  1. Found the Sirata hotel on Hotwire for $55. I thought my initial bid of $44 would be too low (also compared with the previous reported winning bids on this forum), but it was immediately accepted! Was really hoping I'd get the Sirata hotel, as it does not have a resort fee (you do pay for parking/wifi). As always, I used the PRICELINE link to book this property.
  2. Saw the Hampton Inn on Hotwire for $53, and noticed that this hotel was recently won for $40 using Priceline. So I started bidding at $39, added some rebid zones (like the beach areas, as I wouldn't mind that region either), and at $42 I got the chance to add $15. Declined, and after my $49 bid was declined, the $50 bid was accepted. This property gets great reviews and has free parking, free internet and free breakfast. I used the PRICELINE link for booking this hotel.
  3. Needed a hotel in Toronto for the night, started bidding $40 for a 3* hotel at the airport. Got a message saying that for $6, we got another chance to rebid. Bid $43 using a rebid zone and won the Indigo hotel. Parking is $10 and there is free Wifi. Sounds like a good deal to me. Bid and won using the PRICELINE link.
  4. Started bidding for this property a few days ago. First bid was $45 and immediately got the option to increase the offer to $58 to get a chance to win, I declined and added the West Seneca region as a rebid zone (that's the only rebid option since it only offers 2* and 2.5*). Continue to increase with $2 or $3, until yesterday when my $54 bid was accepted. And of course, I used the Priceline link for the purchase.
  5. Already knew it was going to be the Millennium, which was exactly what we wanted because of the late night shuttle option. First tried some bids in the $30's and at $38 we got the $15 rebid option, after which we bid $41 today and won. Used the PRICELINE link to book this property.
  6. I used the PRICELINE link for bidding on this hotel. First bid $65, rejected. Tried again $69, accepted. We sort of expected to get the Manchester Grand Hyatt, as a lot of 4* downtown wins get this hotel, but we got the Sheraton San Diego Hotel And Marina. Offers free shuttle service and well.. the hotels looks pretty nice, great pool area. All in all I think we got a great deal! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night:$69.00 Subtotal:$207.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $36.50 Total Charges: $243.50
  7. Hotwire amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $81.00 Nights:2 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$162.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$24.04 Total price:$186.04 And used the HOTWIRE link to purchase this hotel!
  8. Just booked this hotel (again) for some family members staying in Vegas. Since they were very satisfied with Bally's they asked me to book an extra week. I saw a 3.5* Central Strip with the same amenities, but today there was a fitness icon. Luckily for them, it was again Bally's (and otherwise it would probably be Flamingo, and they were okay with that as well). It's a pretty good price considering that there's also a Friday and Saterday (4th of July) night included. Hotel amenities: Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services. Of course I used the HOTWIRE link for booking. Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $69.00 Nights:7 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$483.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$72.47 Total price:$555.47
  9. No fitness icon, I checked them again and it's only; Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s),Business Center, High-speed, Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services (copied them from Trip details in My account).
  10. First bid $43, rejected. Second bid of $46 was accepted. Used the PRICELINE link to bid on this hotel. Price Per Room, Per Night: $46.00 Subtotal: $92.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.98 Total Charges*: $112.98
  11. Amenities for this hotel: Casino Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $39.00 Nights:4 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$156.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $28.12 Total price:$184.12 Used the HOTWIRE link to book this hotel. Keep up the good work!
  12. First bid of $73 was accepted. Still think it's a bargain as hotels in Amsterdam tend to be all booked on Queens day (30th of April).
  13. We started bidding on a 2.5* hotel in the Redondo-Manhattan Beach region a few weeks ago, but were unsuccessful until now. First bid $49: 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach --> rejected. Second bid $53: 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach & Lawndale: accepted and got upgraded to a 3* hotel. Not too happy with the free upgrade; parking costs are $16 but can't complain since prices on the Crowne Plaza start at $209. Price Per Room, Per Night: $53.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.82 Total Charges: $67.82 And ofcourse we used the PRICELINE link!
  14. Started at $45 Del Mar, used Sorrento Mesa as rebid zone (no 3*) to bid $48 and got the message to raise my bid with $14. Declined, used 1$ increments and won at $51! Funny thing, we did the same thing yesterday but got declined all the way up to $60. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $51.00 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.96 Total Charges*: $64.96 I'm happy! Free parking, good reviews, great deal!
  15. About parking; if you get a 3* hotel in one of these zones, it's almost certain you'll have to pay for parking. (Coronado about $18, Coastal; some are free, rest ranging between $10 and $18, Point Loma, $10-$15, and you already mentioned downtown, but these prices can be as high as $30). Maybe that's something to keep in mind! Good luck!
  16. I wanted a room in metrocenter for under 45 dollars, and I got it! Started bidding at $35 (2.5*), using Apache, and Phoenix North (didn't count on getting a Resort for this kind of money!! and even if I would, it would be one hell of a deal) as free rebid zones. I ended up with the Hyatt Place North for $41. By the way, this one isn't listed on "the list", maybe you could add it. Of course used the PRICELINE link in your signature.
  17. Started bidding low (40) in the Orange County area on 2.5* hotels, and when I hit 48 I got "upgraded" to a 3*. Too bad I have to pay for parking (12 dollars), but otherwise it seems like a nice hotel! Crowne Plaza Irvine Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $48.00 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.18 Total Charges*: $61.18 Used your PRICELINE link!
  18. I managed to get a win in San Diego during the 4th of July :) I bid 2.5* and got upgraded to a 3* in Rancho Bernardo. Don't remember my exact bidding strategy, but I started out around 50 using Miramar, Sorrento Mesa, Del Mar and Rancho Bernardo, and I won at 60! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $23.83 Total Charges*: $143.83 I'm happy! Of course used your PRICELINE link!
  19. I won a 3* in Rancho Bernardo, thanks for all the help guys! (I'll make a new topic now)
  20. something like this: 120 dollars holiday inn rancho bernardo (holiday inn site) 135 dollars staybridge suites and as for 2 star hotels (tried that too on priceline up to 75): priceline self offers the 2* Rodeway Inn Rancho Bernardo for 79 as a fixed price (not the 'name your own price'). Seems like their inventory is tiny atm.
  21. Sure I'm willing to split, in fact.. tried it already with the same results (rejected). Downtown, coastal and Point Loma would be fine, however I don't really feel like paying for parking (and many of the hotels there seem to not be free :)). I'm kinda torn between waiting (and perhaps ending up paying even more), or paying more right now since I'm sure those dates will fill up fast and the hotels won't unload many rooms! I'll keep trying! Thanks for responding
  22. I've bid up to $80 for 2.5* hotels in Sorrento Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, Del Mar and Mission Valley. Do you think this is too low? Should I lower my standards to 2* hotels?
  23. I've been trying to get a nice hotel room for the 4th of July in San Diego or north of San Diego. However, Hotwire prices seem to go up around that time, and I haven't been successful with priceline either. I'm basically looking for a 2.5 or 3* accommodation for no more than 75, is this unrealistic for that particular day? I got a really nice 2.5* in Sorrento Mesa a week earlier for only 48 dollars (pre-tax), it just feels weird bidding so much higher. Would it be better to wait longer until I'm closer to the 4th of July, or is that a dumb idea since I'm pretty sure all rooms are going to be occupied that day! One last question (thanks for bearing with me!), what would be better: book 3rd and 4th of July separately, together or just try to win the 3rd and extend it a night if possible? Of course I'll be using your PRICELINE link! Thanks in advance
  24. First bid of $48 was accepted. This hotel offers free breakfast/free parking and free WIFI internet. I think we got ourselves a pretty good deal! Your Offer Price:$48.00 Taxes & Fees :$13.51 Total Charges :$61.51
  25. First bid of $45 Strip South was rejected. Next bid of $50 and added Strip North was rejected. Next bid of $55 and added Nellis (no 4* hotels) rejected. Finally: Added Airport (no 4* hotels): $59: Accepted. Thanks for all the information on this board, this was our first time using PRICELINE and it worked out great!
