Am trying to decide if it's worth trying to bid for hotel. Like the 5 star of course but bids I've read have been high. Would like something around $100. since we will be there 4 nites. Someone got the Menzies do you know anything about that hotel? We've had good luck with hot Wire but haven't used priceline.
  8. I only found one other post on successful bid on Sydney Hotel. How do I find out what hotels Priceline is using in Australia?
  9. Wondered if anyone has done this in reverse. Bid on Sydney Australia and been successful? Where can I find out about the hotels they offer?
  10. We are planning a quick trip to the Napa Sonoma are on the 31st of July for 1 nite and read your message about getting MacArthur Place Inn. I can't see all of the listed items that you mention in their discription. How did you know which one you were getting? There is one listed that is a resort, for $65. but only a 3 star. Also they show a 4 1/2 star for $151. Did you put in only Sonoma? Any help would be appreciated. Have had success on this board before. :)
  11. I had to let you know that I got the Hilton Bonadventure for 85.00. I didn't have to try other bids they just took the first one. I hope it's a good hotel. Someone on the other board said she had stayed there and liked it. It makes you feel like you should have bid less when they take your first bid, but I thought I'd go for it. Thanks for all your help. I'm excited. Will try doing this again in the future!!
  12. I finally get it. I went back in and they do have one more area the airport that has a 4*. So what do you do about not getting that?
  13. I really feel stupid but do you mean to go to priceline site and go to hotels and Montreal and check area and then fill out a bid and my name before I can find out the hotels? When I go to the next page they want all the info for bidding.
  14. I would like to confirm rebid zones. Plan to try again Wedsday nite. Thanks.
  15. I decided to bid $75.00 for a 4* with priceline and was re-jected. Then when I was going to change zones I chickened out because I didin?t know which zone had a 4* and didn't want to be stuck out in the boonies somewhere. How do you know if there are any 4*s anywhere else in Montreal? I will try again when I can. Can always go to Hotwire.
  16. Thanks for the info. I don't understand what u mean by total. I would be willing to pay $100 per nite. I will still make the trip and if I didn't get the 4* I would bid for the 3*. Just wondered how high to start.
  17. Am looking for hotel in Montreal for Oct3 to 5th. Never have used priceline or hotwire. Am willing to pay to $100. total if that's possible. Would like a 4*. How do you begin? Do I have a better chance on one or the other? Greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
