  1. amenities: restaurant(s), pool(s), fitness center, business center
  2. I finally gave up after my $170 bid was rejected for 4* in San Jose (all zones except Cupertino and San Jose). I ended up getting the following through Hotwire (admin please move this topic to the Hotwire forum, if appropriate): Hotel Name: Hilton Newark / Fremont (3*) Zone: Newark - Fremont Price: $51 / night ($174.60 total) Date: 05/15/2006 ~ 05/18/2006
  3. I just checked Hotwire (never used it before), and it's returning $172 for a 4* in Santa Clara, which basically translates to Hilton of Santa Clara since that's the only 4* in the area AFAIK. I would prefer to wait a little longer before paying that much. Update: I just tried $125 for all zones except San Jose and Cupertino, but still without luck. I think I'll start researching for 3* as a fallback.
  4. This is the second part of my previous topic (4* San Jose (Sunnyvale-Santa Clara) Hilton Santa Clara). I'm trying to get another 4* in the San Jose area, and am not yet willing to drop to a 3*. Check-In: Mon, May 15, 2006 Check-Out: Thu, May 18, 2006 I tried almost all zones in the region (all except Redwood City and Palo Alto -- they're too far west for my needs, esp in the morning traffic) at up to $100, but so far without luck. Update: I just tried $125 for the Santa Clara zone, but still no luck.
  5. I decided to split the bid, and this is what I got so far: Hilton Santa Clara (4*) San Jose (Sunnyvale - Santa Clara) Check-In: Sat, May 13, 2006 Check-Out: Mon, May 15, 2006 Your Offer Price: $50.00 (got this on first bid) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $19.84 Total Charges: $119.84 Still need to find a place for May 15 ~ 18. Have tried up to $80 with all zones included to no avail.
  6. Done. I would really like to pay less than $350 total for the stay, but am willing to spend up to $500. Backup plan would be to fall back onto a 3*, but I would really like to avoid that. I'll give the bid splitting post a read and see what I can do. I will also check out Hotwire (for the first time!). In the mean time, any other suggestion is greatly appreciated :)
  7. I eventually cancelled the trip due to conflict. None of my bids went through.
  8. I've been trying for the past three weeks to get a 4* hotel in the Sunnyvale / Santa Clara zone in the San Jose region. I've gone crazy to the point where I included all the zones in a $100/night bid, but still received nothing. I saw a few wins for this type of bid for April and the beginning of May at $50 ~ $65, and have verified on the Hyatt and Hilton (the only two 4* in the zone) websites that there is no significant price difference between the dates I want and the very beginning of May. Any idea?
  9. Bidded up to $50/night, but no luck. Any suggestion? :) It seems that NY area is very popular around that weekend. Anyone knows why? :)
  10. Also gave Jersey City a couple shots (thread under Jersey City)
