  1. The way I read it BEAV, the original reservation had to be made via the Omni website. My original reservation was made with Expedia, so don't think I will qualify. But it will be worth a call. Thanks.
  2. Had the Omni San Francisco booked thru Expedia for $119/nite for February 19 - 21. Checked rates tonight and Expedia is offering same hotel for $94/nite. Rebooked and saved $60. Have same hotel booked via Hotwire for March 26 - 28 for $119/nite so can't cancel that, but Expedia offering same $94 rate. Sorry, but in my excitement forgot to use Expedia link on this site.
  3. nycmb404, Noticed you posted for hotel IDs on the Hotwire side. Understand that one can usually bid ten to twenty percent less on Priceline and usually get the same star rating that Hotwire has. Seeing that the only 3.5* on the Priceline list for Embarcadero/Financial District is Club Quarters, there is a good probability you might get it. Please use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links on this website whatever you decide to do.
  4. Hotwire has a 3.5* hotel in the Embarcadero are for $72/nite.....might be the Club Quarters. The 4* hotel going for $109 is most likely the Hyatt. Do you understand the concept of free rebidding on Priceline? The FAQs explain how you can get multiple bids per session, greatly increasing you chances of an accepted bid. Good luck.
  5. HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Hyatt Embarcadero for $123/nite for 2 rooms/4 adults, and Lastminutetravel.com has what appears to be the same property for $105/nite for the OPs dates. On Lastminutetravel.com, the Hyatt is listed as a 4.5* in the Union Square/Downtown area. I bring up the Lastminute travel deal because I believe it's cancellable for a $25 fee. Just throwing some options the OPs way. Good luck.
  6. I called Hotwire Express to discuss the location of the Mansion at Judges Hill relative to distance from downtown. The lady was quite nice and we discussed the map and the location of hotels in the downtown area. She then offered, that by being a PRICELINE EXPRESS client, she would allow me to select another offering anytime before my trip and they would refund the previous purchase. Haven't seen anything to make me change yet, but the option is there if I want to.
  7. Didn't ask about location, but will get a Queen Petite.
  8. Propably should have posted an ID request, but was hoping this might have been maybe the Four Sesons. Another hotel away from the downtown area, but hey, it looks nice. Amenities....Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free, Restaurant, High Speed Internet, Spa Services. Shuttle is complimentary from the airport via SuperShuttle, but costs on the way back to airport. Internet is complimentary. Use of offsite fitness center, about a mile away, is complimentary. Used HOTWIRE link on this site.
  9. It also pays to check Hotwire, where the 4* offering in the Embarcadero area appears to be the Hilton FD, going for $82. That coupled with the Hilton website could have directed you to a different zone or star level. Note to BEAV....Haven't seen you around for a while. Happy New Year to you and yours.
  10. Saw that Expedia had the French Quarter resort at WDW at a rate people were getting with a PIN code. Average rate per nite is $116. WDW website quoting $180/nite. Remembered to use Expedia link on this site. Thanks.
  11. Hotwire has a 4* in USE for $108/nite for your dates. Not sure which hotel it is, but still a 4*. Good luck.
  12. First off, apologies for not using Expedia link on this site. Will try to remember in the future. Wife wants to get away for her birthday on this weekend, so saw the Omni on Expedia for $106. Booked it for both nights. Omni website quoting $269/nite. Hoping it will be warmer there than it will be here that weekend.
  13. I'm aware that Hotwire has quit putting number of reviews when they include the Tripadvisor ratings, but just noticed they are including x% recommended of customer reviews. Just happened to check my March San Francisco trip and noticed a 95% recommended customer reviews which is close to what Tripaddvisor has.....93%. This may have been discussed previously, and I just missed it. It may just come and go, and this is the first time I have seen it.
  14. My mistake Whereyoubeen. Amenities are Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet. Price dropped to $115/nite this morning. Oh well.
  15. Booked the Omni for $119/nite. Hotel website quoting $169/nite. Kayak has rates at Easyclicktravel.com for $135...all others at $169/nite. Used HOTWIRE link on this site.
  16. For the total Disney experience, I wholly recommend staying on site at a Disney Resort. That being said, I suggest you head over to disboards.com and look at the appropriate topics for hotels off site. If you will be flying into MCO, make sure you figure ground transportation into your budget. I would also check the shuttle bus schedule from some of the offsite hotels and see how often they pickup and drop off at the parks. Good luck.
  17. Why not just book/stay at one of the Disney value resorts? You'll be running around visiting all the parks and probably just need a place to crash at night. The Pop Century is going for $82/nite and rooms come with two double beds. If you're flying, you can take advantage of Disneys Magical Express for free transportation to and from the resort and airport, as well as Disney transportation to and from the parks and Downtown Disney.
  18. The 4* on Hotwire in Embarcadero seems to be the Hyatt Embarcadero, so still a lot cheaper than your cancellable booking. The Hilton usually has a Spa amenity and the other 4*s, the Omni or Le Meridien are rated 4.5/5.0 stars. But of course try a round of bidding first and see what happens.
  19. Lastminute travel has what appears to be the Hyatt Embarcadero for $138/nite. Maybe some one could verify because it comes up in Downtown/Union Square area, but description matches Hyatt as does number of rooms.
  20. Started bidding Downtown at $70....countered to at $22. Added rebid zone and bid a buck at at time until accepted at $74. Used PRICELINE link on this site. Thanks.
  21. Is it just me, but Hotwire seems to be defaulting to Expedia for packages, and not displaying the amenities associated with the hotel. I'm trying a hotel/car combo and it would usually ask which airport to pick up a car, in this case the Bay area, but not now. Is this likely a temporary glitch or how it will be from now on?
  22. Lastminutetravel.com has a 3* hotel in the Union Square/Nob Hill area for $104/nite. From what I can tell it might be the Whitcomb, and the reviews on Tripadvisor seem quite good. Good luck.
  23. Checked rates for the Downtown area for this night and they seemed high across the board. Found the Hilton Bayfront on Lastminutetravel.com for $90/nite...$112 w/taxes and fees. Hilton website quoting $239 before taxes and fees.
  24. JMW... I like planning ahead. I probably could have done a little 4* bidding but I'm happy with the reviews for this property. Travelling more and spending less..
