1. HOTWIRE Hot Rate Boutique Hotel Theater District - Midtown West area - 3 star boutique hotel Rate of $129 per night (says that regular rate is $190) Free breakfast Free Internet Boutique hotel Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Business center Any help identifying would be great! Also, my daughter is 20 and will be staying on her own. I know most hotels require the person checking in to be over 21. Do you know if it is possible to give prior authorization so she can stay in a hotel without me?
2. Thank so much for the help and I am sorry I hadn't replied. It was so long ago now I just dont remember those specific details. I understand if you can't help me. Take care.
3. Ended up using the Hotwire link and chose a mystery hotel. Ended up with the Hotel Grace in Times Square. It was a nice, tiny, hotel room, great staff but I wouldn't pay the $300 (or even $200) they are advertising now. Much too small.
4. I didn't realize I hadn't updated. We ended up bidding via the PRICELINE link and stayed at the New Yorker Hotel. It was nice, I would stay there again. Art Deco, good location and nice room but smallish.
5. Hi All! Im taking my daughter to NY to tour colleges and while there we are also going to be rushing for theatre tix every morning. Would love to be as close to Times Square as we can but dont need to be right in TS. Looking for a 4* or above hotel for 8 nights, April 13-21. Waiting till last minute with hopes of getting a better rate. Would love bidding help. Would love to get in for about $150 per night but will go to about $200 at the highest (hopefully with all taxes, etc.) Any help would be great!!!! Thank you, Debra
6. Wow, that was so long ago, I thought I did post a follow up. I dont remember the final price but I ended up bidding and got the New Yorker hotel. Had a great time and did use the PRICELINE link here.
7. I've looked at the hotel lists and tried researching online but am stumped. Can anyone guess which hotel this may be? hot Rate Hotel Times Square - Theatre District area Boutique, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet Access 70% Recommended $88 per night - January 1-7th
8. I wasn't sure where to post this but I would love to know if there are any deals around to get from the airport (JFK) to our hotel (and back) when we visit NYC next week. If so, I would love details. Thanks so much!
9. Just wanted to pop in and say that I haven't done anything yet, bid wise. Going to wait a couple more days for a cheaper rate. I will update as soon as I have news/results. :)
10. Thanks for taking the time to think this through for me! What I would love is a fantastic hotel (4-5 stars, higher the better) at the best price, as close to $150 as possible. Would love to be in a fun area that can be explored on foot, easily accessible to the subway. I hope I dont sound too delusional on. It going to be one of those once in a lifetime types of things for my daughter and me so I am shooting for special as much as I can. If you were going to take a trip to NYC and were looking for a great place, what areas would you concentrate on, im guessing it would be midtown right?
11. 15-20 minute walk would be fine, honestly its just the morning where I have to transfer hotels that I am most concerned about and I could always suck it up and take a taxi (im a bit too budget minded sometimes). 36th & 8th is where my daughters workshop will be so it would be nice to not be too far as it starts pretty early in the morning. On the other hand....we'd love to stay in a young, village-y area with small shops/cafe's. If there were a nice spot that we could jump on the subway and be to her workshop easily, we'd be open to that as well. Just want to have a great trip, want her to remember this forever. Not knowing the area is most frustrating as I can't judge safety, village-y, distance etc. Id love all recommendations and am open to wherever your favorites are. Thanks so much!!!
12. Hello everyone, This is my first post, go easy on me. I will be heading to NY with my 15 year old daughter for a theatre workshop which takes place at Ripley Studios, at 8th & 36th. I need a hotel not too far from Times Square from the 19th-23rd of July. I made a reservation from the 23-30th at the French Quarter Guest Apartment and will probably have to move all of our things myself, so not lugging everything too far would be a plus. I would like a 4* or above, close to Times Square (easy walking), im more into quality that modern, etc. Free internet would be a plus. I have no idea how to bid and what area just outside TS I should try. Is MTE & MTW the closest? If so, which is nicer? I'd love to stay around $150 (or less if possible). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Debra
13. Have read anything I can get my hands (eyes) on, will post soon specifics of my trip.
14. What is your closest yet favorite area near Times Square to stay? MTW? Just starting to get up the nerve myself to bid and need to be as close to TS as possible but dont mind a short walk.
