  1. Rates as shown below: Hyatt 199 / 259 / 319 / 319 / 279 / 279 / 229 Grand total $ 1,833 Doubletree 179 per night / Grand total w/o tax $ 1,416 Regards Daniel
  2. Hi @ all :) I'm planning on a vacation in NYC this June, and I am wondering if it is too early to bid for my favorite hotel - the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. The journey should be from 6/10 - 6/17. And YES, I am conscious of that bidding at Priceline could lead to the Doubletree as well. When entering these dates into Priceline.com, selecting a 3* upscale hotel in Jersey City, the message "Based on recent data, your price has only a small chance of being accepted" disappears at $52. Does this have to say anything ? However, would you suggest to bid now or wait until a certain date ? Regards, Daniel
  3. Sorry for that, of course I have now finished that post. I am really happy about this board and the helpful comments. Thank you. Daniel
  4. Unfortunately, I was not successful with my bids as instructed by you. And as time was running out, I used my backup reservations and had a great time in NYC. Next time, I will start bidding earlier in order to get a good deal. My good London deal tells me to repeat this :) So long, Daniel
  5. Hi everyone, as I am going to stay one weekend in London, I tried to get a nice 4* hotel in the central London area. First, I tried $51 in the Mayfair-Soho area but failed (counteroffer $116 but rejected), then I added Bloomsbury-Marble Arch and increased my bid to $57. Et voila, I got the deal. I checked the regular rate for this night in this hotel and found GBP 104 (= approx. $183) to be the best rate. So I think this is a good deal (is it really?) Thanks to all board members for their comments. Very helpful ! So long, Daniel
  6. Hi there, Yes, I am willing to split my bid. Thanks for your assistance ! Kind regards, Daniel
  7. @ thereuare Thanks for the warm welcome ! Since I already have my backup reservation for the Hyatt, I would at least give it a try and bid in order to get a better deal. Maybe you'll need the following information: Number of nights: 4 Number of persons: 1 Period: 6/10-6/14 Best prices seen: HYATT 139,-- (3 nights), 279,-- (1 night), total 696,-- DOUBLETREE 139,-- (4 nights), total 556,-- What would you suggest ??? As I said before, I would prefer the HYATT rather than the DOUBLETREE. Thanks in advance Kind regards Daniel
  8. Hi everyone ! Can anybody give me bidding help for my forthcoming stay in Jersey City, NJ from 6/10 - 6/14 ? Since I have already stayed there, I would really appreciate going to the HYATT Regency Jersey City. Unfortunately, there seems to be another 3* upscale hotel in the Jersey City Area (DoubleTree ?), which leads to a 50-50 chance of winning the HYATT. What are the chances of getting the HYATT when bidding for the Jersey City area ? As far as I know, the HYATT came up only a few times within the last months. What would be a suitable bid for the above mentioned period ? Thank you ! Daniel
