  1. I got suckered and was trying to get the same hotel as another bid for the same night as the other could not accomodate 4 people... I didn't!!! I had also tried first for 4*'s which had been popping up for $75 in a few zones ... i wnet up to $85. Last minute same day bid for some friends from Sweden. This hotel had no problem assigning a two double bed room to accomadate 4 people. Midtown South 522 West 38th Street New York, New York 10018 212-405-1700 Your Offer Price: $75.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes: $17.62 Processing Fee: $5.95 Total Charges: $173.57
  2. I went straight to the closest Kinko's after renting a car (I had AVIS vouchers so the car was free). I knew Seattle's prceline offerings extremely well so I was fairly confident to get accepted somewhere. Tacoma was my first choice and I got my acceptance within 30 seconds. I can't imagine being stuck in similar circumstances but past priceline's deadline for same day bids ... perhaps, I would spend the night in the airport instead fo coughing up so much more for a 1*!!!
  3. I got really lucky as I was supposed to fly out BUT the flight was overbooked and instead, took the $400 Delta voucher. I was pretty sure that I would find a Seattle area hotel accepting on the same day. This is a great hotel and I was upgraded to their club level with my SPG-gold and had a great 24th floor view of the ocean with breakfast and evening snacks. Weekend parking is free on the street. Your Offer Price: $29.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $29.00 Taxes: $3.85 Processing Fee: $5.95 Total Charges: $38.80
  4. Bill, you are really on the move. From FL to GA to NC to CA and than SD in June!!! I would have suggested getting an RV but it seems you are doing much better on priceline.
  5. Actually, just looked at the "home" section of the Dell website and they have a great one (the one below your model) P4 2.0 for $699 which includes free shipping, 17" moniter and on top, a $100 mail in rebate. This is for one of my friends at my university. I actually use a P2 labtop (believe it or not) and it is lightening fast on our wireless network.
  6. The 4* Westin FLL-North accepts really low ... I would try $45, $50 just to test the waters, otherwise, you have to go into the $70's. You do have lots of free bids for 4*'s as you know downtown and Hollywood won't even give you a shot. I know in other cities like Philly, NYC the prices will amaze you if you wait till the last couple weeks. In fact, some hotels only accept a week before.
  7. I was bidding this area for my uncle last month and the best deal is the new 4* Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation. This is in the FL-west zone and usually goes for only $40. With the savings, you could rent a car because the hotel is about 10+ miles from the airport!!! I read the reviews on flyertalk and the hotel seems great.
  8. You are right .... 7.789 times $1US. I will post the conversion next time .... BUT I have long run out of fresh email addresses to take advantage of their one-time per account bonus offer.

  11. I actually booked this over a month ago. At the time (including taxes), My Priceline total was $202 Hotwire wanted $199+5 Expedia wanted $222 Priceline's counteroffer was $215 Delta itself wanted $230 So, I saved a couple buck BUT I really wanted to test out Priceline on flights. I had many rebid opportunities as flying out of JFK/LGA was higher at the time. So, I inched up slowly with many bids. I also tried Expedia's flight matcher which does not require any changes or even a waiting period to bid again. I went up to $201 on Expedia and got rejected.
