  1. I finally booked a cancelable direct hotel one night at Gatwick at the end of my trip to be assured being closer to the airport. Those other nights I also booked through your Hotels.com link the Melia White House, of which details are in this LOOOONG hotel thread . Thanks for your help.
  2. Never went on this trip in the end due to very high airline tickets. Thanks for your help.
  3. if it's like Priceline, it isn't ALWAYS at the same price.... but at least, even if it is more, one doesn't have to change hotels.
  4. 3 adults August 17-19 $82 rec. 80% amenities fitness, pool, rest., business, laundry, hs internet, golf nearby thank you I'm thinking it is the Hilton, but doesn't match up to previous amenities
  5. Thanks. I hope to begin the California trip arrangements soon, so you will be hearing from me again, I am sure!
  6. August 23-26. 3 adults amenities: smoke free, comp breakfast, fitness, hs internet thank you
  7. Has the re-bidding system changed in the past years?
  8. Is it not true that adding the Financial District is not a true correct free re-bid in this case for 2*? One could always be upgraded. A Free re-bid is no 2* ( in this case) or ABOVE. This could get one into trouble in other areas. This time it was fairly safe as the Financial district hotels would most likely not accept such a low bid. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  9. sorry...latin quarter, st germain and it is $138 any ideas?
  10. You can see the winning bids yourself and come to a conclusion. Put "paris" above in the search box and you will see what people have won at hotwire AND priceline. $75/ per room does not seem like it is going to get you what you want unless you go far away from the city itself. Try through the support link page here the Accor hotels. They sometimes have more reasonable rates.
  11. There's a library and wellness center across the street with great caf
  12. 90% customer sat. amenities are laundry/kitchenette
  13. Thanks, Liset. I read somewhere someone ( maybe it was YOU?)mentioning they had not been lucky with Boston until a few weeks before, so I am not wasting anymore time on this right now. Do you have a recent summer Logan win to share with me, or an idea of what I might be able to get? It seems the Embassy Sites is sold out ( called them) for some employee weekend or something. So is another place affiliated with them. So who knows. I hope to be lucky. Fortunately there are plenty of 4* free rebids for the Logan area.
  14. Have played around with this up to $82 and will wait to bid again until much closer to the date. The Hotwire hotels have also remained the same. Hopefully this summer I will be close to a winning bid under $90 for our one quick sleep.
  15. You can ask for bed choice once you have booked the hotel, but of course there is no guarantee you will get that.. even in normal bookings they don't always guarantee bed types.Become a member in the hotel's frequent stay club.. that might help a bit.
  16. The Victoria does get a few extra points over the Plaza, but I really like the Plaza's location, too. You have a really great bus ( RV1 I believe) there that goes all the way to Tower Bridge, and in the other direction, to Covent Garden. Nice views always near the river, too. You have the Tate Modern, London Eye and a lot of interesting sites there. 90% customer satisfaction is great, and unfortunately, these deals "disappear" sometimes from one day/hour to the next.. or come back later.. more expensive or, sometimes.. cheaper. Good luck. No matter which hotel it is.. even not one of those mentioned, it is obviously very appealing.
  17. I wouldn't jump at a 60% Hotwire satisfaction, myself. I don't know the answer to your question, this is just an opinion. That is very low IMO.
  18. Not really. I'm all set. But have fun seeing what other people get! Ha ha ha!
  19. On Hotwire, accepting a 4* hotel that has a 90% customer satisfaction should be lovely. Sometimes there may be a 5* also at a good price. Check that out, too, as it is easier to figure out which hotel you will get and perhaps you may be happier with that rather than bidding the unknown since you are not able to get anything in your price range so far where you want.
  20. When I looked, one had 4 circles filled and the other 3.5. Good luck!
  21. I am no expert but the Trip Advisor rating seems to reflect the HI Regent's Park more than Bloomsbury. It is also listed on the hotel list. It comes up at 3.5 on TA and the Bloomsbury at 4.0 I hope it turns out to be what you expect.
  22. Congratulations! Looks like a bargain to say the least! If you like dance, check out the sadler wells theater website as it is not far from there.
  23. Sorry, August 3, one night. 3* $123, 2.5* $139 ( 100% customer sat.) 4* non opaque Hyatt $183. Maybe these prices ARE normal for dates so far away. Will keep an eye on things this winter!
