Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness. Saved me $75 compared to BW-website.
I always use the BB HOTWIRE link!
I'm happy with the result since saved nearly two thirds of regular rate.
Amenities were: Suite, Restaurant, Business, Internet, Fitness
Did they offer any sort of refund as a result of an amenity not being available/offered?
Yes, HW offered some "Hotdollars" as compensation.
If a suite was not offered, I would contact HOTWIRE to let them know.
I contacted HW immediately, they apologized that VB-hotel did not provide a suite although mentioned as amenities. VB-hotel-manager told us that "all HW-PL-and Expedia clients won't get a suite", unless paying the surcharge. I think one can't compare HW with PL or Expedia since all these angencies got different rules.
Warning to all bidders who got this hotel through HOTWIRE! You do not get a suite at check in allthough mentioned as amenities. Pls.read my TA-review from 12/20/09. A suite will be only available at a $30-50 daily surcharge.
Started bidding at $ 70, got counteroffer for $ 98, rejected and increased in $ 5-steps. Accepted at $ 85 / night. That's almost half the regular price. I'm particularly happy `cause the max-capacity there is 4 persons/room, handy for a couple with two kids. This family-friendly room-policy isn't often seen in European hotels.
My best guess would be that this one is the Hesperia Madrid which is just up from the Intercontinental.
Hi MadFlyer ! The Hesperia Madrid hasn't got a spa hence this option can be ruled out.
Today my $76-bids were rejected for 4* Madrid in zones Old Madrid+Chamberi-Chamartin-Salamanca for travel from 01/16/10 to 01/20/10. Got a counteroffer for $116 which I found much to high to accept. Any strategic advice for further bidding?
Thanks, thereuare, for your ultrafast response! Haven't made up my mind yet for this stay but I'll keep you updated!
Travel dates are 01/16/10-01/20/10.
Amenities of this 4.5* property are: Restaurant, Business, Internet, Spa, Fitnes. Used to match the 5* Intercontinental Madrid in previous wins.
Possible downgrade or new property?
Was announced as airport hotel with restaurant, internet, business and laundry with 2.9 miles to airport. $ 79/night, total $92.42. Hotel's distance to airport is more than 4 miles and difficult to reach with three changes of metro-lines. Hotel website: Adv. purchase $87.8 !
Complained with HOTWIREW because of distance, no success. Not the first time I paid higher rates with hotwire than hotel's own website! :) :) Bad luck.
Got the Courtyard on my first bid. Maybe should have started a bit lower.
Yes, I used the BB PRICELINE link, as always!
Tried to extend my stay to 8/12 but was rejected.
Yes, we're planning for the busy easter weekend: 4/3-4/5/10 and I want to stay below 80$/night.
I gave up my plan. Thanks for support!
I noticed the new 3.5*-option when ticking Palm Springs. Any ideas about new hotels or upgrade/downgrade in this area? No 3,5* property in Palm Springs appears on Priceline list yet.
Planned stay from 10/30 to 11/04/09. thanks!
Hi there!
When selecting Somerset-Brunswick,NJ and ticking East Brunswick-Edison the 4-Star Deluxe opportunity appears. Any ideas about 4* options in this area? Hasn't been reported to the forum yet. Contributions highly appreciated!

I was targeting the Marriott-Amherst, started with $ 48 and increased to $ 60 without luck or counter-offer. Maybe better wait for a last-minute-deal ?
