  1. Not sure if this should be on a separate thread, but...also looking at this one: 8/30-31 Myrtle Beach north area 2.5* / 95% recommended / $62 Amentities: Free Internet Free parking beachfront hotel condo indoor pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Fitness center Pool(s)
  2. I was mostly wondering if I could work the system and get both nights at the lower Sunday rate. We are definitely staying both nights, just need to find a deal. Budget is roughly 150-200 all in for both nights (inc. tax/fees). We have family staying at the Castaway Beach Inn (North Myrtle) but, being the Priceline/Hotwire hotel snobs we are :) we don't want to pay $175 for 2 nights at a 1* motel. All that to say...part of my strategy is to get something closeby to them. Better deals in South MB, but we don't want to have a 30 minute drive between us.
  3. What are the chances of booking a Hot.wire Hot Rate hotel, and being able to add an extra night? Staying at the beach Sat and Sun nights, and Saturday is far more expensive.
  4. Looking at a $64, 3* hotel in North Myrtle Beach and Little River zone. 85% recommended, and it says the last person got the Ocean Creek resort. FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby Thanks ahead of time for the help. Also curious if Hot.wire, like Price.line, ever offers to add additional nights for the same price.
  5. After many bids in several different areas, I wound up with the Drury Inn. Must be a busy weekend. Note to moderators: the zones in Greenville-Spartanburg have changed. This win was in the "Greenville - Woodruff Road" zone.
  6. This is a short getaway vacation, and given the cool weather we wanted to be sure we had an indoor or heated pool to enjoy, so I stuck to the 4* hotels in Galleria and the Airport zones. I'm an absolute deal junkie and have been working on bidding this for a few weeks. On eBay I found someone selling a membership card from the Entertainment books for like $2.50 (just the card), so I used that to register and get $20 bonus cash from Entertainment.com. Bid per night: $42 Bonus cash per night: $6.67 Total bid: $48.67 Taxes & fees: $32.16 Total--------$158.16 48 Based on the cheapest room available for this hotel ($307.05 total), I saved 48.5%!
  7. We didn't book this trip - had some things going on that weekend so decided to change dates and location.
  8. Looking at dates 5/16-5/19, in the Hartsfield Intl Airport zone. Price is $36 per night. My best guess is the Sheraton Gateway, or possibly Embassy Suites? Amentities: Pet Friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service), Golf, Tennis.
  9. Thanks for posting - I was looking at these exact dates and figured this was probably the Hilton.
  10. Need help with the ID of a 3* and 3.5* in Gatlinburg East - Pittman Center area. Looking at 5/9/13-5/12/13, 2 adults. I'm thinking the 3* is probably Deer Ridge Mountain resort, but not sure about the 3.5*. My best guess for the 3.5* is Bent Creek Golf Village. Here are the amenities: 3* - $95.00 - Condo - Gatlinburg East - Pittman Center Resort Free Parking Free Internet 1 Bedroom Suite Fully-Equipped Kitchen Air Conditioning Pool(s) Business Center Front Desk Laundry Facilities (self-service) High Speed Internet Access Gold Nearby Tennis Nearby Condo 3.5* - $63.00 - Condo - Gatlinburg East - Pitmman Center Suite Free Parking 1 Bedroom Suite Fully equipped kitchen Indoor Pool(s) Air Conditioning Washer and Dryer in Room Fitness Center Pool(s) Front Desk Laundry Services (self service) Kitchenette Condo
  11. (used the PRICELINE link) Started bidding in the Airport area, worked my way down to 2.5* and bid up to $45. Restarted my bid at Bloomington West, starting at 4*. Eventually got upgraded to the 3.5* Doubletree By Hilton Hotel Minneapolis-Bloomington South... I did some googling and this looks like it used to be the Sheraton property. Address is 7800 Normandale Road, Bloomington, MN 55439. Bid: $44 per night Total after taxes, fees: $107.40
  12. Question - I have been to the waterpark at this hotel before and enjoyed it. Do you know if waterpark passes are included with the room? If so, I might try to bid this on PRICELINE.
  13. I've been bidding a lot in most DC areas... tried stay above 3 star since there are some questionable 3* hotels in the downtown area. Used the PRICELINE link and bid 3.5* in Arlington for $65 a night. Got the Sheraton National. Total = $156.40
  14. I too am coming to DC to tour with my wife, on 4/1-4/3. Our city is new to Southwest so we got 2 tickets for $150 total... Anyways, I'm trying to decide what area to bid. Since it is the weekend, we will probably bid on a rental car to avoid the train/bus hassle. Can anyone make a good recommendation on where to bid that wouldn't have high parking fees?
  15. Just got a great deal in the Greenville bidding area -- looks like it hasn't been reported yet in the Priceline forums. 3* Crowne Plaza 12/17 to 12/19 Bid: $30.00 per night Bonus cash: $10.00 per night Taxes & fees: $16.62 Total: $76.62
  16. Used the PRICELINE links and started at $59 for downtown, then worked my way up to $89 by adding more areas that had no 4* hotels. They asked me to raise by $20 to $109, so of course I tried going to $99 and was rejected... (at which point they oddly asked me to go up to $124 instead of $109). I finally raised to $109 and got the Hilton Center City downtown. Nights: 2 Bid: 109.00 Taxes/fees: 45.10 TOTAL: 263.10
  17. Sorry, this is supposed to be in the Priceline forums. And I did use the links.
  18. Started out at $60 for a 4* at Hilton Head. Was asked to raise to $75, so I did and got the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. Offer: $75.00 Subtotal: $75.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.87 Total Charges: $91.87
  19. I've been working on this one for a while. Tried to get the 4* Hyatt and went all the way up to $125 and was not accepted. Added 3.5* and went up to $90. Dropped to 3*, and finally won at $85 (and I used the PRICELINE link :) Got the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Clearwater Beach. Added insurance for $5 a night just to be safe. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $85.00 Travel Insurance: $30.00 Subtotal: $540.00 Taxes & Fees: $78.12 Total Charges*: $618.12
  20. eaglssong -- sorry to inform you, but you won't get a refund on this. Priceline offers are non-refundable. The only time I got a refund was for an airline ticket, because of a death in the family. Don't shy away from Priceline -- I am a Priceline addict and it's a wonderful way to get a nice vacation at a cheap rate. You didn't get the greatest deal this time because it was your first time and you didn't know all the inside tricks -- plus that's an expensive area anyways. Just do TONS of research -- peruse this website and learn how it's done. There's all kinds of tricks and strategies that you can use to get the best deal on the best hotel.... anyways, I hope your vacation goes well.
  21. Date of stay: June 12-13 Bid: $35 Total: $47.01 Started bidding in Glen Allen at the 4* star level at $38, worked down to 3*. Then added Richmond South and bid $35. Got the Holiday Inn Richmond South-Bells Road... and used the betterbidding PRICELINE links.
  22. For those that have won the Westin in the South zone, could you tell me how the hotel is? I've read some really bad reviews on tripadvisor and pics of junky showers with hairballs... I'm on a super tight honeymoon budget, so I might try offering for a resort in Cancun... all the resorts I've seen look great except the Westin.
  23. Ended up going for PRICELINE.... bid on 2.5* in Louisville East area and got the Breckinridge Inn. Bid $40 Total: $53.28
  24. Staying tonight (5/17) for one night. Price is $36 on hotwire for a 2.5* in the Louisville East/Jeffersontown Area. Has these amentities: - Complimentary breakfast - Fitness Center - Swimming Pool - Laundry facilities Recommended in 90% of customer reviews. Thanks!
