  1. I am looking at Portland for 1/1-1/2. There is a 3.5* listed with amenities of dining and business center only. It is currently showing for $59. Can you tell me what hotel you think that might be please? If I book the hotel, I will use your links. Thank you. Marisa
  2. The amenities were airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center and high speed internet access.
  3. Fabulous hotel! The rooms were clean, the staff bent over backwards to help in any way they could with directions, a mini fridge for the room (no charge), keeping us in the same room when we had to check out and check in mid-stay due to us extending our trip through hotwire. The pool was warm and sparkling clean. Any time we called for something it was at our room within minutes. I don't think I have ever stayed somewhere where the staff was so on top of it!
  4. I used PRICELINE (yes I used your link) after researching the prices on Travelocity (min for any car $38/day) and HOTWIRE($26.99/day) and PRICELINE (min for any car $38/day). I bid $22 per day and my bid was accepted for Hertz.
  5. I needed to add a night so I had to bid again on HOTWIRE. I got the same hotel (called them and they will put in the system that we can stay in the same room) but I had to pay a little more. But, it sure beats the $259 "special discounted hotwire customer" rate that the hotel would have charged me to add ONE night! BTW according to their website, that is not a discounted rate at all- the "web discount" rate is $189 or something like that. Marisa
  6. I booked this mid August on Hotwire. I used your HOTWIRE link. Marisa
  7. I was poking around trying to figure out an upcoming trip and I noticed that if I rented a car next week the rate was about $10 per day cheaper on Priceline's listed prices and if I rented it for 2 weeks (same times and days of the week, just different date) it was about $5 per day cheaper than 3 weeks from now when I need the car. Do you have any advice on bidding (San Jose, CA) and time frames? Thank you. I will use your links and post an update if I bid on a car. Marisa
  8. In the end, I did not stay in a hotel. I stayed with a private party who was a friend of a friend and offered me a place to stay. Thank you for your help.
  9. Thank you. I will be there October 2 thru Oct 5. Also, when I looked on the websites for those specific hotels, it seems like they are not really equipt to hold 5 people. My kids are small so 2 can share a bed and one will be in a pack and play but even so, we have to sleep the kids somewhere. Checking the Tollhouse website, they only show 1 queen bed available. They of course recommend hotels all over (even 1000 miles away) that are available though! So, with the issue of bed availability it seems that Los Gatos probably won't work out. So, the Cupertino Campbell area on priceline is the area you would suggest?
  10. I need to go to Los Gatos in the beginning of October. Most of my commitments are in Los Gatos, but one is near Santa Cruz over 17. I have 3 small children so I prefer to do minimal driving. Please help me figure out areas and bids. I want at least a 3* hotel. Thank you.
  11. I think I messed up- oh well... Anyway, I bid $45 on a 3* in the airport area and then needed to change my bid so I added downtown. I got the 3* downtown for $47.
  12. I am going to Provo for a week in mid June. How do I go about bidding? Is it better to bid now or wait a little longer? There aren't many options down that way and I DON'T want to be up in Salt Lake, so how do I get the best price in Provo? Any suggestions for price?
