  1. Good News! I booked on Hotwire - but did not use the special link. As I have an Entertainment Card, I thought I would send in the rebate request anyway. I used the PDF form and mailed that in last week along with a copy of the itinerary and my card. Received an email today saying the rebate had been processed. Great service, Hotwire! FYI ~
  2. Keep in mind, the closest golf amenities are a good 20 minutes away, by car!
  3. Sorry, yes, April 23rd is correct! I think we're going to stay downtown for the one night. Rates anywhere near the strip (Hotwire) are in excess of $100/$150 - it's c-r-a-z-y !!
  4. Taking a quick week-end away to Vegas. We're actually arriving on Saturday the 23rd but prices are crazy. I saw that the Venetian was coming up so I thought I would split my bid and do Saturday night alone and then do Sunday/Monday. For the Sunday / Monday I got the Venetian. Started with 5* Las Vegas Strip $95 rejected - but received a counter-offer to increase $22 Didn't take the counter-offer. Added UNLV Increased bid to $97 rejected - and they offered a bunch of hotels thru lowcostfares.com - Venetian was listed @$149 per night Added LAS Airport Increased bid to $99 Success! Check-In Date: Sunday, April 24, 2005 Check-Out Date: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 Your Offer Price: $99.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $198.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $29.27 Total Charges: $227.27 Any advice for the Saturday night (March 23rd)??
  5. My sister has a big meeting with QVC and decided to say the weekend in Philadelphia so asked for some help on getting a deal on a hotel. Was (pleasantly) surprised to see the Westin come up. 4.5 stars "Best Value" Restaurant Fitness Business $109 per night - 375.95 all in. (note - it was coming up at $121 p/n yesterday). A great deal - esp. since the going pre-paid rate on westin.com is 235 p/n, so a savings of more than 50% !!
  6. Booked a pre-cruise hotel for my parents - they're thrilled to be staying at the Westin! In: 4/30 Out: 5/1 Started with $70 and kept adding free re-bids, and increased by $5 each time. Took 4 tries ~ finally accepted at $85, plus $17.46 for a total of $101.46. The hotel website direct, pre-paid internet rate is $209, plus 10.5% tax for a total of 230.95. Thanks to priceline, they saved over $129 or 55%
  7. Nancy, Gald to see you found your way over to Better Bidding! Valentine's Day in Key West looks to be very expensive. I pulled up your dates on Hotwire and it looks as if the 2 1/2 star that is coming up is the Radisson Hotel Key West for $186 per night. I would have to agree with the other poster(s) that it may be best to check out some of the B&B's that are around. Here's a good link: http://www.bestonkeywest.com/guesthouses.htm Good luck and enjoy your special day :) (...West Coast from CC)
  8. Booked the Shearton Bal Harbor for Oct 10 @ $44 per night through Hotwire. Also, I called the hotel after to confirm the reservation and had my Starwood number added to the reservation. Person took number and confirmed I was booked into a "Traditional King" room.
