  1. While I couldnt find the Makena Resort reported with that set of amenities, it would be my guess. Especially considering the addition of the 'free parking' amenity. Click the Hotwire and PRICELINE links and Im sure Thereur will give you a better idea I stayed there when it was the Prince. Great Beach, so so pool, most rooms if not all have some ocean view
  2. I think that Hotel is the Maui Coast too, but not the price of 215. I show the 3.5* kihei as $161 (which I think is too high already-Id never pay thatfor that property) let alone 215. Maui Coast is $169 on Hotels.com. That 215 number must be from another category
  3. My 'VIP status'(benefit after you reach some threshold) comes with seeing very partial reviews. Normally just a few words...
  4. Thats a toughie. Did you read the comments? Lots of negatives, but a theme was close to the beach and a 'grille' If that means the Grille at the Ramada, 63 is a deal...almost too good to be true. There is a 4* Anaheim South for 73 for your dates with a 95% hotwire customer rec
  5. I *THINK* thats the Hapuna Prince, and I would GUESS Mauna Lani for the 4.5*. Off the top of my head, what beachfronts are left in the map area? Just...Fairmont & Mauna Kea? In that case, I hope Im wrong. Hapuna has some Terrace rooms with a poor view, but when I got there they let me upgrade to an OV for a minimal charge. Great Beach, good hotel
  6. The other property returns if you subtract 2 days to a checkout on 9-1. If you want the other property and you can try to 'add' days to your stay through Hotwire or take another prpoerty if you want to explore another part of the island. btw;I was thinking this new property is the Westin with the 'free parking' amenity as it matches a recent win.
  7. Agree, and want to add Kapalua Villas might also have a resort fee though not showing up listed. If so its about $25 and includes parking , wifi, use of Ritz property, shuttle and a REALLY nice spa
  8. Check for a possible match for the Hilton Suites, but did you see the 4 star for $74 on your dates? it might be the Marriott Suites recently won on earlier posts this week
  9. Ive only stayed at the Sheraton, and its very very very nice. IMO- it has the best location as its next to Blackrock and has a more private feel. But you really cant go wrong with any of these 3, and HOTWIRE offers some great deals
  10. Amenities Airport Shuttle Pool(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Im very happy with this win done thru the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link
  11. I see the 3.5 Hotel now w/4 TA rating...yep, I was looking at the 3.5 Kaanapali Condo w/4.5 TA rating I think you might be right with the Royal Lahaina. Maybe I should book it and stay in Hawaii for two weeks just to be sure
  12. Aston Kaanapali Shores looks to be a match...PRICELINE has a $147/nt price on that one w/out the blind buy btw-Check the PRICELINE bidding board, the Sheraton has been going off as the 4 star at some really good prices for Sept
  13. I tried to 'block' the Harbor Inn from my searches using my Hotwire Express status, but unable because you must STAY at that property thru Hotwire to do that. Ive been there, but not thru hotwire so I was unable to block it. It wasnt worth the chance so I booked elsewhere. If the 2 star is now gone, it might be because it WAS the Dana Point Marina Inn. In my attempt to block the Harbor Inn from my searches, the Hotwire rep noticed another Marina Inn. Isnt this nuts? There is another Marina Inn on Coast Hwy(unlike the main one in the harbor) in Dana Point showing on Tripadvisor One is Dana Marina Inn the other Dana Point Marina Inn I hope they straighten this all out, because the Marina Inn located in the Harbor is certainly worth $128 in August
  14. 2* 2-star Hotel in Laguna Beach - Dana Point Near Beach Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Free Parking Free Breakfast Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Handicapped parking 2.5-star Hotel in Laguna Beach - Dana Point Near Beach Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet <amenity names only please... not descriptions> I definately want to avoid the Dana Point Harbor Inn. While one might think it would be easy because its only a 2.5 on Tripadvisor, there is a caution that its sometimes incorrectly shown as 3.5 on Hotwire
  15. IMhere, You will probably get a Gold Ridge Villa, which is a very very nice win for Christmas. I dont think any Golf Villas are considered POV. Also my wife would rather stay in a Gold Villa than the Ritz...so they are nice You will have a great time Thank you for the report Roadguy
  16. My guess would be a Kapalua Villa, but I wouldnt take it blindly as they might give you a golf villa where the well reviewed ones are Gold Partial OV(I stayed in a gold OV, wow...nice) or Gold OVs in the Ridge & Bay. Look at the Hotel section, Ritz for just $299! Take that...or the 233 4star in Kaanapali(Sheraton ? Hyatt?) or 3 star condo in Wailea $155
  17. I would guess Outrigger Palms, but would rather not gamble & take the Wailea Grand Champions from the 'more hotels' section of HOTWIRE because I show it the same price($168) for your dates. Either that or try bidding PRICELINE Let us know what you do, good luck
  18. update While eating an excellent pizza at 'Sals Italian Restaurant' I looked across the street and noticed the Royal Inn. Whoa, the Travelodge next door looked like the Taj Majal in comparison. It looked like the exterior pictures of the Royal Inn were from many years ago, as today there is an aged facade w/exposed plywood. While I didnt see the inside, I cant possibly believe this could be a 3 star by any standard. FYI- There is a Motel 6 for $39 and a Best Inn for $34/nt 200/wk both on Richmond that looked far better
  19. If you choose a Kona property, be prepared for the possibility of VOG, a volcanic haze. The kohala coast still gets some, but its not as bad. I ended up going with the 'Beachfront' W/KC 4 star which turned out to be the Hapuna Prince. I thought the Prince was a GREAT value. I passed on the well priced 3 star which I thought we the Paniolo Greens, not that they arent nice but they are from the beach. I dont know about the 4 star condos, but they are probably one of the nice ones down near the Mauna Lani/Fairmont...great area, but not the greatest beaches
  20. thereuare is right, I dont know how much further you want to move out but yet another idea for Hotwire take the 3.5 star in Georgetown/FB the 9th & 10th and then what appears to be the Normandy for the last 2days...it blends out at 114/nt
  21. Thank you for sharing that important piece of information, as it was listed for $44/nt on my dates. While it looks worth $44/nt, its NOT 3 star as advertised Im very happy that Hotwire refunded your money
  22. Congrats, What a great win! One of the best deals I have seen on Priceline. If I could get that property anywhere near $150 for my dates in Jan 13, I will jump on it Thank you for sharing
  23. Aaron, Thank you for the link Does this mean I really have to wait till after I make my initial reservation before I know if adding a day is possible? In other words, I could book the 27th at a good rate, and its possible the 26th would be denied on 'availability' which could mean they dont want to sell the 26th at that price
