  1. Thought I would let everyone know about this hotel now on Hotwire. The Kitano is listed as a 4* in the Empire State Building area, listed with the following amenities: - Boutique - Business Center I got it for $189 a night, for 5/21 to 5/23. Not bad, especially since it's ranked #42 on TripAdvisor! Cheers, nader
  2. Hi all, We're looking at hotels in the Monterey/Carmel area and having a really hard time identifying a few of them! Here are the ones in question: 1. 3* hotel in Marina w/ Breakfast, Laundry, Internet 2. 3* hotel in Pacific Grove w/ Boutique, Breakfast, Pool Thanks for the help! Nader
  3. Thanks all for the help with this one, but things were getting really expensive on Hotwire - so we ended up getting the Chancellor Hotel for $140/night inc. parking for October 30-Nov. 2 through Expedia. We're now looking for a hotel in Monterey, but that'll be another thread! Thanks again, Nader
  4. Hi thereuare, I checked out what you said about splitting the dates and came up with the following: Oct. 30 - Nov. 1: 4* Union Square West - Gym, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet, Customer Favorite $139 This is a great deal, but I would only want it if its the Hilton, because I've heard really mixed reviews of the Nikko. Could it be anything else? For Oct. 29-Oct. 30: 4* Nob Hill - Gym, Restaurant, High-Speed Internet, Business Center - prob. Inter-Continental $159 This would be a good deal too. Do you think I should go with this, or try Priceline? No one has put anything up near the dates I've got here, so I don't know how to judge things! Thanks, Nader
  5. Hi, I think that we'd be willing to spend around $150 for a 4 star and around $100 for a 3 star place. Splitting the dates is also an option, which I might try out. Nader
  6. I've been trying to get a room booked for Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 in downtown SF (basically anywhere other than the airport or the Civic Square areas) with at least 4 or 3.5*. The prices are all above $195 for a 4 star and $163 for a 3.5 star. Everyone else seems to be getting these hotels for the $100-150 range. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? Nader
  7. Thats a very good question! Is it possible to upgrade a room to Executive suite or even to confirm King-bed/non-smoking (for instance)? Thanks!
  8. So, I booked using the SavingsBarn link the following: June 29 - July 1 Cambridge, MA $105 (was $99 the day before!) 4* hotel with: Gym, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet HOTEL AT MIT (DOUBLETREE) I'm glad it's this hotel, as I've heard lots of good things. Thanks all for the help!
  9. So, I've actually come back to find a hotel, but now with new dates and am getting new results. Should I start a new topic or keep going here? Nader
  10. Hi all, I'm currently looking at a 4.5* hotel in Quincy Market/Financial district with: Gym - Pool - Restaurant - Business Center - High-Speed Internet It's going for $129 for June 15-18. I think it may be the Langham or the Intercontinental, but its missing some of their items. Any ideas?
  11. Sorry about forgetting about the NYC stay! It's now posted!
  12. Sorry for the late follow-up, but we ended up getting the Hilton New York (4* Hilton New York, Midtown West) for around $120-125 per night for the two nights. The stay was great, with an "upper level" room - what a view! - and the price was more than half off their Internet rate. This hotel is also a great location for those who want to be in the middle of everything yet away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. One problem was that they would not give us Hilton HHonors points for the stay as we booked it through Priceline (via SavingsBarn, of course!). Cheers, Nader
  13. Here's what I got off of Hotwire... 4-star hotel in Back Bay - Copley Square Fitness, Swimming, Restaurants, Business Centere, Internet, SPA It's going for $113 and is listed as a Best Value for June 8-10, 2007. Thanks for the help! Nader
  14. Sorry... forgot to add: 1. Is this a good deal for the place/date of stay? 2. How could I get the Hyatt Regency using Priceline? Thanks again!
  15. Hi all. I've used this site successfully quite a few times and now need some help of my own! I've found a 4* in Hoboken-Jersey City with: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet, Business Center for $130 per night. Is this the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson? I've seen conflicting reports of its star numbers and ameneties. All help is greatly appreciated, and I will submit all info when finalized. Cheers, nader
