  1. Yes, I was very surprised to find the express deal. And now I know you can save a little more by bidding. :) We would like to do an Architectural River Tour. There's a discount travel site that offers 20% off, $25.60 instead of $32 for adults. Does anyone have experience with VIATOR or is there a better way to get tix? Not sure if you can get a deal directly from the operators at the Pier. tia
  2. From your list of possible hotels, any of them would have worked. The Express Deal went up to $79/night so decided to bid. Used the 4* rebid zones to finally get a room for $70/night. You were right, ended up with the Sax. Very happy with the results, saved 50% off Hotwires standard rate. Thank you very much for your help!
  3. Thanks for the quick reply and the insight into looking at the guest score. But priceline is a little sneaky in saying that it is an 8+ score. Hard to narrow down the actual hotel. We've been to Chicago and the pier a few times. Normally stay in Skokie to save cost, especially the parking fee. We would be happy with the Sax. But the express price keeps inching up each time we click on the "negotiator." Maybe will take a risk and bid.
  4. Hello, looking to stay in Chicago within walking distance of the navy pier. Check-in on July 8th for one night. There's a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a "4 Star Hotel in North Michigan Ave - River North Area for $76/night." Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center $76/night for 2 Double Superior Features Upscale Decor And Luxury Amenities Two Double Beds Does anyone know which hotel this could be? Also, would it be cheaper to bid and still get the same hotel? If we are looking for a 4* hotel, which zone is better for getting a hotel close to the pier? The W Lakeshore would be perfect but it's $189/night. :( Thank you P.S. I clicked the PRICELINE link to begin my search!
  5. Hyatt Deefield is a nice hotel but a little too far north for us. Decided on Skokie since we have our own car. Ended up getting 3* DoubleTree Skokie for $50/night on 3/31~4/1. Thanks for your help...used the PRICELINE link to help the site. :)
  6. Thanks for the tip. How do you know it's the James? Out of curiosity, I checked the James out but they don't show any rooms available during my trip and no pool. :( Anyone else on this forum have any experience with Lastminutetravel.com?
  7. I'd like to be less than $125 total to save money for parking. Would 3* give me better chances of staying in budget and pool? I didn't see a lot of bid results for 3* NMA/Loop so not sure what is typical price. Another option is Skokie since Doubletree was a recent result...good price, no parking fee, and swimming pool. Just not convenient.
  8. Tried this morning with no luck for a 4*. Used rebid zones to go up to $105 for NMA and Loop. Might have to drop to 3.5*. Saw someone get the Club Quarters Wacker. Does anyone know if this hotel offers access to a swimming pool? Do most 4* have swimming pools? My bid price is getting close to a named hotel deal so might take sure thing to guarantee a swimming pool.
  9. I clicked through the links provided. I no longer see the hotwire $114 hotel available...must be a busy weekend.
  10. Oh okay, I was thinking one room would be easier to get so the hotels would place a premium on multiple rooms or nights. There are not any additional amenities listed in the details...just a description of what each means.
  11. Hello, I need help booking (2) rooms on NMA or Loop for 3/31~4/1/12. Is it more expensive to book multiple rooms? Would like to get 4* for around $100 + taxes/fees. Another option is to purchase on hotwire. Do you know which hotel this might be? 3star North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast area hotel - $114/night Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s) Thank you PS - I'll use the link when ready to buy.
