  1. I originally wanted to get a 4* Waikiki beach hotel or resort but unable to get one under $110. So i decided to try to get this 3 1/2 * hotel and got it at $91. It is a very nice hotel. Only two blocks away from beach. Newly renovated. Contemporary style. Also we got two ocean view rooms which have incredible views. :)
  2. hi Gallus50, thanks for the tip. But I did use free zones. I used priceline to bid hotels for a few years and I know how free zones work. Well this time, unfortunately I used up all the free zones but still couldn't get one. Anyway, thank you for the advise :)
  3. update: i got Omni for $123/night for my 5/28 stay. When I bidded for $100 and got rejected, i was told that i can win by adding $23. Since I will leave tomorrow morning and don't have time to try again, I raised my bid to $123. The price after tax and fees is $150 which is much higher than my budget. But with my $75 bid for 5/26 and 5/27, the average price after tax and fees is $112/night. Although I couldn't get Hyatt Regency for the 3rd day's stay, I am still quite happy with the result. :-)
  4. Thank you Colfax. I didn't get any luck in bidding for 5/28 stay even I raised to $105/night... I will give a last try tomorrow. Or maybe I have to move to another hotel on Friday :-( I will update when I get back from trip. Thanks again. :-)
  5. Hi, I wanted to bid a 4* hotel in SF for my upcoming 3 days stay. Yesterday I raised my bid from $75 to $88 and didn't get anything. I checked on Expedia.com and noticed that Friday rate is much higher than the other two days. So I decided to bid seperately. Few mins ago, I successfully got Hyatt Regency for $75, 5/26-5/28. Now I am trying to get the same hotel with higher price for the Friday night stay. But here is my question: If i got the hotel, do I have to check out on Friday morning before 12:00 and check in on Friday afternoon after 3:00? If I had to do that, I probably would think about getting another hotel. Thank you very much for your help!
  6. It seems pretty difficult to get a 4* hotel in Maui-Waiea area at below $200 during this period. I tried a few times, raising from $160 to $180 and got nothing. Then my husband bid at $187. The system reminded me to add $25 and did not allow me to place order at any price lower than $203, so I gave up and waited for three days. Just few minutes ago, I tried at $193 and suceeded at $197. :) Thanks! :)
  7. I bid and then had my traveling partner bid: ID1: 4* hotel, Boston Downtown, starting at $50; + Bright-Brookline $55; +Medford-Somerville $60; +South Boston, $65; +Copley, $70. All of them were rejected. ID2: 3* hotel, Boston Downtown, starting at $60; + Bright-Brookline $65; +Medford-Somerville $68; +South Boston, $70; +Copley, $72, accepted.
  8. Bidd started at $60, used 3 free zones, and got this deal. Is it the busy season in Boston now? Why is it so expensive :)
  9. Bid started at $65, was suggested to add $17, refused; then added free bid zone and increased to $68, rejected; added another free zone, $70, rejected; added the last free zone, increased to $74, accepted. :)
  10. Start bidding at $78, chose Coastal area, but the request was rejected and priceline asked me to add $22. I rebidded at $80, added area Coronado, rejected; then rebidded at $85, added area Old Town, got it! :)
