  2. Thank you for your quick reply. I will be staying from 10/11/10 and checking out on 10/14/10. I appreciate your information about the risks and opportunities while bidding and I'll have to decide on how to adjust my bidding strategy. I'll post my win, once I get it.
  3. I'm hoping to get a reservation at the Glendale Hilton. Since this is the only 4* in multiple zones, I have several opportunities as thereuare discusses above. After reading successful bid posts, I see that there have been several successful bids for $65 for this property. On 10/4/10 I bid for a stay next week. My first bid was $60 and rejected, I added a zone and bid $65 and was rejected, I added a zone and bid $68 and was rejected, I added a zone and bid $69 and was rejected. I know that you will smile at my bargain hunting when you see that I could have continued to bid but stopped for not wanting to add another few dollars more. :) I know that if I continue to bid higher, I will get this property so that is not my question. Does the "Accepted Price" using "Name Your Own Price" change on a regular basis on Priceline. If I wait 24 hours and then bid the same amounts as above over multiple days, is there a chance that one of these bids will be accepted over the next week?
  4. Is there any way to tell exactly when the 24 hour waiting period is over? I placed some bids last night and it was late and I don't remember the exact time. I am assuming that the 24 hour clock starts at the time that the last bid that was not accepted was submitted. I did get an email from Priceline that said at the top: "As you recently reviewed on priceline.com, your offer for a hotel in Los Angeles - San Fernando Valley, was unsuccessful. Listed below is information pertaining to your offer and tips for successful bidding. Please review these tips and try your offer again." Below that my bid history is shown as well as "Tips for Successful Bidding." This email was sent to me at 11:14 PM. Can I assume that the 24 hour clock starts at that time and that I can rebid at 11:15 PM the next day? I think that Priceline should place the 24 hour rebid time limit in the bid history email. Today, I sent the following message to Priceline customer service: Thank you for sending my bid history to me by email for my Name Your Own Price bid that wasn't accepted. Please consider adding a rebid time to that message. It is not clear to me as to the exact time that I submitted my bid yesterday so I don

  6. 4* San Diego Coastal Hyatt Regency La Jolla I created 1 Priceline bid: I bid $91 for 4* San Diego Coastal and got the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, which is what I wanted. After reviewing a previous post I was hoping that I could get a winning bid on the first try and I got it since I didn't have time to do multiple bids. 7. I stayed here between October 13-16, 2008. Sorry that I'm just now getting around to posting my review. On October 10, 2008, I got an accepted bid of $96.00 for 3.5* for San Diego Coastal. I was attending a convention in downtown San Diego. The reason that I am back on Better Bidding now is that I was just going to post my accepted bid made today for 4* San Diego Coastal. (Details on the correct forum.) The reason that I brought this up is that my bid was $91.00 today for 4* SD Coastal and I got the Hyatt Regency La Jolla and I wanted to make a comparison. Paradise Point is a "Resort and Spa" and I was on a business trip. In October 2008, I was hoping for a business style hotel. Paradise Point reminds me of a tropical island resort. For business trips, I prefer the modern high rise hotels. Paradise Point is divided into many 2 or 3 unit buildings and each unit is a hotel room. The complex appears to have been constructed in the 1950s or 1960s and on the outside, many of the units look old. It appears that a lot of work has been put in by the management to upgrade the rooms and the grounds. There are multiple beautiful swimming pools with recliners and lots of clean towels. I would say this place would be best for couples or families trying to find that laid back tropical feel, possibly like a place one would find on the Mexican coast. Driving around the complex you can see some beautiful areas of this resort and some areas that look a little worn. Here is my personal experience as to what it was like here. When I first arrived they put me in a unit that was over to one side and it didn't appear that there was anyone staying in the area. All the parking spaces were empty. Of course, October must have been the "off season" for a resort. My room looked nice but a little worn. It was fairly large and the bath was pretty nice. The problem was that the person in adjoining unit had the TV up loud and I could hear every word. I knew that I had to get a different room. Customer service moved me to a different room across the complex and the room was much nicer. It seemed, though, to have the slightest odor of marijuana. I could live with that compared to the other room. This room was significantly nicer than the first room. The bed, carpet and bath seemed new. The porch light was out so I called and the next day they fixed it. One of the towel racks was a loose and they fixed that also. My overall opinion is that this place is probably a solid 3* if you get the good rooms. I would say that the first room that I got would make this place a 2.5*. For summer, beach, pool and family vacationers, Paradise Point is fine. If you are on a business trip and want a business hotel, be careful about bidding on a 3.5* in San Diego Coastal. I got rejected on 4* SD Coastal in October. I think that my current stay at Hyatt Regency La Jolla this time is closer to what I prefer being listed as 4* SD Coastal for $91.00. The resort charges $22.00 per night parking, which in a downtown seems about the going rate in most larger California cities. I thought that it was a little steep here because most hotels and resorts outside of the city center usually have free parking. Paradise Point is far enough out of the way that you will need a car if you stay here.
  8. 3.5* San Diego (Coastal) Paradise Point Resort and Spa I need to attend event at Convention Center in San Diego next week. I created 3 Priceline bids: First bid 4*: San Diego (Downtown & Harbor Island) @ $92 was rejected. Second bid 4*: Added San Diego Coastal @ $88 was rejected. Third bid: Changed to 3.5* @ $96 which was accepted. I have read the comments on Paradise Point with some good and some unhappy especially when it was 4*. :) I will post a review of my experience at Paradise Point when I get back next week.
