  1. I would have preferred Eagan as well, but Eden Prairie will work for me. You can't go wrong with a $24 hotel room anywhere near Minneapolis!
  2. Declined at $23, accepted at $24. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $24.00 Subtotal: $24.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $10.17 Total Charges*: $34.17
  3. Started bidding at $32, counteroffer of $40 Added free rebid zone, bid $33, counteroffer of $41 Added another free rebid zone, bid $34, accepted No surprises that I got the Residence Inn based on others' winning bids. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $34.00 Subtotal: $34.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $11.67 Total Charges*: $45.67 In checking the reservation on www.marriott.com, this is for a one-bedroom suite with queen bed and sofabed (they also have studio suites available at the same hotel).
  4. New hotel for the hotwire hotel list $29 + $10.35 tax/fees = $39.35 Days Inn and Suites, Irving TX Amenities: Shuttle Complimentary breakfast Pool Restaurant Laundry High-speed internet
  5. $55 + $14.21 tax/fees = $69.21. Used a $25 hot dollar credit from downgrading another reservation so my final cost was $44.21. Amenities: complimentary breakfast (I am leaving too early to take advantage of this) pool business center mixed reviews on Expedia and no reviews yet on Trip Advisor. Just for a brief night's stay before a 6am flight the next day so I am sure I can handle it! John
  6. Just received an EMail from hotwire saying taht this hotel has been downgraded to a 2.5* and therefore they are giving me $25 Hotwire Dollars to spend on a future hotel stay. I guess I have the option to cancel the reservation if I wanted to but I don't want to do that - great location, great price, free airport transportation.
  7. Sorry - Hyatt Dulles. I didn't realize that there are two. John
  8. Started low at $35 since it is 2 months in advance and had plenty of free rebids. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $40.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $11.53 Total Charges*: $51.53 Pleased with the win.
  9. I am sorry about your problems. When I first read that you were given 2 beds I was surprised - they always want an upcharge for a room with two beds. Ironically you WANTED one bed! I routinely stay at Extended Stay in Eagan for +-$25/night before I fly out of MSP airport and have never had a problem. I also stayed at Extended Stay Deluxe in downtown Anchorage twice last summer with no problems (about $50/night) and just this morning booked a hotel on hotwire in Anchorage for next June, knowing almost with 100% certainty that it was the Extended Stay Deluxe Midtown, for $64/night. Considering the hotel costs in Anchorage in the summer, this is about 75% off the best rate. Even a youth hostel for two people in Anchorage costs +-$50. Hotwire rated this Extended Stay Deluxe midtown as 3* which I know it is not. But I am pleased - it is in a very convenient location, had free airport transportation and the rooms are usually very clean. John
  10. Sorry we missed you - we overlapped by a night at the hotel. What did you think of it? See my comments in the Hotel Review forum. John
  11. Note that many rooms in this hotel are TINY. I am talking 8x12'. They wanted about $65/night more for a room with two beds, which we said No Thank You to. The only place to put our luggage was under the desk. There was no room therefore for the desk chair, which we then put in the hallway. One of the hotel staff knocked on our door and asked about the chair in the hallway. I said there was no place in the room for the chair and that if we left it in the room it would be a fire hazard. After repeating this another two times, they took the chair and put it somewhere. But after two nights, we saw the chair back in the room so we again put it in the hallway. They again stored it somewhere. Pretty funny. Oh, and the closet was literally no wider than 1 foot. In comparison to the size of the room, the bathroom was a palace, even having a combination tub/shower. Just be prepared. I didn't think they could make a hotel room that small! John
  12. Base price $64 + $13.87 tax/fee = $77.87 Amenities: Fitness Center, laundry, high speed internet Note that PRICELINE rates this as a 2* hotel! John
  13. I won this 10 days ago but didn't have time until now to post. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$107.00 Subtotal: US$321.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$36.97 Total Charges: US$357.97 I didn't expect this hotel to be considered a 4*. I could have gotten it at a cancellable rate for about the same price. I believe the hotel will only give one bed for this rate but I will ask for two beds when we check in. John
  14. Suite, shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, laundry, high speed internet access $34 + tax/fees = $45.38 total Since I really needed the airport shuttle, I opted for hotwire rather than bidding on priceline. The best rate I could get on a similar hotel was $53 + tax for a Ramada Inn. I am pleased.
  15. Was a bit tough bidding. Trying for an inexpensive hotel in Northeast or Center zones, 3* or 4*. Yesterday I bid $70 for 4* in NE and received counteroffer of $92. After bidding Center zone I went back to Northeast and bid $82 and was accepted at Crowne Plaza. Your Offer Price: US$82.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$82.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$30.15 Total Charges: US$112.15 Best conventional rate is $98 (about $135) plus taxes. John
  16. I noticed the price drop a week or two ago. Unfortunately once you buy from Hotwire I think you are stuck. But fortunately even $50 is a great deal so I can't complain too much.
  17. There is a suite icon and the property is the one on 8th Avenue. It is also marked as "best value." Booked another room for July 1 for the same price. John
  18. Great deal for this hotel with airport shuttle, pool, business center laundry facilities, high-speed internet access, kitchenette. Note that there is an Extended Stay America further south in Anchorage but that is a different hotel. The going rate on Extended Stay's website is over $200. The total including taxes and hotwire's fee is $63.33. This appears to be the first hotel in Alaska to be posted using Hotwire.
  19. Wasn't sure which hotel I would get. This hotel chain, if like in MSP, only offers rooms with 1 bed to Hotwire/Priceline guests unless you use Hotwire and request 2 adt/1 chd. 1 room(s) @ PricePerNight:$45.00 per night x NoOfNights:1 night(s) SubTotal: $45.00 Taxes recovery charges and fees: $11.95 TotalPriceBeforeSavingsAndAddOns: $56.95 Amenities: Fitness Pool Laundry
  20. I know this is really late but I don't visit the site all that much right now. Staybridge Suites would almost fit the bill but they only serve breakfast and don't have a restaurant for other meals if that is what they mean. This might not be relevant to you anymore though anyway.
  21. Started bidding for 4* Vienna west at $52 and was accepted on first bid. Wish I had started lower :) Still this is a great deal for this hotel, which has a published rate for those dates of 121 Euros ($158) per night plus taxes. Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $104.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.61 Total Charges: $131.61
  22. First bid for Millenium Park zone at $62, received counteroffer of $79. Added free rebid and bid $65. Same counteroffer. Then switched to NMA zone at $62 and won on first bid (rats! I hate winning on the first bid when I have free rebids and/or time). But I am pleased. Your Offer Price: $62.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $62.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.84 Total Charges: $78.84
  23. Have been bidding on and off for this for the past month or so. Last bid was a couple of weeks ago at $68 with a counteroffer of $85. Checked rates again tonight and they were about the same as before. I was expecting to get the Holiday Inn but this looks very nice. My first bid of $70 was accepted. Your Offer Price: $70.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $210.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $46.56 Total Charges: $256.56
  24. Bid $30 and received counteroffer of $38. Added the only free rebid zone, bid $32 and was accepted. Total incudling priceline's fee and taxes was $43.28. This hotel apparently has free parking and free high speed wireless internet.
  25. Was a bit tough. Started bidding for 3* Buckhead up to $58 when I finally got a counteroffer of $75. Decided to change zones and bid for Perimeter. Started lower in Perimeter zone and got counteroffer at $48 to pay $62. Kept increasing my bid by $2 using free rebids until I hit it at $56. Looks like a new hotel for the Priceline list. Looks like a nice hotel. Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $56.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.33 Total Charges: $71.33
