Is this the Golden Nugget? My understanding is that it is the only 4* property in that zone, is that right?

4. Hi guys, I noticed this hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. Do you think it's the Mirage even though its' only listed as 4* and Mirage is supposed to be 4.5*? Or could it be Treasure Island? I'm confused about the resort fee though. What do ya'll think? Thanks! :) 4-Star Express Deal Hotel Las Vegas Strip North Area $103/night Business Center Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Additional Mandatory Fee:$33.60/night
5. Booked through the PRICELINE link on the BB website: 10/23-10/25 PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal: 4.5* 8/10 guest score Free Parking Business Center Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center $175 per night, and resort fees of $32.48 per night. I am very happy with this result. When booking Vegas strip hotels I am pretty picky and willing to pay more for a nice property like The Mirage, so this was a happy ending. Thanks again for all the useful info over the years Better Bidding! :)
6. Yes, sorry, it was the one for $171/night. Wow, I'd take the Venetian for that rate! :) Love that hotel/casino! Maybe I'll give it a try! Thanks! :)
7. Any idea what hotel/casino this is? 5* Las Vegas North Strip Area 10/23-10/25: Guaranteed Amenities: Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center
8. First attempt, bid $150 per night for Downtown Long Beach, CA, 3.5 stars or better. I have stayed at Hotel Maya before and it's quite nice, so I was really hoping to get it! Prices on the Hilton website (it's a Hilton/Doubletree property) were around $265 per night, and what *appeared* to be Hotel Maya on Hotwire was showing about $177. So this is a great price for a great property and I'm thrilled!!! Thanks Better Bidding! :)
9. Ok this worked out beautifully!!! Thank you for all your help! :) Dates: 3/17-3/20 Rate: $169/night - $20 discount at checkout! :) I am beyond thrilled with this rate for the 4* Westin Beach Resort, which is essentially right on the beach from what I've been reading! Thanks again sooo much for the great advice!!! :)
10. Awesome! I think that hotel would work nicely, and the price is great! How do I enter a coupon code when booking through Hotwire?
11. Ok, I might have found a hotel that could possibly work! 4* Ft Lauderdale Beach area 3/17-3/20 $172 per night Resort Pet friendly Near beach Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Tennis nearby Spa services Children's activities Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower I'm guessing this is the The Westin Beach Resort & Spa, Fort Lauderdale, am I right? If so I think it might work! :)
12. So doing a little more research, it looks like we'd have to go all the way up to Daytona Beach to get a beachfront hotel in that price range. While that's not out of the question, I think we'd rather stay a little closer to Miami/Ft Lauderdale. So I'll have to figure out just how far off the beach the "near beach" hotels might be. We don't mind walking across a street, but several blocks would be inconvenient, especially since we might not have a rental car with us.
13. Ok thanks! Checking the Hotwire listings for the "Ft Lauderdale beach area" I see several properties that are "near beach." I assume this means one or two blocks off the beach, which would be fine if it's our only option (prices start around $172 which definitely works!), but I'm wondering if there are slightly less desirable areas where we could get a property right on the beach for a similar price??? I'll keep looking! :)
14. Hi Ya'll! I have a question I could really use some help with. I have to be out in the Miami area on March 20-21 for a meeting, and since it is also the kids' Spring Break week, I thought I would take them along for a little vacation during the week prior (approximately 3/17-3/20). The problem is, I am really, really on a budget this year and Spring Break in Florida is definitely peak season! I've managed to find affordable airfare flying into Ft Lauderdale (it was a little cheaper than flying into Miami), but now I need a hotel or resort. I have only spent a small amount of time in the area, so I don't know where the good beaches, resorts, etc. are. I have some flexibility....we could stay as far south as the Keys, or as far north as West Palm Beach and still easily get back to Miami for the first meeting on Friday afternoon. (We could theoretically even go as far as Sarasota, but I prefer the Atlantic side.) I'd love to hear people's suggestions for booking zones where I might have the best luck and the best prices, and where the best properties are located. Here is what would be ideal: - Beach front hotel/resort (or very, very close). We like to be able to easily walk to the beach from the hotel. - Nice clear water, sandy beach. - Jet skis or other water activities close by. - Touristy area where there will be other kids and families (I don't mind if partying young adults are around, but I'd like to see families there too!). - Nice hotel that doesn't feel run-down (but it doesn't have to be a 5* resort either). Just a quick preliminary search shows these types of properties running about $300 and up per night. I'd be thrilled to get something like this for around $200 per night, as we are only going to be staying 3 nights due to the budget. (Though we do have time to stay an extra day if it was affordable!) I do realize that resort fees, parking fees, etc are common at these types of properties and I'm prepared for extra charges. If anyone has any ideas of where I should be looking/bidding I'd be super grateful! :)
15. It was the Luxor! The price had already gone up to $186 since this morning, but I just needed to get this booked so it's fine. I probably could have gotten a better price (and/or a better property) if I'd started this a month ago, but that's ok. I'm actually looking forward to giving the Luxor a try since I've never stayed there. Oh, and yes free parking was listed, I had just left it off accidentally. Thanks so much for all the help. :)
16. Hi, I'm trying to book a casino hotel right on the strip the weekend of Fri 10/24-Sun 10/26. We are not super picky, but we do need to be on the strip and I'd like it to be 4* or better. Hotwire is offering 4* South Strip Area hotel for $177 with the following amenities: Resort Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Is this the Luxor or Mandalay Bay? I'm fine with either of those actually, though $177 seems a little high. But I need to get this booked asap, so if I can be pretty certain it's one of those two (or something similar) I'd probably just go ahead and book it. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch! CC :)
17. Hi guys, just to update this thread, I ended up booking the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay in the downtown Miami area. I payed full price on the Hilton website because I decided I really wanted this particular hotel based on the room type (balcony overlooking the bay) and location. I like the Hilton brand and Doubletrees in particular, and I get a few perks as a HHonors member, like free Internet and free breakfast coupons. Thanks for all the input!
18. Just to follow up to this thread, I ended up booking the DoubleTree in Monroville through their website and paying full price. Yes, I paid full price LOL! The reason is because that is my favorite hotel in the area and I really wanted to stay there for sure. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn there and it is just not as nice, though certainly not a terrible option in any way. Also, since I'm a Hiltons Honors member, I get some perks like free breakfast, and I don't mind paying full price to stay once in a while, if I'm going to rack up points.
19. Ok thanks, that is very helpful! I'll be sure to book through this site when I make car and hotel arrangements. I'll go back and update that Pittsburgh thread. :)
20. Hi, Maybe someone who travels to Miami a lot can help me with this general question. My son and I are travelling to Miami for a quick trip over the weekend of Friday 10/3 through Sunday 10/5. He is going to be applying to the University of Miami and we are visiting the school. He has never been to Miami and I've only been there one time very briefly almost 20 years ago. We have only a very short amount of time there as we are flying in around 8:30pm Friday night, going to tour the school from about 9am till 12noon on Saturday, and then flying out Sunday morning at 9am. Basically, we will only have Saturday afternoon as free time. During that time, I'd like to go over to the Miami Beach area to walk around, have lunch/dinner, and go to the beach. My question is, what is the best way to get around Miami? Should we rent a car and drive around, or should we be taking taxis or shuttles? Is it possible to park at Miami Beach and is there a public beach we can go to? We will only be going between the airport, a hotel (could be anywhere), the U of Miami in Coral Gables, and Miami Beach. This is all within like a 10 mile radius if i'm not mistaken. Any advice on where to stay and how to get around would be great! I was thinking of just staying near the airport since it might be a little cheaper and the trip is so short, but I'm open to anything. Thanks! CC :)
21. Ok thanks for that! Not sure I will book it as the Holiday Inn is not my top choice in the area.
22. I'm trying to identify this 3* hotel in Monroeville, PA area. Dates 8/31-9/4, Priceline Express Deal, listed at $75 per night. Guaranteed Amenities: Indoor or Outdoor Pool Restaurant Fitness Center Free Parking Free Internet Business Center Any ideas? Thanks! CC :)
23. You were right, it was the Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Rancho Bernardo. Very happy to get this hotel at this price! Thanks for your help!!!
24. Ok thanks! I will try to keep everything in this same thread... How about this 3* hotel in the San Diego North - Poway - Rancho Bernardo area? For this trip I just need to be in the general San Diego area. I prefer the Mission Valley area, but really anywhere reasonably decent and safe will do. Here are the amenities: Free Parking Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Golf Nearby The dates are the same, 6/29-7/4 and this one is $67 per night with a 95% recommended rating. Thanks! :)
