Thanks. It will be fine for one night. We're just going to book directly with the Hyatt. For 3 nights they have a 30% discount - $140 vs $110 range I saw on Hotwire. Don't want to take a chance for 3 nights. I'll pay the extra for piece of mind. I appreciate your help.

We got the Fairmont. I think I messed up though. I was still a little nervous, so I only booked one night. The amenitites looked very similar, but I should have noticed that there was no resort fee. I know the Hyatt charges a resort fee. When I do another search, there is a 4* Newport Beach with a resort fee. Oh well! Live and learn. Below are the amenities listed on my confirmation. Finally bit the bullet and went ahead with the reservation. Already had two nights booked at the Loews Santa Monica, but cancelled that reservation and went this one. Shore Hotel, Santa Monica Mar. 13-15 2 adults, 2 children Oceanfront property golf nearby pool(s) tennis nearby high speed internet I've been tracking this property for a while. The best rate on their website is $318. I used the HOTWIRE link from this site.

I ended getting the Crowne Plaza Avenue for $130/night through PRICELINE. Thanks again for your help!

I started bidding at $100 and was going in $5 increments. After $125, I went up to $127. Priceline countered with $150. I wasn't willing to do that, so I added Millenium Park-The Loop and increased my bid to $130 and got the Crowne Plaza. Their website price was $170/night. The reviews on Trip Advisor are mixed, but the location seems really good. I guess we will see!
