  1. I was looking for a hotel for the same dates. I got the 5* Marriotts last year for the same period for $165 when I realised I wasn't going to get anything around the same price this year I switched my search to the Top Secret hotels on Lastminute.com and got the Chesterfield 4* for $160 It's not 5* but the reviews on Tripadvisor are great and the location is perfect. This hotel is no longer available for your dates but the Radisson Berkshire on Oxford st is avalable for $165
  2. Priceline have added the "Name your own price" for Barbados. Does anyone know if the 4* is the Hilton?
  3. Taking heed of the bids accepted for a 3* Airport hotel I bid $43 but it was rejected. I'll try $45 in a few days.
  4. Thanks thereuare, I can't beleive I didn't see that before, maybe I'm so used to looking at the top. Anyway, my last bid of $100 was rejected, I'll try again in a few days & up it.
  5. First of all I checked out the hotel list on this site for Priceline Palm Springs & saw that among the hotels listed there were a few resort hotels in Rancho Mirage; Renaissance Esmeraldo, Hyatt Grand Chapion etc. Then I went over to the Priceline site & thought I'd start bidding. I clicked on the Rancho Mirage zone & saw that the highest level of hotels was 3*upscale. Is this the level for the resort hotels ? Thanks
  6. I've just checked out the priceline hotels available in Rancho Mirage but they're listed as resort & don't have any star ratings. What do I have to do to bid on these resorts. When I checked out the Priceline site for Rancho Mirage there's only 3 * upscale.
  7. I started at $70 & kept upping my bid by 2 or 3 dollars before on my 7th bid of $90 was accepted.
  8. I probably could've got it lower, I don't know coz my 1st bid was for $18 & it was accepted.
  9. Checking the list of facilities on this site for the 4 stars he only thing I noticed was that you've cancelled out the golf facility for Caesars Palace, however they do list it as a facility themselves on their website. Should I look on the Hotwire hotel list for the 4* without golf? BTW Thanks thereuare for all your help.
  10. My friend has managed to get the Venetian for 99$ on October 6th. Should I do 2 seperate bids 1 for the 6th & another 1 for the 7th? If I also got it for 99$ I could up my bid for the 2nd night. Is this adviseable. I really think it's almost impossible to know which are the 4* properties on hotwire the facilities listed are pretty much all the same.
  11. 1st bid - Scottsdale 4* 80$ rejected 2nd Bid - Scottsdale 3* 85$ rejected 3rd bid - added Phoenix North 85$ accepted
  12. Thanks thereuare, I was hoping to pay a lot less bcoz we'll be arriving quite late & will be leaving very early in the morning so it seems a bit of a waste paying over 100$. Anyway, I can bid again tomorrow & if the situation hasn't changed I'll start to check out some B/B's in the area. BTW do priceline let you know when you can bid again or do you just wait until the 72 hours are up.
  13. I forgot to add that Priceline offered me a 221$ deal for the 5* which I rejected.
  14. My bid of 100$ was rejected both for a 3* & 2 1/2* I need a hotel for 1 night on the 1st of October. Any ideas?
  15. Caesars Palace isn't listed on Priceline so I take it it isn't available there. Does anyone know how I an identify this hotel among Hotwires 4* property. I tried to get the Venetian on Priceline but my 175$ bid was refused, I will try again in 3 days time but if it's again rejected my 2nd choice is Caesars.
  16. The Hilton is the one on Union Square West. My 1st bid was for Union Square East & it wasn't accepted, then I added West & got the Hilton. I will post my dates on a new Monterey topic.
  17. I'm staying at the Hilton and would appreciate any info on the garage across the street. does anyone know how I can contact them to reserve a space. However, I also have another idea. Our car will be a hire car, which I still have'nt booked so I don't know the company, but if they have an ofice in San Francisco I was thinking about asking them if I can leave the car there for a couple of days. Has anyone does this?
  18. Hi I live in Italy & following all your guidlines i was able to bid on priceline even though I don't have an American address. Anyway, maybe I paid too much I don't know bcoz my 1st bid of 75$ for a 4 star San Francisco hotel was accepted & I gor the Hilton, but I'm really happy with the price for this category of hotel. Whereas I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a 3 star hotel in monterey for 100$.. Thanks for all the info regarding priceline, I would never have attempted to use this reservation service if it wasn't for this site.
