  1. ok. i did it correct this time. and actually had to close it several times do to the amount of bidding i did. we FINALLY got a room at the Hill Country Hyatt for $245.00 pn. Taxes and priceline fees are an additional $40.00pn (ouch). i am also anticipating the $10.00 resort fee. This is spring break week (my kids are out that's why we want to go). cheapest rooms on the web are $315 pn. we would have paid that rate becasue the hotel has a great kids club. i feel like we got a deal for a nice hotel in high season. i will post a critique of the hotel upon my return. thanks for the info and i promise to apply what you reccommend next time! it will save me some time too.
  2. i apologize for wasting your time. it's been 8 months since my last bid and i thought i knew it. i now have a good 48 hours to do what i should have done before.. read up. i will pick up where i left off come thursday. thanks and again, my apologies
  3. on my priceline there was no "zone 7". i counted down to the item and selected that.
  4. I am sorry but i forgot to add that. Yes i did as instructed and bid that way. still rejected.
  5. i closed the browser and re opened then re-bid as instructed. i received a "can't bid due to duplication" message stating i have to wait before the rebid. what did i do wrong? i closed and even re-booted to make sure i was clear.
  6. i am trying to get into the hill country hyatt but am afraid i will land at the radisson. online, the radisson is sold out. the hyatt has rooms at $350.00 per. 1. if i bid, with the radisson sold out online, will that mean i will be less likely to get a rad room? 2. what bidding strategy should i use assuming a $350.oo per night online cost at the hyatt? thank you
  7. i just finished my stay and thought i would add a comment about the Prince. I have to agree nearly 100% with epicureangirl. Her comments were right on the money. My exceptions were as follows: the double bed was not comfortable at all. Very much what i would expect in a low-end hotel. However, they did have feather pillows. I was not struck by the interior decor. However i did think the bathroom was spacious with a seperate bath and shower. The halls were worn and not updated. as epi said, the staff was terrific. they did not mentioned priceline at all. The hotel was very clean. But if your flight is early, they will not bend on letting you get into the room until your 2pm check-in time. there is a hertz rental car center in the hotel. Its a nice touch to rent and drop off at the valet. use your triple-A and get a bettr price. the lobby was very well maintained and clean. this is where the 4-stars are coming from. I have been to a lot of hotels around the world. This is not a 4-star. Don't purchase here thinking you are getting a 4 star quality hotel room. 3 star yes.. However, i have been at other waikki hotels and understand what dumps a lot of them are.. it might just be a 4-star in terms of wha you can get in oahu. i will also say this. This is a property that caters to the japanese. It did not bother me, but i did not seee another non-asian in the hotel during my stay. I say this as not a warning, but as a thought that this hotel is NOT marketed to the american market. i sense it is mainly focused on the asian market and thus 4-stars in the american market might be seen differently in asia. for what it is worth.
  8. my bad yes honolulu, waikiki north zone 4 star. sorry
  9. i thought i would post my winning bid here after a run-in with the soup n--- on (tobb). I was banned and now i am here where i will spend my money. the hawaii prince (honolulu) base price for mid july must be around $115. I started at 105 and was rejected through free re-bids to $115 where i received a $22 counter. i refused and rebid at $120 and landed it. 2-rooms including a saturday stay. TOBB banned me when i failed to read one of the 10k posts required. i literally called her a "soup n---, No Hotel for You!" and got the boot. :) now i am here and happy to post my winning bids.
