  1. I have been trying for about a week for a 5* in Barcelona. I started at $100 and just increased a bit every day. I was declined yesterday at $155, was counter-offered at $180. Today I got the Eurostars Grand Marina for $160. I know you can get 4* for quite a bit less, but the I think this hotel is so much nicer than the 4* I have seen in Barcelona. As always I began my bidding with the PRICELINE link here.
  2. NICE! This is very cool. I just looked up my Amsterdam hotel and even though I have been there many times I have a much better understanding of where the Priceline hotels are from your map. This is going to help many people. Thank you! I just wonder where you find the time???
  3. Started at $50 with this zone and added free rebids; last rejected bid was $63 before being accepted at $67. I have stayed here before and I'm pleased with this win. Thanks for the great info on this board. I started my bidding with your PRICELINE link here.
  4. Thank you, I am very happy with the results. I am familiar with the property and the only down side is that it is a bit of a walk to the city center. However for Queens Day it might be nice to be able to get away from the party for a break! I was going to bid 5* but I didn't want to get the Hilton because it is too far from the city centre, I think this property is a little closer. This is my fourth trip to Amsterdam for the end of April and I was very happy with this deal. Thank you for the valuable information here, I have saved a lot of money!
  5. Started bidding yesterday at $80, was counter-offered at $98, I didn't take it. I added the North zone and bid $85 and was declined. Today I bid $90 and was counter-offered at $112, I didn't take it. I added the North zone and bid $95 and it was accepted for the Moevenpick Hotel. Total price including taxes and fees for 7 nights $758.93 I used your PRICELINE link here to begin my bidding.
  6. The Australian dollar has been dropping and I'm not sure if I could have got this for less or not. It was my first bid for these dates and I didn't think I would get it at this price. I had to pay $160 for 2 nights on 11/4-11/6, I had been denied below that for those dates. The Marriott website has the lowest price room at $242 USD. I used your PRICELINE link here for my bid.
  7. Tried 5* at $125 and was denied, actually I am not sure they even have a 5*....anyone see a win there before? So then I added 4* and dropped to $90, was again denied. Next day bid 4* for $100 and won. I stayed here last year and it was very nice, so I am happy with this win! Marriott website has the lowest rate at $190 USD for this night. I used your PRICELINE link here to start my bid.
  8. Bid $150 yesterday and was countered with a $22 increase. Bid $160 today and got it. I have stayed here on Priceline wins the last 2 years and I really enjoyed this hotel. The Marriott website shows the least expensive room at $261 USD. Now to work on Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Wellington, another Sydney room......I'll keep you posted! I used your PRICELINE link here to place my bid.
  9. Tried again today. Bid 5* up to $265 without success. Then bid 4* at $218 and was countered at $246. I guess I will be booking through Hotels.com for this.
  10. I have had success in Barcelona on Priceline for earlier in September, also when I was there in July this year. I am not having much luck now though!
  11. I have been bidding without success for a few weeks now. I need a room from 9/26-9/28 in Barcelona, prefer to be centrally located. I bid up to $240 for a 5* in Las Ramblas, last bid on 8/25. I then switched to 4* and yesterday bid $200 and was counter-offered at $225. I thought great I will get it on my next bid at $212. I tried that today and was again counter-offered, but this time at $237. At this point I don't think I am going to be saving much money using Priceline. I can get Casanova by Rafael Hotels for $248, Alexandra Hotel for $258, or Eurostars Grand Marina for $398 on Expedia or Hotels.com. This trip is for my parents for their anniversary and I want to be sure I get a nice hotel in a central location. I was thinking of bidding $260 for a 5* tomorrow and if that fails bid $218 for a 4*, or are there any other options that you can recommend for me? BTW, Hotwire has 4.5* Marina-Downtown-Las Ramblas for $379, not much of a bargain there. Thank you, I usually get a nice deal through PRICELINE and HOTWIRE, but this time it has been difficult.
  12. Bid $200 and was counter-offered at $244. I didn't take their offer. I added a free re-bid zone and bid $215, it was also declined. I added another free re-bid zone and bid $222 and won the Eurostars Grand Marina. Not having the same luck for 9/26-9/28, but I will post my win when I get it. I used the link here to start my PRICELINE bidding.
  13. The Moevenpick Frankfurt website is offering it's best rate at 180 EU, which is $283.62 US dollars (today's exchange rate anyway) total for the 2 nights. I got this on my first bid, which in this case I don't mind a bit. At $41 per night ($105.30 total including taxes and service fees) I am VERY happy! I used your links here, however I am somewhere in Spain right now and I keep getting knocked off the internet. I didn't have to start over to get to PL so hopefully you will get the credit for this bid. I'm not sure if you can check or not. Thanks again for your helpful site, I sure am saving lots of money! :)
  14. Got this on the first bid :) Hotwire had a 4* DFW airport for $72. The Hyatt Regency website had their least expensive room at $219, (and no it wasn't the Grand Hyatt!) The Westin was at $152. So I know I got a good deal, I just hate it when I get it on the first bid! Total with taxes and service fees $58.90 I used the PRICELINE link.
  15. First bid $175 and was countered with a $25 increase offer. Declined that, added a free rebid zone and raised my bid to $185. Offer was accepted and I got the hotel I was hoping for. The hotel website had the lowest rate at $250. I used the PRICELINE link here.
  16. Started at $40, went up by $5 until accepted at $55. Hotel website has the lowest rate at $259 for this night. This hotel is not as nice as the DFW Grand Hyatt, but at this price I am very happy.
  17. Bid $120 for one night and was rejected. Added another day and bid $130 and was accepted. I tried the add a night feature but was not able to use it. So I did another bid to get the four nights I needed. The Marriott web site has these dates priced at $229 for the lowest rate room.
  18. I was bidding on the day of check-in and the airport zone was grayed out. Bid up to $100 on a 5* without success. Started a new bid for the first night at $80 without success. Bid for all 3 nights and price was accepted. We stayed at another hotel one block away the night before, so we had to move. Nice hotel, great service, but about a 15 minute walk to the dome. I usually don't leave things until the last second but it couldn't be helped in this case. Tried to edit this to correct the dates. Should be 7/17-7/20.
  19. My last bid that was rejected was $55 before winning this hotel at $60. I did have Frisco as the other possible 4* area included in this bid. I used the SavingsBarn link. Thank you again for this site, it has helped me save lots of money.
  20. Started bidding for a 4* at $85. Since Seattle has so many free re-bid areas, I bid up $5 until I got to $100 and then went to $2 increases. I wanted to see how close I could get to their lowest acceptable bid. I bid $108 and was rejected, increased to $110 and won. The Westin website's lowest rate is $209 ($241.60 with taxes). The PL total with taxes was $134.05, a very nice savings. I have bid this star level and zone twice before and got the Sheraton, which is undergoing renovations and not very desirable at the moment. When I saw how many people were winning the Westin I decided to try PL again; and I am very glad I did. The Westin is a lovely property and I'm looking forward to my stay. So thank you for the wonderful information here! I used the SavingsBarn link for my bid. (Will you ever get a direct link to them like you have for HOTWIRE ?) Thank You!
  21. Here are the amenities Hotwire showed for the hotel: airport shuttle fitness center pool restaurant tennis nearby I apologize for not using your link for my Hotwire purchase, I had forgotton you had a direct one. I have changed my Hotwire "favorites" link to take me here instead of directly to that site in the future. I do appreciate your site and I will be happy to support it.
  22. Tried PL at $45 and was rejected, added free rebid area and raised bid by $5. Then I got an error message that the earliest day I could bid for a hotel in CT was 1/27/07. I was bidding on 1/25/07 at 8:35pm Pacific Time, still before midnight in CT. I don't understand why it let me bid the first time but not the second. I tried calling PL customer service...what a joke, no way to get a real person on the line. Went to Hotwire and got this hotel at $59. The Crown Plaza website showed rooms beginning at $92. Nice savings. Thanks again for your great site.
  23. Doesn't seem like much of a bargain, Expedia has the Prince for $234 for the same dates. Guess I will check elsewhere. I will use your links whenever possible, thank you.
  24. Hello, I didn't see this on your hotel lists, can you help me identify?
