  1. And I should have checked out the Hotel Lists as Romelle suggested (nothing in Calendar of Wins). For 4.5* the Fairmont lists "resort" in its amenities but Mauna Lani never does.
  2. Sorry, it's been awhile. Not looking at a backup since my "boss" has her heart set on the Fairmont. Still looks like the Mauna Lani. But thanks for those other sister websites. They're great.
  3. Yes, I'm hoping to get the Fairmont. I have it booked on a cancellable rate right now so just trying to see if I can get it at a better rate. As for amenities just a really nice hotel on the beach. I'll keep monitoring it but as it's March/April the availability of anything is slowly disappearing.
  4. I realize there are no guarantees Romelle, that's why I use this site and the experiences of it's users - to get a best guess. There are three properties that have almost the same amenities but one is customer rated at 100%, one at 95% and one at 90%. Just trying to figure out which is which. And Bigislander, thanks for your input. I haven't booked yet, still looking. The prices are all over the map so I'm going to wait and see what happens.
  5. Sorry I forgot to close that thread. Done now. Decided not to book that trip.
  6. Ended up not booking a trip with either Hotwire or Priceline.
  7. Looking at a 4.5* hotel in Waikoloa - Kohala Coast. $190 per night. Amenities: Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby. Gets 4.5/5 for location and 95% rating. It says the last booked got the Fairmont Orchid, but I've been watching for awhile and also gives Mauna Lani. A similar posting comes up that is 90% rating. Is one Fairmont and the other Mauna Lani?
  8. Need help identifying the following Disney area hotels for April 24-28: 1. 3.5* Disney South, $106 - Pet Friendly, No Smoking, Fitness Centre, Pool, Hi Speed (low at 75%) 2. 3.5* Disney North, $123 - Boutique hotel, Fitness Centre, Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre, Laundry, Hi Speed, Accessible for deaf, Accessible Path of Travel (really low at 60%) Thanks.
  9. Used the BB HOTWIRE link to find a 3.5* in Downtown Edmonton Feb 16, 2 rooms for one night at $76 each. All tax in worked out to $180.64 ($90.32 ea). Amenities were Indoor Pool, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Centre, Hi-Speed, Accessible path, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom and Handicapped Parking. Because of the pool knew it would be the Sutton Place or the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald (don't know why the Mac is a 3.5* because it's easily a 4 or 4.5) and turned out to be the Sutton Place. Great price for this hotel.
  10. Closing this post as I've booked using Hotwire - details on a new post just for that booking.
  11. I've been having a lot of issues trying to book something for this time due to a big conference downtown starting on the 23rd. Have tried numerous times to bid on Priceline to no avail. The price was down to $114 per night about 2 weeks ago, but I thought it might go lower so waited. It then jumped to $192 per night and this past week no 4*s have appeared at all. Today I saw it at $120 on Hotwire (using the BetterBidding link) so tried bidding on Priceline. Started at $94 and by adding different areas went up to $116 but no success so booked using Hotwire (again using BetterBidding link - they said only 1 room left). Total price including tax is $566.28. Quite pleased with the price and this hotel especially knowing how busy it is at that time. Best price on other travel sites is $197/nt. Oh, and the amenities are Smoke Free/Fitness/Pool/Restaurant/Bus Center/Hi Speed/Blind Accessible/Accessible Path of Travel/In-room Accessibility/Wheelchair Accessible/Accessible Bathroom/Handicapped Parking/Roll-in Shower. Recommended by 90%.
  12. I've been trying to book a hotel 07/21-07/25 downtown as well and prices are up. Found out there is a huge national convention there 20-25 so many of the cars may already be booked thus the higher price.
  13. Unfortunately the first property's price came way down and has now disappeared. Only the second property shows for 21-23, 23-25 or 21-25. I'll keep working on it. Also, wondering where the Hotwire "Recommended by" percentage comes from? Looked at Downtown Denver 4 stars with pool and 5 come up on Expedia - Warwick and Westin are recommended by 90%, the two Hyatts by 94% and the Sheraton by 82%. Could that previous 95% have been a Hyatt?
  14. Thought I did use your HOTWIRE link, but might have forgotten. Tried it again and everything is till the same.
  15. Hotel amenities are Indoor Pool/SmokeFree/Fitness Center/Pool (for the second time?)/Restaurant/Bus Center/Hi Speed/Deaf Accessible/Accessible Bathroom/Roll-in Shower. Recommended by 95%. Also for 07/23/12-07/25/12 (if we split it to 2days/2days since 23-25 is way more expensive) amenities are Smoke Free/Fitness/Pool/Restaurant/Bus Center/Hi Speed/Blind Accessible/Accessible Path of Travel/In-room Accessibility/Wheelchair Accessible/Accessible Bathroom/Handicapped Parking/Roll-in Shower. Recommended by 90%. Thanks.
  16. Would there be any difference in review percentage between Westin and Sheraton? That might help differentiate between the two.
  17. There is a HUGE underground parkade just north of the Westin underneath the main Public Library. It is connected by an underground pedway to the Westin. I'm surprised the front desk didn't tell you. Much closer than Scotia Place and similar price. Much cheaper than the Westin's own parkade and the distance to the lobby is short. The pedway takes you into the Westin's lower floor so you can take an escalator or elevator up to the lobby.
  18. I didn't realize that. Thanks, I'll bes sure to use your links next time I search or book.
  19. After over a dozen attempts bidding on Priceline up to near the Hotwire rates and recently seeing the Hotwire rates jump dramatically I decided to book through Expedia for slightly more than the HW rate while being guaranteed the bed configuration we wanted. A bit disappointed as this was one of the few times in the last few years that HW and PL haven`t worked in our favour. Next time. And thanks for all your help even though we weren`t successful.
  20. Any idea which one? There are 2 very close to each other - Best Western Plus Travel Hotel Toronto Airport (Expedia rate 4.4) and Best Western Plus Toronto Airort Hotel (Expedia rate 3.9)? Disregard the question, there is no pool at the "Travel" hotel.
  21. I'm now looking at same night (Jan 09) but changed to 2 rooms (4 adults, 2 kids) and have found a 3* YYZ West hotel. Do you want me to start a new thread to help ID it or use this one? Amenities are shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, hi-speed, but it's recommended by only 70%. I didn't realize that prices change based on your guest numbers/category. This is getting even more interesting.
  22. Sorry I've left this blank - I was told I should keep it updated as to progress, so... I've been watching Hotwire hoping the rates might go down as we get closer and have also been bidding on Priceline, but so far I haven't been successful. I'll keep bidding and watching the prices, and post when I finally purchase something. It's only a one-night layover so if I can't get a good price for 4* or 3.5* I'll just book a 3* through Hotwire because I want to guarantee it has an airport shuttle.
  23. The date of our stay is Jan 9-10. I was looking for a wider date range for the wins just to see what general rates were at that time (I know, I know, they can change daily based on availability, etc. but just wanted an idea). I have been watching Hotwire and bidding on Priceline, but to date everything remains quite high. When I do get a property I'll close off my post. And yes, I always use the Better Bidding links when going to either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE.
  24. Sorry it was a long day and I misread your question - thought you were asking my travel dates. Anyway, there are Toronto wins in the calendar now, just not for my travel dates. It seems to be really high at YYZ at this time of year. I've been bidding almost as high as Hotwire prices so may go that route since I'll be fairly secure in knowing what property I'm getting.
  25. Don't know about Atraveller, but I'm looking January 6-17.
