And with a big conference in town driving up hotel prices, this seems to be a good deal, right near the central train station. As always, I used the BiddingHelper.com tool and links from within betterbidding.com.

Used the Bidding.Helper to research and again got the Palomar (had a really nice stay there earlier this year, as well). This time I am driving and not really excited about the $40 valet fee. Anyone know of a better parking option in the area? Thanks and Happy New Year! :D

May be a new listing for this zone as I had only seen two 3.5* hotels on the Marina zone list (Wyndham and Embasssy). A little disappointed to be so far from the water (for a "marina" zone) compared to the others--kind of in the "panhandle" of the zone :P . Still, looks like a nice hotel. Just wanted to follow-up on this to say that we really enjoyed the stay in a nice suite. Not real big but quite comfortable and great location down walking distance to the cruise terminal.

Lots of rebidding options in San Diego if you are going for a 4.5* or greater hotel (although not a lot of hotels in that list). Hotwire had $145 and Priceline Express had $146 for this area; got it down to $138 via rebidding @ $2 intervals. Best direct price I found was $194.25, so I'm pretty happy with this deal. As always, did my research here on BetterBidding.com and used the links at the top of the page to start my searches. Cheers!

Pretty happy with the result as one of the main objects of our trip is to see Phantom again before it closes!

Started at $80 and went up by $5 dollars by adding other areas without 4*. Finally got accepted @$95. Oops, header cut off my dates...9/2/11-9/3/11.

Fullsize rental @ MCI in Kansas City. Bid $15 with a $3 Priceline bonus cash add-on for a total bid of $18/day. Got Hertz. Best daily rate I found on other websites was ~$25. With $54.37 of taxes and fees, the total was $99.37. If you have an account on PRICELINE.com, check your "my rewards" section (under "my profile") for possible bonus cash offers...

Using the site's PRICELINE links, of course, I bid $70 for 4 * Seattle Downtown - Pike Place for 5/1, 1 night and was declined. I then added the Seattle Airport area (since it does not have any 4 star listings) and bid again for $80. Voila, Renaissance Seattle Hotel! Thanks for the tips and all the posts on this board!
