  1. Even more surprising is that when I go directly to the hotel website this morning, it tells me there's no availabilty for that date. Unless someone booked a huge block of rooms this morning (the Ravens, maybe?), it's practically unheard of for a PRICELINE room to be awarded with a hotel close to capacity.
  2. Omni William Penn Hotel 530 William Penn Place Pittsburgh, PA 15219 412-281-7100 Check-In: Sunday, January 18, 2009-03:00 PM Check-Out: Monday, January 19, 2009-12:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $85.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $85.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $19.78 (USD) Total Room Cost: $104.78 (USD) Very surprised to get that at this price considering that the Steelers will be hosting the AFC Championship game that day. It's the same price that I knew had been accepted for a regular weekday, so I started with it and nailed it on the first bid. Here we go Steelers, here we go!! 3. Flying in late on the 24th, and at first tried the pickup/dropoff at $24 using 2/24 - 3/3. Rejected. Figuring I had time to bid up a buck at a time, I bumped the request back to 12:05 AM the following day and got it for $25. Total Charges to your Credit Card: Your Offer Price: $25.00 Total Rental Days: 7 Subtotal: $175.00 Taxes & Fees: $91.94 Total Charges: $266.94 The lowest total price I'd been able to get (on Dollar and using discount codes) was $333. Big win here!
  4. Mea culpa! The one-night date of our stay was Friday, December 30.
  5. Kind of surprised me here, since normal rates are in the 120's here. But Radisson has a sale going on now that I didn't take into consideration, and that may have affected the price. First bid, no need to rebid, but if I had to do it over again, I'd start at 42 and work my way up since you get three free re-bids in this area.
  6. Based on the earlier $50 bid and knowing I had a re-bid in the stadium area, I decided to start at $47 and re-bid if I had to. I didn't, and got the airport Marriott. It was kind of nice landing this one at the last minute, since a drive back to Harrisburg after my second Jimmy Buffett concert in three days (and at midnight) wouldn't have been any fun at all. Fins up! 7. Just as an FYI - If you're driving to this property, there will be an additional $17 (maybe only $12?) charge for parking. If you're flying, this is the greatest place to stay. It's right off the B Concourse. You don't even have to go outside!
  8. I notice that the line after "Someone has to say it..." was deleted above. I'd like to apologize for calling the moderator of the other board a name that equates to someone with an IQ below 20. IQBasics That ain
  9. Someone has to say it, and it might as well be me. Yep, I got banned with no explanation. I asked for one, and haven't received it, but I really don't much care. Ya'll seem like good people over here! At any rate, I created another account, and while I can no longer access her site from my home PC, I easily do so through my work VPN (which is on a laptop exactly next to the "banned" PC and obviously IP address). Oh, and by the way... the VPN is NOT a static IP address, so I can't be banned by that. Whee! So -- here I am, STILL taking all the tips from their board while giving nothing in return. And you know what? I'm OK with that. In fact, I feel pretty darn good about it in this case. Thanks all for letting me vent, and can I get anyone a cup of coffee while I'm up?
