  1. Downtown Montreal zone, a block and a half up avenue du President-Kennedy from the Place des Arts Metro station (on the opposite side from the Hyatt Regency, though -- it has no direct connection to the Underground City) and backing up onto rue Sherbrooke (you can enter and exit on Sherbrooke during the day, but must walk around to President-Kennedy to get back in at night). Ethernet is available in certain rooms for C$9.99/day, I think (self-)parking in the hotel's very cramped underground garage was C$15/day (my stay was three months ago) -- I was glad to have rented a compact rather than an SUV, though some daring drivers managed to get their Explorers and Yukons into a spot. The front desk may try to upsell a premium room at an additional C$20/night when you check in, but I wouldn't bother with it -- the standard room I was assigned when I asked for one with Ethernet was absolutely cavernous. All in all, quite a good place to base myself for a weekend of hockey and stress-relief by exploration. And don't forget to hit the 24-hour Tim Hortons (donuts, bagels, sandwiches, soups, coffee/tea/hot chocolate) two blocks west at the corner of Sherbrooke and University. :)
  2. Courtyard Toronto Downtown I was quite happy with this hotel -- Ethernet included in the room rate, excellent location, newspaper every morning. I saw absolutely no difference between how I was treated as a Priceline customer vs. a full-pricer. The neighborhood 2 blocks north and ~3-4 blocks south might be borderline unsuitable for kids, but you're perfectly fine along Yonge from the hotel to the College St. subway station. Valet parking is pretty low capacity at C$23/day -- fortunately, I didn't even have to take my car out while I was in Toronto, due to the excellent subway/streetcar system.
  3. Westfields Marriott Got this on a first bid. Hotel is about 10 minutes from IAD, free parking, free continental breakfast, Ethernet available for $9.95/24 hours (noon to noon). One oddity is that they claimed to have no king rooms at all since "this is a conference hotel, everything is 2 queen-size." Very nice hotel, awfully close to 4* rating in my book.
  4. For my 20-22 June trip, I chose the 3.5* customer favorite at $62/night, and it was in fact the Hotel Wyndham Montreal.
