  1. It would be appreciated if you concluded your previous Priceline Boston hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Best guess for this offer: 3* Culver City (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $138/nite with: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles Westside You can now easily identify most hotels by using the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW and PRICELINE EXPRESS tabs of our BiddingHelper.com tool: 1) search using BiddingHelper.com 2) click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW or PRICELINE EXPRESS 3) hover your mouse (or click) the FIND MATCH from HOTEL LIST button ==> hotel should appear immediately If a hotel is not found there should be an extra button to click in order to do further research (this extra button just takes a little longer to search so we prefer to give the 'quick answer' first when available... then have users do a second search which may take a little longer). As always, you can feel free to ask for help if a hotel is still not yet identified or if you'd like a second (human) opinion before moving forward with your purchase. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  2. For this one: 4* Playa Bonita (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $207/nite with: Free Parking Free Breakfast Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Dreams Playa Bonita Panama - All Inclusive would indeed be our best guess An extra service fee for this property is consistent with what Priceline shows when booking this hotel thru the retail side of their service: Dreams Playa Bonita Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  3. What do you mean by "aren't working out for me"... not sure if you're indicating you're not seeing AKL for the nite of 3/3, you're plans in the area aren't working out, the idea of having your son stay with your for 3/3 aren't working out, etc, etc... can you explain further? I can figure out almost all Priceline/Hotwire hotels, but i'm not an expert on the room configuration of of every property. If you could mention which hotels have standard rooms with a configuration that works for your needs, i could have a look for those properties. Given this is Orlando, which has a high percent of rooms designed for family use i suspect that a lot of hotels can meet this criteria, but i just don't know the ins/outs of this area well enough to know which ones qualify and which ones to exclude. There is no way to know... a different option could present itself, but likewise your top choice at the moment could disappear entirely. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  4. If it were either of the other two there would be other amenities listed. As well, although many of the features are new, the BiddingHelper.com is highly reliable. Is the Allure a property that works for your needs? If not, what is it that you are looking for and what is your maximum budget? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  5. Welcome to BetterBidding! What does the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab of our BiddingHelper.com tool say? 1) search using BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab 3) hover your mouse (or click if on a mobile device) the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' button 3.5* Intl. Drive - Pointe Orlando (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $76/nite with: Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Allure Resort Orlando near Univeral Does this work for your plans? If not, let us know what you are looking for in a hotel for this trip, as well as your maximum budget, and we will try to be of further help. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. 6. Never fault anyone for trying to help... even if it didn't help in the long run. I'm sure you'll come into some good fortune in the future and it will all 'even out'.
  7. Please be sure to let us know how many adults/children you're including in your search as this makes it easier for us to find the same hotel by price as well as ensures that we are researching the same property. 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $370 Free internet Airport shuttle Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Golf nearby Tennis nearby ==> this does match previous reports for the Beach Club, but you can't necessarily exclude the (not yet reported to the board) Yacht Club as a possibility I did look further into the double/quad occupancy above... HOTWIRE used to define 'children' as age 2-17... they have recently changed this on the 'Hot Rate Hotel' side to indicate ages 2-11. When searching for a regular rate hotel you can still input the number of children and their ages. On the Hot Rate Hotel (opaque) side of things you can now only select the number of children, not their ages. ==> i'm not sure if Hotwire (opaque) is treating any children as adults because that is the way it is coded for all hotels OR if any children would still be counted as children for hotels where they treat any guest 17 years or younger as a child More specifically to your dilemma... Your in a 'grey area'. I know in the past users were able to book Disney properties for double occupancy and then call the hotel to add the children name(s) to the reservation. The other issue (how big/small this is depends upon your outlook at the age of your children) is what if the room only has a King bed... although this may be less of an issue in Orlando since the hotels here are used to accommodating families and therefore have a higher percentage of rooms with 2 beds in them and/or enough space for a rollaway assuming there is no pullout sofabed (vs. if you were staying in NYC or Chicago where hotels have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and little/no room for a rollaway). Given the price difference i would be more inclined to only include the 2adults in my search and then call the hotel to add the child(ren), as well as sign-up for FastPass and any other perks. If there is an issue adding the children then i would offer to pay to add them to the reservation (since you would have paid Hotwire anyway). Since you are also considering splitting this stay into two reservations, you could make a first reservation for just one nite (or the first few nites), see how it goes after you call the hotel to add the chidlren, and then use that as a baseline to decide if you book with the remaining nites as just 2adults or if you include the children on the original reservation. NOTE if you do go the split reservation route (and are hoping to get the same hotel for all nites) before any purchases you should first check for each set of dates you intend on booking to make sure the same hotel appears for both searches. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed, or how it goes should you move forward, and we'll take it from there.
  8. Vegas is the most difficult market to predict as it has more prices changes (and more extreme price changes) than any other market in the US. However, with this noted a few comments: Really apples vs. oranges based upon the Valentine's Day Holiday. A similar example would be in NYC rates are generally low from mid-Dec thru February... but look for a room in Times Square on Dec 31st and it will be one of the most expensive nites of the year, no matter how cheap rates are for the same day a week earlier (12/24 or 1/7). There is a third component that you didn't mention and it is the one that is often most overlooked by travelers of the mindset 'Rates will drop very close to arrival since hotels would rather get some revenue rather than no revenue if the room sits empty'. This third component is 'How much demand can we drive if we lower the price at the last minute' and the answer is very little. If hotels are priced at $200 and the day before arrival the hotel lowers the price to $100... there are not many people, who were not already planning on visiting the area, would suddenly pick up and take a trip on less than 24 hours notice? Even if they could potentially fill 50% more rooms by cutting the price in half, it actually produces less revenue for the hotel vs. if they kept prices at the higher amount. In case that is confusing, take the following example: 100 people plan on traveling but don't yet have hotel rooms: 100 guests x $200/nite = $20,000 100 people above + 50 additional people (50% increase in demand based upon lower price): 150 guests x $100/nite = $15,000 This also does not account for the fact that the hotel expected a certain level of occupancy and staffed their front desk, housekeeping, and restaurants accordingly... if there is a sudden surge in occupancy all of these areas of the hotel will be understaffed; leads to poor service, unhappy employees, and bad customer experience. So with the reminder of my first comment that rates in Vegas change more frequently than any other market (and are therefore more difficult to predict), my inclination would be that low/mid-$100's is not likely going to happen for the 12/14 or 12/15. My gameplan would be one of the three options below: OPTION 1: Venetian at $223 (2/14-2/16) + Wynn at $146 (2/16) or OPTION 2: 1 Nite Outside of Vegas + 1 Nite wherever you can find 2/15 + 1 nite Wynn (2/16) (OPTION 2 i think can wait, unless you wanted to lock in the nite at the Wynn, but my point is to understand that 3 hotels in 3 nites is going to be the most likely scenario) or OPTION 3: Trump, which is slightly off strip, can be had for about $195/nite from 2/15-2/17 Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Keep us updated on your progress.
  9. Glad to hear you like all of the recent updates! With Valentine's Day landing on a Friday this year i think it may be difficult to make comparisons to previous years since this year will likely have more people making it a weekend away vs. just a one nite mid-week trip (or not even making a trip out of the 'holiday' at all). Even though this year will likely have more travelers and more travelers for the entire weekend, you may want to consider looking at 2/15-2/17 as you will still have some who will only stay for the nite of Valentine's Day or if your plans allow look at the nite of 2/16 separately as that nite on its own will almost certainly be less than the previous two (as people who came in for the weekend return home). For just the nite of 2/16 i'm seeing Aria for $125/nite and/or Wynn for $146/nite which would be pretty good prices for each of those properties, imo. Is splitting the stay between two hotels an option? What would be your target budget for the more expensive (2/14-2/16) nites and/or for the entire trip? (per nite before taxes/fees) Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. EDIT TO ADD: You didn't really mention your budget, but i am seeing: 2/14-2/16 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $223/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Business Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Venetian ... which you could then pair with the solo nite of 2/16 at Aria ($125) or Wynn ($146) Your thoughts?
  10. Thank you for closing this thread with your decision. Glad to see you got 'hooked up' with a deal.
  11. Children are not necessarily free... it's usually up to each hotel to set their own policy, but even if a hotel has a 'kids free' policy you could see the rate go up if booking for more than double occupancy as it may put you into a different room type. For a general example, suppose a hotel that has no pullout couches where: 1 King Bed = $200/nite 2 Queen Beds = $225/nite ==> searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/0children the $200 room is in play since it can accommodate the number of your guests you're searching for... but add 2 children and that room type is no longer an option since it won't accommodate 4 guests, and therefore the rate would increase since now the 2 Queen room is the least expensive option based upon your search parameters Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  12. There is always a chance it's something other than what we think, but with nearly 20 years of experience in helping users with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, i'd be very surprised if it was something different based upon the other user's purchase the other day of the Animal Kingdom. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  13. For the nite of 3/5 i'm seeing what looks to be the Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Village for $378/nite For the nite of 3/4 i'm seeing what looks to be the Animal Kingdom Lodge for $285/nite. If searching for both nites (3/4-3/6) the Villas are offered for $398/nite which i'm assuming is more than you'd like to spend, but mention so that you can make an informed decision. Did you want to move forward with either of the above (if so we'll provide the details of which offer) and then we can get started on 'filling-in' the other nites around it? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
  14. The 'retail' price shown is not necessarily the rate of this specific hotel but for an average of hotel(s) of this star rating in the zone for your dates... it could be all the 4 star hotels in the area, it could be a handful of them, it could just the hotel offered, or it could be just one hotel that is not the one being offered. Search using BiddingHelper.com and in the EASY VIEW tab filter the results to just 4 star hotels and the Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek zone. Hover your mouse over the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' button and you'll see the following 4 star hotels in the area and prices for your dates: Disney Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidania Village - $902/nite Disney Polynesian Resort - $941/nite ==> these two hotels could be the only two hotels used for the average (which would make the average rates in the $900's) or it could include any number of other properties. Regardless, i would not put much faith or pay much attention to this crossed out rate since, as per the above, you can see it's not very meaningful As per this Disney summer thread from yesterday, this offer: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $411 Free internet Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf nearby Children's activities ==> matches Disney's Animal Kingdom Based upon yesterday's post (linked above) i have more confidence that this is likely Animal Kingdom Lodge Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  15. We do see it from time-to-time, but odds favor it appearing when 'regular' prices are lower rather than higher (since higher prices indicate higher demand and they are less likely to offer deep discounts thru the opaque hotel channels when demand is high and they are likely able to sell most rooms on their own at regular price). With the above noted, things to come and go in cycles... there were long periods where we would never see Animal Kingdom received thru HOTWIRE, but it has been appearing more often recently. The same could be said for most Disney properties. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know how we can be of further help along the way.
  16. Congratulations on your success and glad to see this was the hotel you were hoping for on this leg of your trip. (apologize for the delay, was a little tied up with other things today) For the future, note that the 'original price' is not necessarily the price of the underlying hotel for your dates, but rather an average price of hotel(s) of this star rating in the zone for your dates. We have updated the Orlando Hotwire Hotel List with the new amenity set for this property. Does this replace your July 23-25 trip or will you still be in the area for these dates as well? Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Have a great stay at this on-site property.
  17. Welcome toBetterBidding! (and sorry for the delayed reply, was a bit tied up today) 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $408 Free internet Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf nearby Children's activities No guarantees, but this amenity set matches the same amenities HERE where the user received the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  18. Understood, but since it's possible that rates only move higher from here, we recommend booking a Refundable Reservation ... nothing to lose, and you'll be thankful you did if prices jump from here.
  19. Congratulations on your success! Glad to hear you received a nice deal at the hotel you were hoping for and that the new features of the BiddingHelper.com EASY VIEW tab continue to benefit our users! (please help spread the word about these new features 🙂 ) Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  20. I'm not currently seeing any inventory for this property at PRICELINE when searching for your dates... Hotwire has it at $424/nite. You could consider booking at this price (as it's fully refundable, but always double check the conditions during the booking process) at least this way it locks you in at this price, you can always re-book at a lower rate should it become available (or PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE come up with 'opaque' inventory), or you can cancel and book something entirely different. Another option would be to consider the Animal Kingdom Lodge for $339/nite. Same options/flexibility as above since it's fully refundable but nearly $100/nite cheaper. Would either of these of interest while you 'wait it out' and/or should the Wilderness Lodge not appear within your budget? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. 21. Thanks for the follow-up. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your results/decisions as you receive them so that the information can best help others in a timely manner. 23. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for, and even better we're happy to hear you like the new RevealHotels tool! Please help spread the word about the new site! Thank you for using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping us update the Miami Hotwire Hotel List with the new amenity set for this hotel. Have a great trip... and Happy Valentine's Day!
  24. Welcome to BetterBidding! For this offer: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $337 Free internet Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf nearby Children's activities ==> unfortunately i'm not certain, my guess is that it is Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Village, or the Boardwalk Inn... with the odds favoring Animal Kingdom, but as i mention, i'm far from certain Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
